Eighty seven

Selene's POV

I looked at her for a moment, infuriated by her arrogance. She was clearly causing trouble for no reason. But I tried to stop myself from overreacting, and instead, I gave a small smile.

"Miss, if I have offended you in any way, I hope you'll forgive me. I'm sorry for not recognizing you, and I'll make sure to make amends in the future."

I crossed my fingers tightly, hoping she would accept the apology and not cause any more trouble.

But she only scoffed and glared at me. "You must really think I'm joking? Why do you think you are? Do you think if I go in there right now and report you, he won't fire your ass?"

I could tell she was really out to suck me dry and clearly was not going to budge. So I held my stance and stood up straight, looking at her.

"I won't quit. I have not been disrespectful to you in any way, nor did I break any of the employee regulations, so you have no basis to fire me. You are free to do whatever you want."

She seemed unable to believe that I would counter her, and she stuttered, pointing her finger at me. "You..."

I gave a small bow and turned to leave, intending to ignore her. I couldn't tell what her problem was or why she was hellbent on causing me trouble, but I wouldn't let it pass by.

I stepped by her to leave, but just then, she shouldered me, making me stagger. Before I could stand properly, she grabbed the mug of coffee, and the next moment, I was doused from top to bottom in the coffee. I was too stunned to even take a step, but firstly, I was relieved it was no longer hot and was only warm now.

She smirked as she pointed at me. "You little bitch... who do you think you are? How dare you undermine my authority?"

Vivian stepped toward me and brought out a handkerchief for me to clean my face. "Are you alright?"

At this point, I was really crossed. I reached out to snatch the mug which was still in her hand. There was still a sizeable amount of coffee in it. I splashed it on her face directly, dousing her white top with it.

She looked shocked as she pointed to me and barked, "You... How dare you..."

Vivian who was beside me snatched the mug from me and berated, "Selene.... you shouldn't have done that."

I ignored her and looked at Ms. Clara who had now erupted in anger. She pounced on me, screaming, and grabbed me by the hair.

"How dare you pour coffee on me?!? You've ruined my dress, do you know how much it's worth!?" She barked.

It stung as she grabbed my hair, and I couldn't help but wince. But I couldn't be outdone, so I reached out and grabbed her by the hair, too dragging her toward me. Things were going way out of control, and before we knew it, we were both pulling at each other's hair with Vivian trying to get in between us and mediate.

Just then, a door opened with a bang and a cold voice rang out, "What do you think you're doing?"
