"Poor child, even from the same ancestry you didn't get Khan in you." He said and Fenris growled.

"He is more Khan than you are." I said as I am no longer the weak ugly girl. I am now the Queen of Anu Ukwu and as such I must always be confident even in the face of disaster.

"How fascinating." He started to come closer to me but Fenris stood between us. He looked at Fenris like a bug.

"Son, you don't want to do that."

"Try me." He scoffed at Fenris and got serious the next moment.

Without warning the two dashed towards each other, the outcome was expected. He pushed Fenris back and I tried to help Fenris by conjuring the ice to attack him with it but he was so fast that he dodged my attack and he went and knocked Fenris out.

"Don't worry, he is still alive." He assured me before walking up to me ignoring the ice that was pointing at him.

"You also have heretical blood in you. Truly fascinating." He extended his hand to touch me and I moved back even though I felt no malice from him.

"Be careful, you might get burnt." He smiled.

"You have the same fire in your eyes. What is your name?" I kept mute. He walked over to Fenris and stepped on his head.

"I will ask again and if you refuse to answer, I will decorate the snow with the blood from his head. What is your name?"

"Dianna," I answered quickly and he smiled.

"I know already, just wanted to hear you say it. I have been watching you for a long time and just like her, you want to take care of everyone."

"Who are you talking about?" I asked.

"My mate." He said and a genuine smile appeared on his face and he looked up to the sky.

"She would always run around trying to save everyone. She was fragile but it never stopped her from trying her best." He said and looked back at me.

"How dare you imitate her, how dare you stand here pointing these ice at me."

"I don't know what you are talking about, all I know is that I have to protect the people behind these walls." He scoffed at my words. From the moment he approached, I felt great pain from him even with his heart dead.

"I will show you how little your efforts are, I will keep barely alive to watch your so-called people suffer in silence." He slowly walked towards me.

"Is this a result of your pain?" I asked and he stopped and frowned at me.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Are you inflicting pain because you are in too much pain? Even with a dead heart, you still can't escape the pain." I said.

"Am I that naked in front of you?" He asked and sadness crossed his features displaying the pain he had been hiding. Fenris stirred around and reluctantly stood up dangling. It took him a while to compose himself and stood beside me.

"Are you alright?" He asked and I nodded.

"Tell your Khan that he should be ready, we will have our war in the full moon." He turned his back and the warriors took that time to come out.

He had his back on us but nobody dared to attack him. He is truly Khan the first. I genuinely fear for Phoenix's safety and secretly wish they never clash.

It has been three weeks since the progenitor visited us. Seeing how powerful he was, I started training harder and Fenris made sure to increase his training time too. I can't wait for Khan to come back and make everything right like he always does. I left my window open counting the stars hoping that it will make me fall asleep like it always did in the past.

"No need to count the stars."

I heard the voice of the one I love most. He leaped inside the room through the window and I didn't wait for an invitation to throw myself on him.

"I have missed you."

I buried my head in his chest and listened to the thumping of his heart and it also matches mine. He rested his cheek on my head and hugged me as tightly as he could without crushing me. The wind blew in and made the curtains hover around the air.

"Tell me, what happened in my absence." He asked, I have a lot to tell him but something else begged for his urgent touch.

"I have many things to do with my lips tonight, talking is the least of it."

I stood on my toe and his lips met mine halfway. He has the same urgency that I have and without knowing how I felt, my back pressed against the bed. I could taste him and it was the same but it still felt like I was tasting him for the first time. I could feel the changes in his body, his muscles have become firmer that the sharpest knife can't even slice through him.

"The world might end tomorrow and all I am thinking of is you. He stopped kissing just to say these words.

"Let it end if I am to spend a day without you." I replied and took his lips one more time, no more stopping this time until we were both satisfied.

After the long night, I told him everything that happened and the visit of the first Khan. I assured him that he didn't do anything to me. I also told about my fear and he tried his best to tell me not to worry but he didn't deny the strength of his progenitor.

"So, in the next full moon, we would have the greatest fight?" I nodded and my children took the opportunity to run inside. We were covered with a quilt so they didn't see us naked. Knowing the curiosity of Rieka, she would definitely have asked why we were naked. It would have been embarrassing to tell them the reason.

"You should thank me for saving you from explaining this to the children." He gestured at me.

"You are also to blame." I stood up to wear my clothes. He hungrily looked at me and I was tempted to go back to bed with him.

"Well, you are the one that seduced me." His eyes shone with desire for me and I wanted to tempt him more. I slowly wrapped the robe around me.

"I wonder why the most powerful being was unable to see his children approaching." I mocked him.

"Because besides me is the most distracting being alive." I placed my feet on the bed, displaying my bare thigh and he swallowed hard. He started to come closer to adore my legs as he had adored my body the entire night.
