Chapter 56

The night of Jacob's Bachelor's Eve had finally arrived, and the city was filled with an air of celebration.

Friends and family had gathered to celebrate Jacob's last night of freedom, and eager to take part in the festivities.

The venue for the event was a luxurious and exclusive club, known for its vibrant nightlife.

Over the previous weeks, James carefully carried out his plan. And he knew that this was the opportunity to execute his devious plan to sabotage Jacob's relationship with Noemi.

He had arranged for an attractive woman, who was in on the scheme, to seduce Jacob on the night of his bachelor's eve, making sure that every detail was orchestrated to perfection.

The photographs taken that night would serve as the implicatory evidence to convince Noemi of Jacob's adultery.

As the plan was close to its execution, James couldn't help but have the feeling of guilt that munched at his conscience.

He knew that he was setting up an innocent man and putting Noemi through undeserved pain, all in the pursuit of his selfish desires.

That night, as the stage was set for the final act of James's sinister drama, he wondered if there was a way out of this web of deceit, a path to redemption that would allow him to undo the harm he was about to cause.

In the shadows, as the pieces of this dark plight fell into place, the true cost of James's deceit would soon become painfully clear.

And he would have to face the hard reality of his choices, by realising that the pursuit of love and the manipulation of lives came with a heavy price.

As the night went on, the music began, and the guests made merry in the lively atmosphere. Jacob, the guest of honor, was in high spirits, surrounded by his closest friends and family.

He had no clue of the storm that was about to hit him.

Moreover, James, who had managed to sneak into the club unnoticed, kept a watchful eye on Jacob. He scrutinized from the shadows, waiting for the right moment to set his plan into action.

The woman he had recruited for his plan was strategically positioned, ready to approach Jacob and initiate a conversation that would lead to a compromising situation.

Some hours passed, and the atmosphere in the club became more electrifying. Jacob danced, laughed, and enjoyed the company of his loved ones.

The woman, under James's direction, made her move and approached Jacob with a warm smile.

"Hey handsome," she moaned, her voice filled with seduction. "I couldn't help resist but notice you from across the room. You are the life of the party, aren't you?"

Jacob was caught off guard by her attention, and he returned the smile. "Well, I am just trying to make the most of my last night of freedom before my wedding."

As the night progressed, the woman skillfully engaged Jacob in a conversation, which gradually became more flirtatious.

James watched eagerly, the two of them seemed to grow closer quickly.

Finally, the woman suggested they take a break from the crowd and find a quieter place. Jacob thought twice but eventually agreed, and they made their way to a more private area of the club.

James, where he was hidden in the shadows, had a photographer ready to capture the incriminating moment he needed.

He had carefully planned for every detail, ensuring that the evidence would be very convincing.

As they reached the secluded area, the woman continued to make critical advances, and she attempted to kiss Jacob.

He pulled away, realising the situation was becoming too intimate, "Stop, what are you trying to do?" Jacob asked boldly.

Without spitting a word, she made another move to kiss him. This time her hands were around his neck, which made him closer to her.

"Sorry, but I can not do this," Jacob firmly said, his voice filled with determination. "I am getting married, and this is not right."

Jacob stood his ground, refusing to succumb to the woman's advances, it was at that moment when he became suspicious.

He had a core feeling that something was amiss, and he sensed that the woman might not be acting on her own intention, because of how she remained desperate.

As she continued, trying to make their encounter look authentic, Jacob then decided to confront her and hear words from her mouth. He doesn't have the time to play along, knowing it could attract unnecessary attraction.

With a strict and determined tone, Jacob leaned closer and whispered, "You need to tell me the truth right now. Who sent you here?" He squeezed her hands in his, making her feel pain.

Suddenly, the woman became frightened and was about to shed tears, she realised that her charade had been exposed.

She nodded, her voice vibrating as she confessed, "Yes, it was Mr. James that sent me. He promised me money and threatened to ruin my life if I did not go along with this plan. I did not want to do it, but I felt trapped."

Instantly, Jacob's anger flared as he understood the extent of James's manipulation.

He could not believe that James would stoop so low to sabotage his relationship with Noemi. Meanwhile, Jacob resisted the urge to deal with the woman, so decided to take a different approach.

"Listen," Jacob said, his voice softening with empathy. "I will not involve the authorities or press charges against you. Because you were forced into this mess, and I understand that."

He continued, "But I need you to do something for me."

With a rush in her voice, she said. "Anything sir, I will do."

Jacob nodded, and let out a smile. "Tell me everything about James's plan and his involvement in this. Your cooperation might help me protect the person I love."

The woman became relieved that Jacob was not going to take any legal action against her. She shared every detail she knew about James's sinister plan, from the time of recruitment to the specifics of what he had instructed her to do.

What were the revelations?
