Chapter 178 Burn it

Chapter 178 Burn it
Samantha's Point Of view

She hit the right target. This is the card she's been hiding the whole week, her goal was not only to take over my identity but she wanted to destroy my existence. I don't understand how she got her hands on the new recipe we were supposed to introduce in one of the restaurants I was working on but she stole it and made it hers by making everything look like I sold it to her for money.
Mister Martin didn't give me a chance to explain myself, he just dismissed me like I didn't bring changes to his restaurants and hotels.. But I didn't blame him, it was Cassandra’s intentions to ruin me but what she didn't know was she didn't destroy me but I was going to destroy her.
My gaze locked with a towering hotel in front of me. She started this, I honestly didn't want to bring this to this far but she made me lose my job and I will make her lose something in return–one of her beloved hotels. I will simply reduce it to ashes.. As they say an eye for an eye, a life for a life..
“Should we start the job?”The voice of one of the hitmen I hired asked.
I shifted my attention to him. “Make sure no one gets hurt.” My voice was too calm.
“I will keep that in mind.” He nodded at my words.
I slipped my hand in my pocket and yanked out a small white paper I'd written on my way here. I handed it to him and he took it.“Drop this at her door.”
“Consider it done.”
With one last glance at the hotel, I glared at the two men before I began making my way to the car. If she can make me lose my source of living, why should I be merciful towards her? This was the only hotel she owned. Her father handed it over to her when she arrived in the city.. This was the only place giving her money for a luxurious lifestyle.
As I reached my car, I flung the door open and stepped in. Started the engine, drove away from the place.. I wanted to go home but I didn't feel like facing Nicholas right now… I'm trying my best to ignore my feelings–I didn't allow them to explode, I wanted to keep them in because the moment I'd explode, I won't be able to control myself–I will finish her off.
I got lost in my thoughts I didn't even realise when I was going while driving. I found myself parking the car at one of the clubs.. I wanted to be anywhere except at home. Maybe I might sit for a few minutes while pulling myself together. Pushing the door opened, I stepped out of the car and shut the door behind me before I made my way inside..
“Samantha..”
Before I could step inside, I saw Nicholas walking towards me. I furrowed my brows. I told him not to follow me. So what was he doing here?
“What brings you here?” I cleared my throat. I didn't want him to see me falling apart. Losing my job was reminding me of that Samantha I hated. It makes me feel like a failure–infact I've failed to keep my job..
Nicholas walked towards me and he unexpectedly pulled me into a tight embrace. “I just want to be here for you. Please don't push me away.”
“Nicholas–”
“I'm not going anywhere if that's what you want to say.”
He cuts me off. I honestly appreciated him so much but now I didn't know if I wanted anyone close to me.
“I will be quiet. I promise.” He was practically begging me to allow him to stay with me. At this point I couldn't make him leave..maybe his presence will make me feel better.
“You can stay.” I muttered.
He pulled me out of his embrace and cupped my face. He placed a soft kiss on my forehead. “I love you. “He whispered. “I will always be there for you no matter what happens. Okay?”
I nodded quietly. He took my hand into his and led me inside the club. A soft music played in the background, people were seated on their table, quietly drinking minding their own business.
Nicholas led to a table in the backseat. He pulled the chair for me and I settled down before he sat next to me. He placed his hand on me, assuring me that he was there with me.. Maybe that is all I needed from him. The silent support without him trying to give me advice or options. He was just there for me and I loved that more about him.
“Do you want to order anything?”
I shook my head. I didn't want to drink–I just wanted some fresh air away from home. Nicholas moved closer to my chair, he pulled my head on his shoulder, his other hand on my head.
“You are strong. I know you will get through this. I will be right here with you.”
“Thank you..”
“For what?”
“For being here with me.” I said. “I truly appreciate it.”
“I don't like it when you thank me. It makes me feel like I'm a stranger to you which I'm not.”
I chuckled at his words. “I'm sorry.”
“I don't like it when you say sorry too. You are a queen and you are not allowed to apologize.”
I lifted my head and stared at him. “What should I say then?”
A smile tugged the corner of Nicholas’s lips. “Don't say anything. Just smile, that's all I need from you.”
I couldn't stop the smile from curving my lips. “That's my girl. No one can ever bring you down.”
“That's because I have you in my life.” I said. Our gaze locked in silent conversations. Maybe that's all I needed for real–his presence.
The two of us were brought out of our own world when someone called for my name. I lifted my gaze and my blood boiled with rage as my eyes met with hers.
