Chapter 61 061
Damien's POV
I was desperately waiting for her to tell me what was going on, because a lot of emotions were passing through me right now. She just mentioned the issue of stressing Amelia and the baby. This only meant that maybe I was carrying my child, and she ran away because I hurt her. Then I have every reason to bring her back. I know I'm the only man she has ever been with, and there is no denying that.
"Tell me what is going on clearly. Is she really carrying a child?" I demanded from her again, and she just shrugged.
"Even if she's carrying a child, do you think you deserve to be called the father? Do you know how much she cried and how alone she felt with no one to support her but me? You dragged her into this situation when she had been enjoying her life without you!" She lashed out at me.
I guess this time around, I really deserved what she said to me, because I couldn't believe what I did to Amelia. How did I make her suffer like this? This wasn't what I meant to do.
"I really didn't mean to hurt her. I don't know why I neglected her like that, but I just wanted her to calm down before going to talk to her. I didn't think things would turn out this way," I replied to her.
She scoffed, "It doesn't matter to me. The only thing I care about is that you take responsibility for what you caused and make sure you take care of her, so she doesn't have to go through more pain because of you. You've been nothing but trouble since the moment you entered her life."
I watched her leave with the bitter truth bothering me.
"Lucas, take her home and come back on time so that we can be on our way to get Amelia. I can't let her or my baby suffer more."
"Yes Alpha, I will do that immediately and come back."
I went back to my room to get the things that I needed ready. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Is she really going to forgive me for what I did to her? I won't deny that I indeed hurt her in ways that she didn't want. I'm such a jerk that doesn't deserve her forgiveness, but I want her badly.
I waited for Lucas to come back while I was arranging some files that needed to be overlooked by me. There had been a lot of reports that I haven't been able to oversee because of my own personal problems. Once I bring her back, I'll be able to concentrate on all of this and also take care of her at the same time. As for Carla, I'm going to make her pay for what she did. She's still in the dungeon and I haven't let her out. She needs to understand she has no hold over me anymore, and she's annoying me every time she keeps appearing.
Lucas finally arrived after taking her home. He was by my side, looking ready to leave with me.
"Alpha, we are ready to go. What do we need to get?" Lucas asked me.
"I don't need to get anything. You're not going to stay for long anyway. What I need you to do now is to inform the Alpha of that pack that I'm coming over to visit them."
"I remember that pack is a small one that has always been seeking alliance with you. Alpha, this is an opportunity for them, and I'm very sure they won't miss out on it," Lucas told me.
"It's all the same thing that they want. If it wasn't for the gratitude of helping Amelia out, I don't think I would be doing all of this."
It's not as if I wasn't used to so many people coming close to me just to use my influence as a very powerful Alpha with a large pack. Of course, all this is to get themselves a good ally and someone who would protect them, which is the reason I have rejected so many packs. The only thing they care about is using us as a shield. I have people I need to watch over too, and I won't let greed stand in the way of me protecting my people.
"Then Alpha, should we just go as normal people and not you?" he asked.
I shook my head. "I already told you what I want to do, and I'm not hiding from anyone. So why won't I use the front door? I want them to know I'm around so news can reach her. I'll take men to surround everywhere in that place in case she tries to escape from me."
Lucas was very happy with my plan, and so was I. She's trying to run away from me so much that she had to go somewhere that far. She indeed was hiding her tracks if her parents couldn't even find her, but thanks to me knowing her best friend telling me the truth, I found where she is. She needs to know that I only care about her and not the girl in the dungeon.
I was able to set up and start going as soon as possible. We finally got there on time, and I was welcomed by the Alpha of the pack. I didn't state my business as I wanted to find out where she was before anything else, but I did use the excuse of coming to help them just to find her. After I was given where to stay, I didn't waste time and started looking for her. I had Lucas ask questions around the place, and I didn't find her anywhere. But when Lucas came back, he told me what he found. It was happening that I already found her. She was hiding in a secluded place that was close to the woods. I can't believe she would leave her perfectly happy life to stay in a place like that. I immediately wanted to go, but Lucas told me it wasn't right for me to go.
"What do you mean it's not right for me to go? She's suffering in that place and I need to bring her back."
He shook his head. "No Alpha. Since we already know where she is and she’s still mad at you, I think you need a strategy to get her back. You can't force her like you used to, or she won't agree to come with you."
I looked at him in confusion. This was the first time I was hearing his opinion about me bringing her to my place against her will.
"Have you always thought this way?"
He nodded. "Yes Alpha. But I'm not saying you're wrong for getting the one you like. I'm just thinking we shouldn't use that method this time around."
Maybe he is right and I should wait till tomorrow to go there, but I just badly wanted to see her, even if it was from afar. I told him to take me there later on, and I checked where she was. Even though she was in a very nice house, it still felt wrong for her to be far away from so many people, living all by herself here.
I realized how much I hurt her. I waited for a while before seeing her come outside to get something before going back inside. She looked very unhappy, and I couldn't stop feeling guilty about it. This wasn't exactly what I wanted to do, but now I have to look for a way to get her forgiveness most of all.
"I'm going to come back here tomorrow and get your forgiveness, Amelia. Even if you don't forgive me, I won't let you suffer like this again. I'll stay here with you if I have to," I said.
