Chapter 125 Made love to me

Chapter 125 Made love to me
Jayden's POV

"Urgh..."

The ray of sunlight hitting my eyes was one thing, but the pounding I felt in my head was another completely different thing.

I tried to open my eyes, but the second I did, the pain in my head intensified.

"Fuck." A groan left my lips as I struggled to sit up. I should have been used to this pain, as I had felt it once a year for seven years now, but it still hurt.

Hungover.

Being drunk had stages, and last night, I surpassed them all. Maybe it was because of the guilt I felt for thinking of moving on while Jane was dead, gone.

She could never get out of the grave, while I wanted to start a new life with someone else. Maybe that was why I had drunk too much.

Whatever it was... I was regretting it.

I tried to lift both my hands to place them on my head. I moved the first one easily, but as I lifted the second one, the blanket came off, only for me to see someone else.

"What's..." My brows furrowed, and a frown appeared on my lips. "What's going on?"

Her hair was long and blonde.

There was only one woman I knew with blonde hair.

My heartbeat increased massively, and my breathing became deeper. Still, I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, and I called her name.

"Elara?"

The person groaned and shifted in her sleep.

The blanket fell further, revealing her bare back, where a huge butterfly tattoo was drawn.

Elara didn't have a tattoo.

My heart sank.

Fuck.

"What the fuck?!" I yelled loudly, almost tossing her out of the bed. "Zia?!"

Zia couldn't sleep or pretend to be sleeping anymore. A groan left her lips.

"Argh." She groaned, holding on to the rim of the bed because she had almost fallen. I was this close... so close to pushing her out. "Don't shout too much, it's too early for that."

Too early? Too fucking early?! I sat up straight, glaring at her, anger written all over my face.

"What the fuck are you doing on my bed?!" My tone came out louder than I expected. My eyes trailed over her body... her fucking naked body!

"Where are your clothes?"

Please.

All I could do was hope that it wasn't what I was thinking, but as soon as I looked down at myself, that thought disappeared.

"Fuck!"

Just like Zia, I was naked. Stark naked.

Zia scoffed, and I looked back up at her.

"You've got to be kidding me." She muttered, crossing her hands over her chest, an action which made her breasts look a lot bigger and plumper. But I was too annoyed and disgusted with both myself and her to be aroused.

"Maybe if you were a teenager or a first-timer, I would understand this reaction, but you have two kids, Jayden." She said, a small smile appearing on her lips. "I'm very sure you know what happened last night between us."

No.

How could this happen?

Zia?

I shook my head, refusing to believe the obvious.

"How did this happen? How did you... Ah!" Before I could finish that question, I was attacked by a sudden pain in my head.

It was excruciating, as though someone was drilling something inside it.

Like a wall or barrier had been placed in my brain, stopping me from remembering what happened last night.

Bringing my two hands to my head, I held it tightly, gritting my teeth to avoid making any other sound.

"Oh my goodness, Jayden, are you okay?" I heard Zia ask, her tone laced with concern. "Are you alright?" She hopped back on the bed and began moving towards me, her hands stretched out as though to touch my face. "Do you need me to get you wat..."

"Stay the fuck away from me."

The temperature in the room dropped as my eyes met hers.

Zia froze in place before returning to where she was before.

Maybe it was the yelling, but at least some sense of decency got to her. She grabbed the nearest sheet, holding it over her body.

I closed my eyes again, trying my hardest to remember what happened. But it seemed like the harder I tried to do that, the stronger the barrier in my head became.

This hadn't happened before. I could always remember whatever happened when I was drunk, always.

My eyes flipped open to see Zia staring at me. Her eyes were filled with concern, and... something else.

But that disappeared as soon as she noticed that I was looking at her.

"Nothing happened last night, right?" I asked, hanging on to the last thread of hope that this was fake.

My body felt tired and weak.

But it could be related to the alcohol and not necessarily sex.

I knew this wasn't a dream. The headache felt too real.

"What do you think?" Zia asked with a snicker, then she shook her head at me. "Do you think I'm crazy enough to just take off both our clothes and sleep on the bed?" She asked, taking the sheet away from her body slowly. "Or don't you think you're man enough, even when drunk, to have sex? No... make love to me?"

Disgust.

That was all I felt as I stared at her.

She was beautiful... to some people, but to me, at this moment, she was worth no more than trash.

Despite my change in expression, Zia continued speaking.

"Even if you are, which I'm certain you are, I was the one on top, darling." She explained, licking her lips, the smile on her lips getting wider. "You were grinning in ecstasy as we..."

"Shut the fuck up." I yelled, cutting her off before my face could twist any further.

No.

"Just..." My hand went up to my hair, pushing it back in frustration. "Just shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear a single word from you."

The way she spoke gave me imaginations.

I could picture it. Everything in my head.

My chest tightened at the possibility of her being right. Which... which she probably was.

Zia chuckled at my expression. "You don't want to hear how good last night was? How would you remember it then?"

That was it.

"Get out." My voice was low but cold.

Zia heard me the first time. Her laughter slowly died until it disappeared. "What?" she whispered, the bright expression on her face dimming.

"You heard me." I spat, giving her a cold stare.

Zia shook her head. She looked away from me. "But we just..."

"Get the fuck out!" She flinched at my tone, immediately grabbing the sheet. "Now!"

She spotted her dress not too far away, grabbed it and the sheet, and practically ran out of the room. But it didn't feel fast enough.

As soon as the door closed, I fell onto my bed, a groan leaving my lips. "Argh! Fuck!"

...

Unlike the last few days, the table wasn't full. Neither Zia nor Elara was present. I, of course, didn't care about Zia.

"Good morning, son." My mother greeted as I walked past her, staring at the place Elara was supposed to be, which was currently empty.

She greeted me again before I turned to answer her.

"Good morning, Mother."

"Good morning, Daddy." The twins chorused, but I could only nod, my eyes darting back to Elara's empty seat again.

"Where's Elara?" I couldn't help but ask.

There was this feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was strange, weird... but I could guarantee that it was something bad.

"Where's your mother?" I asked the twins.

Leo looked up at me and shrugged.

Jake, on the other hand, opened his mouth. "Mummy said that she's not feeling too good."

He said, "I asked if she was sick. She said she wasn't. She just wanted to sleep in."

She wasn't feeling too good?

My mind went back to yesterday.

The early hours of the morning had been good.

Really good.

Until...

"I'll just check on her." I said before rushing up the stairs.

"Jayden!" I heard my mother yell after me, but I had to fix this.

Elara couldn't possibly know what happened between me and Zia already. I had to be the one to tell her first so I could explain.

I got to her room and knocked.

Once...

Twice...

Three times.

Finally, the sounds of objects being shuffled could be heard, and not too long later, the door was pulled open.

Elara's face came into view.

Her hair was disheveled, scattered everywhere on her head, but what caught my attention were the dark circles under her eyes.

"Hey, Elara." I called. "I just wanted to..."

Before I could complete that statement, the door was slammed shut.
