Wedding 1
Ayla POV
The days passed in the blink of an eye, even though I felt weaker with each passing day, as the amount of auras weighed heavily on my shoulders.
The potions that fairies give me are very strong and every time I take them I end up sleeping for the whole period, so I started taking them every morning, as soon as I woke up, because it added to the strength that Ghost was feeding me.
It was only because of this that I was able to spend the afternoon and part of the evening with my guests and so many races had arrived, the Castle was lit up with so much happiness and so much diversity.
Gradually, everyone got on board with the theme of the wedding, "Spring". The flowers have been hand-picked because they symbolize what we are, there are all the flowers from the Houses that surround us, but we also have Smeraldos and Selene's Tears scattered around, but these flowers are protected by a spell and cannot be picked, precisely because they are rare and magical flowers.
The Fairies were working well with Ishtar, although at first there was a certain discomfort, it seems that Wizards and Fairies don't get along that well, but we showed both sides that they can be trusted and now Ishtar has learned several more spells.
Of course, she had explained about the Necromancer who had been defeated at Castle Lycan and shared the little knowledge she had acquired, the Novus and Bracken were very interested, as this goes against the music of the immortals and is, therefore, a common enemy.
I didn't tell them about the orb that was kept in the vault, I wanted to wait until after the wedding, because I didn't want to spoil the festive mood.
"My Empress." I heard Ghost's voice and turned around.
He's wearing a dress suit, with that touch of elegance that shows he's the King of the Lycans. On his head is a crown made of moonlight trapped in metal, with carvings of wolves and Lycans.
Although we had talked about succession and hierarchy, with so many kingdoms arriving, this subject was forgotten.
None of the nights I spent next to Ghost did he touch me, even though I felt his presence so close, he always remained faithful to his post.
"Today is a very special day, and I know you'll need all my energy and support." Ghost then took out a velvet box from his pocket, showing a brooch very similar to his crown. "I created this object to help you today. My energy will flow to your majesty, just to give you extra support. With this item, I won't need to be so close to you to be able to help you."
At no point do I see Ghost complaining that he's tired, that it exhausts him, I can't even notice any change in his aura. It's almost as if he has unlimited energy to help me.
But I know that's not true, even if Lycan doesn't show it, I'm sure he'll collapse soon, and I hope that by then I'll be well enough to help him.
I approached Ghost, and for a moment I saw a different emotion in his eyes, but it was soon replaced by his usual solemn expression. I took the brooch and pinned it to the skirt of my dress so that it wouldn't be so obvious, it really did look like a gift from the King of the Lycans, but I put it on so as not to leave anything to the imagination.
"You look beautiful!" I heard Skyler's voice.
I looked up and saw her standing a little behind Ghost, who stepped aside for my maid of honor to approach.
"I never thought I'd live to see this day!" Skyler vented as she approached, the wedding bouquet in her hands. She had been responsible for going to the garden to collect the flowers.
She was one of the few I trusted to let me do something like this.
"Don't worry, Skyler!" I said, picking up the bouquet, but I held her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
I can feel a sadness in her aura that wasn't there before. It's very recent.
"You, too, will have a happy ending, I'm going to do everything in my power to make it happen," I said to my friend.
"Ah, Ayla... Don't worry about me, not today. It's all yours! After everything you've suffered, you deserve this day!" Skyler smiled and hugged me.
I stroked her red hair and let some of my energy flow into her, calming her down, and then the salty smell spread through the place as Skyler began to cry quietly.
I don't worry about staining the dress, as the fabric has extra protection and some fairy dust, which makes it shinier.
"You can count on me, my friend," I whisper. I whispered. "Anything, don't be afraid to tell me... I'll be here."
Skyler didn't say anything, I just let her cry and that eased her pain, after a few minutes, she walked away, wiping her face.
"Thank you, Ayla." Skyler smiles sadly. "I promise to tell you everything later... As I said, today is your day!"
I smiled and nodded, I'm not going to force her to tell me what's making her so sad, but I will wait patiently when she comes to ask for my help.
"My mother has made sure everything is in place, everything is just as you imagined!" Skyler explained. "The Kingdom of the Wizards has already arrived, and they've come with only a few people. The Fairy Rulers are watching them. So I doubt they'll try to do anything against our race."
"Good, let our enemies know that we're not alone in this fight," I said resolutely.
I looked in the mirror once more, my white dress is tight at the top and then falls in several layers from the waist and has a slit on the left side. The fabric shimmers in blue and green.
While there are small flowers embroidered all over it, like barely noticeable details, on my feet a delicate shoe, without a heel and with a thin white thread, adorns part of my ankle.
I'm wearing just one diamond earring, and it's my only piece of jewelry, apart from the brooch Ghost has just given me.
I'm not wearing a tiara or crown, because that will be given to me at my coronation as Empress of the Vampires, which will take place right at the beginning, before the wedding. Just so there's no doubt, that even if I'm not married to Soren and Victor, my place will be at their side, as their ruler.
These few days have shown me that I can, indeed, rule and that despite my fears, my instincts are very good.
I heard a knock on the door and then Charlotte entered.
"Shall we go, my Empress?" The woman asked me.
I took a deep breath, feeling my heart race. Soon I'll be crowned Empress of the Vampires, as well as marrying Soren and Victor.
As soon as I left the room, I saw Winter standing there, a veil in her hand.
"This one is an extra present... It will make everything more exciting because I know that many people don't know your face, they've only seen pictures or reports of what you look like." Winter explained. "How about maintaining the tradition of some humans that the bride and groom should see your face first, before everyone else? I put a little spell on it, and it's like looking through a blizzard."
"I really liked that idea. All the more so because the Kingdom of the Wizards and a few others are only here for show." I agreed.
The three of them let out a low laugh.
I had to duck because Winter is smaller than me.
"I also put on the glow of the full moon reflecting on the snow embedded in the threads," Winter added. "You'll feel lighter and stronger. Am I right?"
"Yes, really... It seems that the surrounding auras have diminished." I informed.
"Good! Then we can go!" Charlotte hurried on. "You won't be the typical bride who arrives late!"
