Drastic changes
Victor POV
Seeing Ayla interact with the rulers of the Faerie Kingdom is history in the making, and I'm sure the other Kingdoms will be more afraid of how gigantic our Kingdom is becoming.
The alliance with the Kingdom of the Fairies is something very unexpected, as well as important because their magic is just as powerful as that of the Kingdom of the Wizards and the Witches. It means that in this war we are taking several more steps towards victory.
These revelations add to what Ghost has told us. Of course, we're not happy to know that others can see how our bond is doing and that worries me because when the Kingdom of the Wizards and the Witches arrive, it will be very clear and that will make us targets for attacks.
My mate's sadness resonates in my chest and immediately Soren and I get up and go to her, hugging her, and comforting her, because I can't even imagine what evils she must have suffered to be so fragmented.
"We've brought some gifts for the wedding, but to seal the friendship between our Kingdoms. I offer to perform a ritual so that your bond becomes invisible to others so that no one can see your situation." Novus' voice echoed.
Which eased my concerns.
"In addition, we offer Winter to unlock Ayla's memories and help her overcome them. It will be a painful process, but necessary for the Empress's recovery." Bracken added.
Ayla clutched the fabric of Soren's blouse, unable to find the strength to reply.
"We appreciate these gifts, they're very welcome," I replied and moved away from Ayla.
Soren picked her up and started walking towards the exit. The Rulers followed Ayla with worried looks on their faces.
"Ayla can't stay in front of such powerful auras for long, even if she has connected with yours. This, added to the weight of your words, has exhausted her, physically and mentally." I explained that if Ayla trusts them, I have no reason to doubt their good deeds.
"I see." Novus sighed. Novus sighed. "We've brought some Tears of Selene and if you want we can make a potion to help her get stronger."
"That will be a great help." I agreed. "I hope your stay is a cozy one and that you can enjoy it. I apologize for bringing our meeting to a close so quickly, but your quarters are already set up, and you can rest from your long journey." I thanked him.
"We will. I'll soon ask one of my companions to deliver the potions." Novus bowed, and I could see the fairies talking to each other again.
I returned the bow and walked out of the Hall.
My feet took me to the Imperial Wing, the guards stayed at the entrances and didn't enter the Imperial Wing. I meet Soren halfway, but I don't see Ghost or Ayla. He's sad, but he's trying to hide it. I went over to him and hugged him, I know how much it hurts to see our mate needing someone else to recover.
"Vic... Things are getting so complicated," Soren whispered.
"Yes, they are..." I replied and held his face with both hands. "But we're strong, and we'll fight tooth and nail to defend our mate! Besides, we're not alone in this. Ayla is managing to make more allies than we ever did in our past."
I saw my mate smile.
"Yes, she's becoming a better Empress than we ever were." Soren agreed. "This alliance with the Fairy King has come at the right time."
"So let's have faith in the process... Maybe you waking Ayla up was part of God's plan all along so that she could get to know the other Kingdoms and these alliances would happen." I commented.
Although Soren is working on forgiving himself on this subject, he hasn't completely succeeded yet and my words make him feel better, because it's a great explanation.
"Yes, that could be true," Soren whispered.
I let go of his face, but first I gave him a brief kiss.
"Our mate won't have the strength to find the Daemons, so let's get everything ready for them," I explained, taking his hand and walking out of the Wing.
I want to check on Ayla, but I know she's asleep, and I'd better not interrupt the energy transfer that Ghost is doing.
The Daemons are scheduled to arrive after lunch, before we even reach the main dining hall, I can feel the most diverse auras and as soon as we enter it, silence is present, as everyone bowed briefly.
"You may continue," Soren said.
Everyone went back to what they were doing, and I noticed that some Elves and Dwarves were interacting, what Ayla had said to them had had an effect and I smiled. Many tried to make the two races have a more peaceful relationship and with just a few words, Ayla did it.
I see several fairies too, they're having fun talking to everyone, the hall is very dynamic, with many different races. Of course, not everyone could fit into the hall we've chosen for the wedding, but the whole ceremony will be broadcast.
In addition, I can already see some of the decorations in the corners of the dining room, as well as on the tables, and people were also wearing details reminiscent of the wedding.
It wasn't that they'd come here with such details, but knowing Ayla had that effect, something they respected, and the wedding was going to be harmonious, no one wanted to ruin the atmosphere.
I looked at Soren, he had noticed this and his smile was genuine. It didn't take long for our food to arrive and, as Ghost had pointed out, there was a lot of human and even Lycan stuff.
'This is helping our aura to look like Ayla's.' Hermaði explained. 'But we have to be careful because it's making us weaker. I don't know how long we can go without taking blood.
I look at Soren, he's staring at his plate, it seems Strïth must have said something similar because I see him sighing, raising his head, and looking at me intensely.
I smiled, put out my hand, and took his.
'We'll get through this together. I repeat what we said to Ayla.
I saw him smile more, so I leaned over gave him a light kiss on the lips, and returned my attention to my plate.
I made light conversation with Anderson and Charlotte who were also in the lounge, while Soren got up and left, I know he wants to go and find Ayla, but he's not going to. I think he's going to the Garden, to rest and try to clear his mind before the other great Kingdoms arrive. Things are happening too fast and Soren has become unaccustomed to it, as he is very old, things within the Kingdom are usually slower.
Big decisions used to take years, sometimes dozens, and when I met Ayla, things started moving in human time, fast and with many twists and turns. The two people around me noticed my concern but helped me take my mind off it.
After a few minutes, I stood up and heard in my mind that the Kingdom of the Daemons had arrived. It was the first time I had met the rulers of a kingdom alone, but I knew how to handle myself in this situation and asked Charlotte to accompany me.
