Chapter 69 069
Amy's POV
"Alpha Damien, can you excuse me? I need to talk to my parents." I said to him.
"But-"
"But what? Don't I have the right to privately speak to my parents anymore? Do I have to listen to you all the time?" I snapped, cutting him off.
He looked hurt by what I said, but he wouldn't let his usual demeanor fail him. I'm the only one who could see that what I said affected him. He moved out of the living room immediately without giving me another chance to say anything else.
I turned to my parents after he walked out. Dad especially wasn't looking at me in a good way which meant he was definitely mad at me and I needed no one to tell me that.
"Do you have anything to say for yourself? Look at all the mess you caused. What is going on right now? Is he forcing you to be here?" He asked me.
I shook my head, "Mom, dad, no one is forcing me to stay here. I'm only here for a joint reason."
Dad scoffed, "You left home just because we opposed of you being with him? Or is it because of your wolf? Either way, you shouldn't be so rash in decisions."
The way my dad was saying things made me think of how I was going to tell him what was going on with me. How am I supposed to say that I actually ran away because I was pregnant with the child of the same person they didn’t want me to be with?
Mom held my hand, looking heartbroken. I felt bad because she was the one with the weakest heart among all of us and couldn’t take all this nonsense I was pulling off. I know I did it just to stay away from trouble, and I can’t help but feel sorry for my mom.
"Amelia, talk to me. What exactly do you want us to do? I know you’ve been mad at us for a while because of what happened, but we are all doing this for your good," Mom said to me.
I nodded. "I know you’re doing this to protect me, Mom, but I’m not a child and I need to know what is going on. I’ve asked you so many times, but none of you would say anything to me. Don’t you think of how I also feel?"
I know I shouldn’t be saying this to her, but this was the perfect opportunity for me to know what was going on. They didn’t congratulate me when I had my wolf, and I thought they were just upset because Damien helped me to awaken it. Now that I think about it, it feels like it’s something else that even Damien doesn’t know about.
"I’m sorry, my dear daughter. I should have thought of your feelings," she said, holding my hand tightly. She turned to look at my dad. "I told you that we needed to tell her the truth. Now see how things have ended up. She wouldn’t have ran away if you had just agreed to tell her everything."
Dad looked confused and unhappy at the same time. I guess he didn’t like my mom scolding him, yet he wouldn’t be able to say anything about it because he loves his wife dearly, and in cases like this, whatever she said was right. I knew I could count on Mom.
"Fine, we are going to tell you everything, but not now. You should come home with us. Go get your things," Dad said.
I moved back, taking my hand out of my mom’s hand, and they looked very confused with what I did.
"What’s going on with you, Amelia? Do you not want to go home? I already told you I will tell you everything. You’re not married to him, you shouldn’t stay at his house like this," Dad complained.
I shook my head. "That’s not the reason, Dad. I have something important to say to you."
"What’s so important that you became so serious?"
"Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant," I blurted out.
They both looked at me with widened eyes, and they weren’t able to say anything for a moment. I don’t know if they were born together, but the way they sat down in perfect sync on the couch to process the nonsense I just said to them was shocking.
"What the hell did you just say, Amelia?" Dad questioned me.
I looked down, holding my hands nervously. "I said I’m pregnant, Dad, and it’s Damien’s baby."
"How did this even happen? When have you been with him that you managed to become this way? I can’t believe this is happening to me right now," Mom said, clearly disappointed in me.
I knew this was going to happen when I said the news, but it’s better to tell them than to give them lies. I can’t go back with them because Damien is the only person that can protect me and my child for now. Once I give birth, I will find an opportunity to leave him. Besides, I can still find many opportunities, I just have to wait for now and see what would happen.
Dad wasn’t saying anything else as he stared at me. He probably had a lot of things in his heart to say to me, but he couldn’t say them out. However, the look of disappointment was also evident on his face. I mean, I wasn’t expecting them to be happy with the news I gave them.
"Did he force you to do this? Tell me the truth, Amelia. If he is forcing you, I can take you back too. I don’t care if you’re pregnant or not. I can take care of you and the child," Dad finally said.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I thought he would even ask me to get rid of the baby, or he would totally abandon me. But now he’s asking me to leave Damien and go home with him. It seems like the baby was never the issue, they just don’t like Damien.
"Dad, are you sure about what you’re saying? You’re telling me to go with you and you’ll take care of me and the baby? You’re not mad at me for having a child?" I asked him again to be sure.
He sighed. "I can’t beat the rebellious nature out of you, but I definitely don’t want you to suffer. So I’m taking you back. It’s already done and there’s nothing we can do about it. I’ll take care of you and the child. You don’t have to wait for his support. Let’s go back home together."
I was thinking of going home with him after hearing how he was willing to support me, but I almost forgot that I was here in the first place because I got attacked by people who wanted to capture my child and me.
"Dad, I…"
"What are you hesitating for? Your dad and I will take care of you," Mom said.
"You can’t leave!" Damien’s voice echoed through the room, followed by his footsteps.
I knew this bastard wasn’t far away from us. I told him to leave us alone, and he was somewhere listening to our conversation. What the hell is wrong with him? Is he sick or what?
"What’s that supposed to mean, Alpha Damien? Amelia is my daughter and it’s only right for me to take her back home," Dad retorted.
Damien stood in front of my dad, having that same expression he always had whenever he was with my father. What is wrong with Damien and his lack of respect? Is it because he has so much power that he thinks respecting my dad doesn’t mean anything to him, even if he wants me?
Why am I even surprised about this anyway? Even though I think my preferences are wrong, he still did something the last time we went to a party together and he almost made a fool of me in front of everyone. My dad and brother were there, and they could hear my moans. That has never been a good example.
"I’m saying you can’t take Amelia away, even if you wanted to," he replied to my father coldly.
Dad was so angry that he got ready to fight Damien. "I don’t mind killing all of your men today to get what I want, but I’m taking my daughter back with me. She’s my own child and you have no right to tell me what to do with my child."
He scoffed. "I already gave you that respect and let you see her. She has my child now and she can’t go anywhere. I won’t let you take her away."
"What? You dare to--"
I slapped Damien, which made my father stop his words. Everyone turned to me in shock, and the only person who wasn’t shocked about what I did was Damien. I couldn’t take his arrogance anymore. Even if he wasn’t used to serving people, he doesn’t have to treat my father like this.
I no longer have a secret that I can’t share to the world. I lived in the past and I watched him disrespect my father. Now I’m going to teach him how to be serious with people and not treat them like everyone was below him.
"Jerk!"
