Chapter 74: A Sad Reality

Dariu’s POV

Curiously, I spur my eyes open and nervous scanned where I was. I could hear the holster machine beeping and white walls surrounding me.

If I'm not mistaken, I was in the hospital and then...I lowered my eyes to my body and found an arm around me, a leg over my hip.

I flinch and slowly rolled my eyes. I couldn't see him clearly as his hair covered his face.

His body cling to mine as he buried his face on my back, he pushed his body closer to me and I could feel his dick rub my butt.

From his fragrance, I knew he was the one. It must be an illusion again. He'd never know where I was because he doesn't care.

I touched him and he muffled, adjusting his head on my back and calling out to me in his dreams or nightmares.

My heart was flustered as goosebumps held me. I felt harden as he touch as his grip on me was firm and it makes my body ache.

Fuck Alan! It wasn't a dream, he was real and cuddling me.

I was stunned, staring at him when he spur those mesmerizing eyes of him.

It seems as though he was sick and didn't move or freak out like he'd do.

His pale face lighten up as he sniffs. He look so unkept and his jaw was covered with beard and he was more handsome with that on.

I didn't even know how to react but I wanted to push him away, stand up and go hunt for Bryan and his gangs.

"Darius" he mutters as tears stream down his eyes. I tried to push away but he was clingy and holding firmly to me.

"You opened your eyes..." He muttered and before I could say another word.

He captured my lips and part them softly, then twirl tongue to his taste. I melted as he threw his arms around my neck, pushing me in.

I terminated the kiss, staring at him with shock. He embraced me affectionately that I was almost losing my mind.

"Get off me Alan!" I barked and he apologized in tears.

"I'd call the doctor" he assured and rolled down from the bed. I heard his bones crack like an old man.

How did he grow such beard when it was just yesterday I got stabbed?

I tried to get off but it was suddenly difficult. I couldn't feel my legs and it felt as though that part of me was cut off.

I could sit but not move my legs. I pulled out the intravenous fluid fixed on me and made an attempt to rise from the bed again.

It felt impossible and I ended up crawling on the ground before the door was opened.

"Darius!" Alan called rushing towards me as he and a nurse assisted me to lay back on the bed.

What's going on?

My heart raced as the doctor examine me while Alan seem so worried trying to tell me to keep calm.

The nurse tried to fix back the intravenous fluid as he placed a tray having drugs on a table close to me.

It seems everyone was relieved that I opened my eyes and my body was responding to treatment.

The most excited was Alan as he couldn't hide it, mostly when the doctor declares to him that I was fine and would be discharged soon.

However, they seem to be ignoring the fact that my legs weren't moving! I was shocked because it seems i was in a strange world.

"You're hale and..."

"Why can't I move my legs?" I cut in, boiling with anger as I tried to rise up from the bed.

I was staring at Alan who gulps hard, years had brewed up in his eyes.

He was holding back his tears and the doctor close to me kept a positive look.

"I'm afraid Mr darius but you won't be able to use your legs for a while"

The doctor's face was still bright as he told me that it'd heal up gradually but I know that's a lie, he just want me not to feel sad or depressed.

However, this new was so devastating that rather than breaking down, I was panicking in my heart.

"What! Alan what's he saying?" I barked trying not to fret but just believe it's all a delusion.

"It's true Darius, but there's hope, it's just temporary..."

"I need my legs!!" I barked, hitting my hands on the bed and pushing the doctor away from me.

"You need to calm down Mr Darius" the nurse beside me gestured but I took the tray beside my table on him.

He cringe and moved away from me. I could see he was bleeding from his nose. However, the doctor and Alan remained.

They were trying to make me look at the brighter side of things but nothing is bright without my legs.

How do I get Bryan!

"No! This can't be!" I yelled causing chaos and throwing them anything my hands could come across on the table.

"I need to walk now!"

"Please Darius just stop, you're still recovering don't worsen your state of health"

"Shut the fuck up Alan! I don't want to see you! Go away! Fuck you all!!!"

I screamed, shaking my head and raking my hair, then chuckled then cried and laugh and scream.

It isn't real right?

It was so hard to hide back the tears and I couldn't watch him panicking and cussing like the world had ended and everything else doesn't matter.

I couldn't even come close to him because he was cussing. It's a year and 6 months that he had blsckout.

Waking up to realize he won't be able to use his legs must be traumatizing. When the doctor had told me that at first after the operation, I was devastated.

However, as long as he had life, I hoped he'd walk again, I'd see to that.

He must really hate me because he keeps cussing at me, that I should never had saved him, I should have let him go die.

It took a while for the doctor to knock him down with anesthesia.

The next time he opens those eyes, he was mute, his eyes just fixed on the door. He was pale, cold and wore misery.
