CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE

CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE
{Reyah}
There were a lot of things Lexi didn't know, things I wondered if she could handle right now. I was born with the knowledge that I was in constant danger, being hunted, but I wondered how much that revelation would impact Lexi. Her mind was in shambles, she had only just recovered her lost memories, and her powers were putting a massive strain on her.

I wish I could give her more time, but it was impossible, she didn't have much time to spare, and I couldn't measure the might of her powers. I could tell she was very powerful, even much more than I was, which makes sense according to the prophecy, and if anything were to go wrong, it would be our doom, the end of us all, night creatures and humans alike.

"This power, what if I don't want it?" Lexi asked, and I realized just how innocent she was.

"That's not how it works, the power is your life force. You take it away or let someone take it away, and that is the end. You die, you cease to exist, the end, finito," I replied and stared at her as her mind began to accept the reality of her situation.

I would do whatever it took to help her shed off her weaker self, embrace her true self and complete her task.

"I see," she mused. "Then when can I begin to learn how to control it?" She asked.

"As soon as you're ready," I smiled, I could not wait to see all the amazing things she could do.

"Does Monday after school work?"

"Of course, and I know just the place." I snapped my fingers, and we appeared at a glade I had found in the forest.

It was beautiful and serene, but most of all it was connected to the source. I could cast the most difficult of spells with ease in the glade, so it would relatively be the best place for Lexi to start.

Since she was highly disconnected from the source, she would have to spend long hours meditating and trying to reconnect with the source before she could even learn to channel the power out of her body and then learn to control it.

Right now, she was like a powerhouse for such an enormous amount of power, the power was in her, but she couldn't use it yet until she connected to the source.

The source of all magic comes from the strange forces of nature, it can come from the moon, the sun, the earth, the water, the air, fire, plants, or anything that was connected to nature, really.

All magic must have a source, that was one of the first things I had learned as a child. I could harness the power of the wind, the water, the air, and even the moon and channel it into raw magic or spells.

Now, don't get me confused, witches are nothing like the Avatar cartoon creatures that humans like to watch in a box or the other Arcadia elves, sorcerers, or whatever story they have invented.

It mostly has to do with the mind and how connected you are to your source, and that is why a lot of meditation is needed.

I used to walk up a tall mountain and sit by myself on the cliff at night because that is when my power is most effective since I am a creature of the night. Only when I gained the connection to the air and the moon did I stop that practice.

I can use my power now and cast spells without being anywhere near the moon or air or earth, in fact, I could be underwater or in space, but since I had already connected to the source, I could use my magic anywhere.

Even in another dimension, an alternate universe, or the land of dreams and the dead.

"It's calm, it feels so tranquil here," Lexi said, and I smiled.

Her first source to connect with would definitely be the air.

And the air here was blowing gently.

"Yeah, close your eyes and absorb the air, connect with it, embrace it, and become one with it," I coached.

I had no clue if she understood what I had just said, but she spread her arms and took a deep breath, and then she closed her eyes.

I felt the air change immediately, and it began to cackle with energy.

Damn, on her first trial, she was definitely a fast learner.

"Lexi," I called softly, I did not want to disrupt her connection.

Focus is key.

"Channel the air through your body, feel it merge with you, and then concentrate on bringing it back out." I hoped she understood what I was saying because I was being a shitty teacher.

In my defense, though, I had been taught in the crypetian language and there was almost no way to translate that to English.

It was the language of spells.

It would not be hard for Lexi to learn, though; once she connects to the source, she can self-learn the language almost immediately. The language is locked somewhere in her subconscious or spiritual mind, and once she gets exposed to the source, all that has been hidden would come to light.

The mark on her neck might be a hindrance, though; she would have to be fully mated before she could harness all her power up to a hundred percent.

I could fully use my power because I had not been marked or mated to anyone before I started learning magic, in fact, I had begun to learn right after I left the womb.

She opened her eyes, and the wind picked up and began to blow ferociously, her eyes were glowing, and her hair had brightened in color.

She looked at her hands and I watched as golden smoke began to pour out of her hands.

Golden smoke!

That was the rarest color of magic a witch could possibly have.
