Chapter 27

Chapter 27
“I'm not that great, Beta Axel, I'm just trying to get along with them.” I tried to speak up because I realized that I could no longer be a shy girl since I had to carry out my duties as a Luna in helping Jayden, even though I was only appointed as his fiancée.

“Don't be so humble, Miss Erica. You're the woman the Alphas there all want to have, but unfortunately Alpha Richard didn't want to stay there long, so you didn't even get the chance to enjoy the party there, did you?” Jayden teased me because I did remember that Richard really didn't like me communicating with others, and at first I thought that his attitude was his possessiveness as my Alpha, but I was wrong. He probably just didn't want people to know that I was a very talented woman and make people realize that he wasn't worthy of standing beside me.

“You're right, Alpha Jayden, he asked me to go home immediately. Maybe he was afraid that I would conquer everyone there and that the King Werewolf would be attracted to me,” I replied, trying to look confident.

I do have the ability to position myself quickly, and this is what I have been using to help Richard manage the Cendana Pack. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, in his eyes I am still nothing, even though I immediately changed myself into someone else just for him.

"You're right, Erica. If you stay there a little longer, maybe you'll be crowned the best Luna, but it seems like that jerk just wants to cover up your light. But don't worry, when you're with me, I won't suppress anything you have. You're free to show anyone your skills because that will help me a lot. I would also be very happy if you could win the title of best Luna this year, and I will make sure that I also win the title of best Alpha this year. How about it? Can you do it?" Jayden smiled at me, but I realized that he was giving me a challenge, so how could I refuse the first challenge he gave me?

“Alright, Alpha Jayden, I'm not afraid. I'll gladly accept it,” I replied, also smiling as I accepted the challenge he had given me.

“Finally, Alpha Jayden, you are no longer hiding yourself like before. I am happy and congratulate you both. Consider me the first person to bless you both,” Tutua David couldn't hide his smile.

I thought that maybe the old man was finally happy to see his Alpha interacting with a woman because I had heard that Alpha Jayden was known to rarely interact with women. Even if he did all that, there must have been an element of cooperation, and I also heard that single girls really wanted to be Alpha Jayden's mate because, to them, Alpha Jayden was a gentleman who was not flirtatious even though his mate had not yet appeared. I also just found out that Alpha Jayden's mate had died after he said so himself because I had not heard any such news before.

“Thank you, elders,” I replied politely. This was actually the first time anyone had blessed me with such a smile because I still clearly remember that the Cendana elders had urged me to become a Luna, but they were sour-faced towards me for no apparent reason, even though I became the Substitute Luna at the insistence of the elders, and that may have led people to think that I was the one who pushed everyone to become a Luna, when in fact it wasn't that bad.

However, I also cannot blame others because I did not defend myself or take a firm stance, so everyone thought I was insignificant, and Richard also never made people understand that they should respect me as their Luna.

"All right, Alpha, it seems my task is now complete. I also have to do all my work, which has piled up.
Excuse me,“ David immediately excused himself and Jayden nodded his head without his consent.

”Alpha, forgive me, but you also have to rest for a moment because you have used your power to an unreasonable extent." Axel looked at Alpha Jayden with a worried look.

“I'm fine, Axel. I'm still strong enough to defeat a group of rogues,” Aloha Jayden immediately countered his Beta's words.

“Alpha, don't be so stubborn,” Axel seemed overwhelmed by Jayden's attitude of not accepting input from anyone.

“Excuse me for interrupting, but what has Alpha Jayden done to use his power to such an unreasonable extent?” I asked curiously. I knew that using power to such an extent was very dangerous, especially for an Alpha like him.

“I just raided the Rogues' hideout, right, Axel?” Alpha Jayden replied hastily. It made me a little suspicious that he wasn't telling the truth.

“That's right, Miss Erica. Alpha Jayden was training his powers earlier, so he needs to rest now so that his powers can recover. You know how strong those wolves are, right? They dared to enter this territory, so Alpha Jayden immediately intervened because he didn't want anyone from the Ruby Pack to get hurt by the wolves' attack.” Axel also seemed to make me believe him, and I didn't understand what the two of them were trying to hide from me, but I also didn't want to immediately express my distrust of them because maybe it was a secret of the Ruby Pack, so I wouldn't force myself to find out everything that had nothing to do with me.

“I just don't want anyone to get hurt,” Jayden replied, supporting Axel's explanation.

“If that's the case, Alpha Jayden should go to your room to rest immediately. You can't push yourself too hard, Alpha.” I agreed with Axel's words.

“But I'm sorry, Miss Erica, because Alpha seems to be unable to go anywhere,” Axel said again, confusing me.

“Is Aloha Jayden seriously injured so that he cannot move freely?” Of course, I was worried if Jayden was injured.

“Erica, I'm not injured, but I just...” Alpha Jayden seemed hesitant to tell me his reason.

“Just say it, Alpha. Don't be shy like you were earlier.” I tried to persuade him.

“I'm sorry, Miss Erica, but this is Alpha Jayden's room, so Alpha doesn't need to go anywhere.”

Axel's words really hit me like a bolt of lightning.

“What did you say?” I asked, making sure I had heard correctly.
