The pamphlet
**Valerie's POV**
I got home feeling so tired and drained, I got down from the cab, paid the driver and watched him zoom off. I checked the time and it was 5 pm already.
I walked slowly into the compound and it just felt like the whole universe was against me today, the clouds didn’t hesitate to open and empty itself on me.
I couldn’t feel myself, I only knew I was moving, but how was what I didn’t know. My legs were weak, my eyes were red and puffy from the sight I just saw. Why has Oliver chosen to do this to me? First he killed my family and now he killed the only person I know I could get answers from.
My legs couldn’t take me any further as I just slumped on the floor weeping. Just then, Ma’am Savanna rushed up to me worried.
“Valerie? Where have you been? I’ve been looking all over for you, why did you just storm out of the house like that?.”
She kept on throwing questions at me which I couldn’t even pay any attention to.
“Valerie? Valerie!!”
I woke up some minutes later and found myself in my room, with a hot towel on my head,. What happened? I turned my gaze to my left and saw Ma’am savanna sitting there with teary eyes.
“Ma’am savanna? What happened?”
“I’m sorry Valerie, I didn’t know my words would hurt you that much, I’m really sorry.”
“What.. What are you talking about? What happened.”
“You passed out again, and the doctor said it’s because you were stressed. I’m really sorry for the way I spoke to you, I didn’t know it was going to make you like this.”
I checked the idea of the time and it was 8pm already, my mind flashed back to what happened.
“No, ma’am Savanna you aren’t the reason why I’m like this, I’m sorry for just storming out of the house like that, I’m really sorry.”
“Then what happened? Why did you come home looking all drained and weak?”
“I really wish I could answer that Ma’am savanna, but I can’t right now. I’m currently dealing with some stuff, but I promise to come out clean when I’m ready. But for now just let me be this way, please?”
“But it’s not good for your health my child, for crying out loud you’re pregnant.”
“I know, ma’am, but for now just let me be this way, don’t worry about my kids they’d be strong for me. Right boys? I said, looking down at my tummy”
“Boys?”
“Yeah”
“How do you know they are both boys? They could be girls.”
“No, ma’am, you need to see them in action whenever they are hungry, those aren’t girls’ stuff.”
“Ha-ha. Valerie you’re funny.”
“Speaking of hunger, what are we having for dinner?”
“I knew you’d ask anytime soon, well dinner is ready, I was just waiting on you to wake up so we could both eat together.”
“Oh Ma’am savanna what would I do without you?”
“Nothing my child, absolutely nothing.”
“You’re right. Can we go eat now?”
“Sure.”
We went downstairs to the dining table, ma’am savanna had already set the table ready and was dishing out the food.
“Wow, ma’am Savanna just the aroma alone is causing chaos inside me already.”
“Ha-ha, come on now my child, just sit, let’s eat.”
Just then my eyes caught something on the dining. It was a pamphlet.
“Ma’am? What’s this?”
“Oh, that? I was given today, at the market, I guess the new restaurant beside yours is already looking for workers, it’s like they are about to begin construction.”
“Really? Then I guess it’s high Time I began looking for workers too don’t you think?”
“Yes, dear, I think so too.”
I was still looking at how beautiful the graphic on the pamphlet was when my eyes caught something.
‘Workers are needed for the construction of the new project.’ CEO Oliver…….
