Eighty five
Selene's POV
After leaving Vivian's office, I went to the opposite office already had a plaque with my name on the door; the people here are really quick with everything they do. I opened the door and entered. I was captivated by the sight of the office. It was not in any way less than the president's office and was just as grand.
As I entered my new office, I couldn't help but be impressed. The room was just as fancy as the president's office, with a big mahogany desk and a shiny chandelier overhead. The desk looked important, and the view from the windows was amazing, showing off the city skyline.
There was a comfy leather chair next to the desk, and a table with organized papers nearby. On the other side of the room, there was a cool bookshelf filled with all kinds of books. The walls had nice paintings and motivational quotes to keep me inspired.
In one corner, there was a cozy sitting area with comfy chairs and a coffee table. It was a nice spot to have casual meetings or take a break.
Looking around, I felt really proud of myself. Maybe, this wouldn't impress other people nor would it make them filled with awe but for some one like me who had always been confined to the pack house, it was easily an amazing sight to behold.
I looked around a bit more before opening the file I was given by Vivian. In there, it stated that the president didn't like taking his morning coffee very early and would prefer it around 8am. I still had about thirty minutes left so I decided to use all that rime t9 read the file carefully.
Everything in there was really detailing. From the president's preferences in food, clothing and relaxation spots, to detailed background check on each of his girlfriends. I had learned more gossip from the file than I had ever learned in my whole life.
It was really evident that the previous secretary was very capable and good with details too. So why were they fired? It made me doubtful and wary all of a sudden because it made me feel restless that I wouldn't be able to do half as well as he or she did and I would get my ass fired.
The alarm soon began to blare loudly signifying it was five minutes to eight so I left the file in a drawer beneath my desk and went to the adjoining kitchen to prepare a cup of coffee. There was so much in the company and it was really furnished that it could even serve as a perfect housing.
The coffee was soon ready and I put it on a saucer before stepping out of my office to go to the president's office at the other end of the hallway. But just as I stepped out, the elevators opened a few feet from me and a slender, fashionable dressed young lady stepped out into the hallway.
I looked at her and for a moment, I felt that she was very familiar but I couldn't immediately pinpoint where I saw her. So I turned and decided to go my way.
But I had barely taken a step when she called out to me sharply, "You... How dare you walk away when you saw me?"
