Chapter 115
Chapter 115
Khan
"So, are you saying that my Dianna happens to be your Xena?"
"There is no other explanation." He replied.
"What is your name?" He laughed at my question.
"Don't worry, I am Nelson. It is still fascinating that your true name is Phoenix though."
"Why is that?" I asked.
"My son, his name was Phoenix." I gasped and looked at him and sensed no lie from him.
"Now that I think about it, we are in this loop and we will forever do this for all eternity." He said.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" I asked.
"I think the universe gave birth to our shadow selves because we couldn't get the love we deserve."
"So, you mean Dianna and I are your shadow selves?" He nodded.
We both kept quiet looking at the beautiful frozen corpse in front of us. I couldn't stop myself from touching her and it was cold, I wondered what I was expecting.
"So, she is our mother?" I asked.
"Yes, I have no idea the reason why I came to show you this?" He sighed.
"I hope you will be able to end this circle of love or will I say hatred. I know you have heard of the afterlife, I am sure you know about it. According to the heretics, that is where we go after we die." He scoffed.
"There is also paradise and there is hell. I am sure that I am going to hell and my mate is already in paradise. That is why I refused to give up my life and live as long as I can looking at the undying beauty of my mate." He turned to me.
"Now, I am not sure if hell is as painful as living, but I still can't seem to end my life. My Selfishness won't let me and I want to look at this face forever.
"I can help you with that." I said and he laughed at my words.
"Yes, you can unless you are not the one to end it all." He said and this time he got serious.
"Go home and be ready, I hope you are the one I have been waiting for."
"I don't know about the one to end it all but I know I am not going to give up what I have." I left after making the statement but stopped at the entrance.
"I am deeply sorry for your loss, I might have done worse if I lost my Dianna." I said.
It is not a question of might, I would have done more if I lost Dianna.
The enemies had arrived and Farkas was doing his best to keep them at bay. The catapult and the bow arrow the humans made were really killing the drifters. I made sure to send Anu Ukwu citizens that couldn't fight to the underground bunker that we made. Dianna was down there with them. I feared that first Khan would find a way to enter the city with his maniacs. I left the city for Fenris and Farkas and went back inside. I tried going around to make sure that he didn't enter from anywhere. I have looked at his drifter and I couldn't find him there, so I figured out that he must be on his way here.
"Fun."
I murmured as I remembered this to be the core of him. He would only sort out fun and nothing is more fun than the catapult on the city walls. I ran back to the walls but I was already late. The catapults have been destroyed and the bow arrow has been destroyed beyond repair.
"What happened?" I asked as I looked down the walls and saw the corpse of the soldiers that were operating the catapults.
"He happened." Farkas replied and he looked bewildered.
"He stoned the catapults and nobody was left alive." I looked and saw him still standing with his people and he had a smirk on his face.
"He is a disaster, I shot the arrow at him but he caught it like it was nothing. He sent it back and destroyed the bow. Our efforts were reduced to nothing in just a second. How can someone like that exist?" Fenris said, looking bewildered.
"I exist."
My words brought hope back to their faces and I wanted to pat my back for the job well done.
"This is the time for us to shine." Smith said with a grin and the wolves cheered.
"Lead them to victory." I ordered Fenris and he nodded. I know Nelson wouldn't mind them and will preserve his strength to fight me. I wouldn't want to waste any strength or time fighting the drifters. I just hope and believe in my people.
"You know the drill, wolves come with me. Humans and heretics to the back." Fenris stated.
I watched as they all took their position and made a perfect formation.
"Don't be afraid, we will guide your arrows to the enemies." Frank declared and the humans stretched their bows and arrows, ready to shoot. With the help of the catapults, we have dealt more damage to the enemy but they are still not to be underestimated.
"Lay them to waste."
Nelson ordered his drifters and they all ran towards my people. They transformed and ran towards my people with a hunger that hovers around them.
"Do not fear the rogues. I am Khan, the one that stands above everything. You are my people, wolves, humans and heretics, you all my people." My voice shook the earth and even the drifters stopped in their tracks. I untied the flag that was wrapped around me and tied it around one of the iron arrows. It looked unkempt and I knew it would have been better if I had time to plan for it. They all looked at the gray flag that has the face of a ferocious bear knitted on it.
"I knitted this." Dianna came to me last night and presented the flag to me.
"What is this?" I asked.
"It is a flag, it is supposed to represent us as one. I used gray cloth because it is what you get when you mix white and black." She replied.
"Then why bear?" I asked again.
"I thought of using wolves but we are no longer a wolf Pack. We are now a Nation of wolves, humans and heretics. So, using a wolf would seem partial and it will create division among the people. I used a bear because that is the name of the Nation. And with that representing us, we will all be ferocious like the bear in defending our territory."
Without Knowing, she gave me the answer I have been looking for. I have found a symbol in which we would all be united. I looked at the ferocity of the bear and it reminded me of the day I fought against it.
