Chapter 11

Ray saves Jessica.

" Where were you yesterday night, Jessica? I searched for you everywhere I didn't see you" Bethel asked as Jessica was preparing for the lecture.

" I told you I was going to meet Hudson, didn't I ?" Jessica said as she was combing her long curly hair in front of the mirror.

" It's a lie, Jessica, I saw Hudson rocking a girl at the party last night," Bethel said.

Jessica scratched her hair and looked away as if she was out of words. Jessica did not want to tell Bethel about how she was embarrassed by Sara yesterday. She was not ready to tell her about her nice time with Ray on the rooftop also but little did she know that Bethel knew about it.

Bethel brought out her phone and slid it to Jessica's eyesight. Jessica opened her mouth in pain and sighed heavily as she watch footage on Bethel's phone. It was footage of where she was embarrassed by Sara at the party, she never Bethel was taking the coverage last night. Jessica frowned her face and sat on her bed.

"How did you get this?" Jessica asked and pouted.

" I was at the party yesterday night and I saw how you were embarrassed, I wanted coming but Eric stopped me. Eric came for me immediately you left so I recorded it for a prove" Bethel exhaled and continued, " I saw Ray's car picking you up by the roadside so did you spend your time with him?" Bethel asked and giggled. Jessica's enlivening smile affirmed it.

" I came back home after that so that I could talk to you but unfortunately the door was locked, so I had to while away time with him on the rooftop," Jessica said and kept combing her hair but this time quickly in anxiety.

" oh, my God, did you say yes?" Bethel asked with a bright smile.

" No" Jessica interjected while Bethel shrugged.

" Hudson does not love you, Jessica. I saw him rocking Sara just after you left, he didn't even care about how you got back home, no true friend or lover could do that no matter the circumstance " Bethel said and shook her head.

Ray's statement hammered in her heart again, this was exactly what Ray said yesterday night when they were in the car. It hit hard on her on to some certain extent Jessica taught of giving Hudson the distance he deserved.

" you are pretty, and intelligent, you should not force yourself on a guy who doesn't even love you again but give a trial for someone ready to take the whole of you " Bethel added and patted her shoulder.

" I am not assuring you on that but let's see how it goes," Jessica said, not giving more room for words.

Just after Jessica was done with her petty make-up, Bethel threw another package on Jessica's bed. Jessica exhaled and said, "What could that be again? "

Jessica moved to the bed and removed the sealing tape to see a brand-new purple gown that matches her caramel skin.

" wow, Ray bought this again? " Jessica asked.

" yes, Jessica he bought it for you " Bethel added with a smile.

Jessica wore the dress and walked out with Bethel to the classroom. They boarded a car which took them directly to the doorstep of their class.

Just as Jessica entered, some of her colleagues were laughing at her. Ann's new female friends were mocking her right before her eyes. " boyfriend snatcher ". " slut". " an asshole".

These were the negative names hitting her ears as she walked inside the classroom. She dismissed the mockery and continued moving to her seat. Bethel settled on her seat but Sara was on Jessica's seat with some boys. Sara was here to give her a warning again.

Just as she arrived at her seat she was stranded with options. Hudson was seated on his seat pretending he was not seeing what was happening. Whereas her gaze fell on Ray. Ray was ready to fight for her despite how big the dudes were.

" she is a harlot, she wants to snatch Hudson away from me, she will taste hell here today " Sara screamed on top of her voice to the class.

" she is not a harlot, but you are the harlot " Ray spoke unbelievably from behind and moved towards them.

" Sara, did you remember I have your sex footage here? I mean where I fucked the hell out of you on the first day of resumption " Ray said, causing the whole class to laugh out loud uncontrollably.

" oh my god! " the whole class was startled.

Hudson stood up from his seat and moved to them. " do you realize you are talking to my girlfriend? "

" yes, I fucked your girlfriend," Ray said boldly to Hudson's face as the laughter looming over the ambiance got out of control.

Ray was a fine boy, and also the richest student on the campus so everyone respected him and loved him. Just as Ray said, it was true. Ray had screwed a lot of girls on the campus with his cuteness and money and it was always recorded. Moreover, the girls in the class were not happy as he was defending Jessica. Since Jessica had solved the questions on the chalkboard they have begun to hate her.

Among those who don't support him were his friends, Nasani and Eric. After yesterday's club, Nasani and Eric had a clash between them and Ray for not coming to the party just because of Jessica. They got more annoyed that he spent time with her on the rooftop and left them at the party alone. For a few days now, Ray had been showing more attention than they think so they didn't support Ray.

A huge guy slapped Ray causing him to hit his face on the edge of the school chair. Blood gushed out from his mouth but he stood up again and fought back.

Jessica rushed to help him but she was beaten too. Ray tried all he could to guide Jessica from the fist while Eric and Nasani laughed at him.

The class was in hullabaloo and chaos until the security men rushed into the classroom and took them to the school officials.
