Chapter 134 I Don't Like Being Threatened
"You're quite something, woman. No wonder you're the one Oliver likes."
After his initial surprise, the red-haired man pointed his gun at Alison, his cheerful tone suggesting he appreciated her. "Come here!"
Alison walked over fearlessly and stopped in front of Cressida. "Put down the knife from her neck."
"Can't do that." The red-haired man shook his head. "Without the knife at her throat, you won't come with us quietly."
"Is that so?" Alison asked calmly.
The red-haired man couldn't figure out what she was thinking. Suddenly, Alison reached out toward Cressida, but instead of trying to grab the knife, she pushed it toward Cressida's neck!
Cressida let out a terrified scream, leaning back and nearly falling.
The man and woman holding Cressida were shocked. They quickly pulled Cressida away to dodge, and the man with the knife threw it away forcefully, staring at Alison in shock and anger. "What are you doing? Are you crazy!"
"Her life or death means nothing to me." Alison only made that one move, withdrawing her hand without hurting Cressida, and said expressionlessly, "I don't like being threatened."
"You've got it wrong." The red-haired man broke out in a cold sweat. Oliver liked a woman with this kind of personality?
"We didn't mean to threaten you. We just wanted to invite you as our guest." The red-haired man gave his subordinates a look.
The others, startled by Alison's action, snapped back to attention and aimed their weapons at Alison.
The red-haired man instructed a companion to check on Henry. After confirming he was truly unconscious, he strode outside. "Hurry up, to the parking lot!"
He kept watching Alison from the corner of his eye. Seeing her follow him with her hands behind her back as if taking a stroll, he couldn't help but ask curiously, "Aren't you scared at all?"
"Scared of what? Aren't you inviting me as a guest?" Alison asked back, blinking innocently.
The red-haired man wasn't fooled. Cursing inwardly at her act of innocence, he clicked his tongue twice and quickened his pace.
Alison really wasn't scared. As soon as this group appeared, she had used her smart ring to send a distress signal.
After all, she had been kidnapped twice recently—she had plenty of experience.
She'd been lucky the first two times, not dying and not being seriously injured, but who could guarantee she'd be that lucky next time?
Now Alison carefully checked her weapons and communication devices before going out each time. She was confident she could protect herself, but going with the red-haired man was unavoidable.
First, because of Cressida. Second, because they had more people and more weapons. Third, because they hadn't searched her, letting her keep her communication device—they weren't afraid of her contacting Oliver, or perhaps their target was Oliver himself.
Since Oliver was their target, avoiding this time might not prevent a next time. Better to go with them and figure out who these people were.
The ring on her left index finger vibrated lightly.
Alison casually turned the ring twice, and soon it vibrated once more before going quiet.
On the beach.
"Mr. West, Alison says she's safe for now," Oscar said.
No one else was in the mood to play anymore. Joey grimaced and sighed, "Why is it always Alison running into this kind of thing? She's so unlucky."
"The location is at the parking lot. Let's go quickly!" Taylor was anxious and annoyed. "The four bodyguards with Cressida can't be reached. Who could have done this?"
Oliver raised his hand to stop him from continuing. In the distance, Cameron was walking over quickly with a dozen people.
"Oliver, good afternoon." Cameron smiled somewhat unnaturally and quickly introduced the people beside him. "They're sent by Freya and Marshall. They want to take Dorian's body back, along with Dorian's entourage—everyone needs to return home immediately."
Taylor was stunned. "But..."
He almost mentioned Cressida's absence but caught Oliver's hint and stayed silent.
"Joey, take them to get Dorian's body," Oliver arranged calmly.
A middle-aged man across from them anxiously interrupted, "We want to see Dorian's people first. I heard Cressida and Theodore are being held by Mr. West? Where are they?"
Cameron quickly waved his hands. "I never said anything about holding anyone!" He wondered to himself—even if these people didn't care about Dorian's death, couldn't they at least pretend?
"All the entourage are resting at the hotel. Joey, go with them and come back quickly. I have something for you to do." After giving instructions, Oliver said to Cameron and the middle-aged man, "I still have work to do. I'll be going now."
The middle-aged man wanted to keep Oliver, but Cameron spoke first. "Yes, yes, you go ahead with your business. Just let me know if you need anything."
Oliver nodded his thanks and hurriedly left the beach with his subordinates.
Joey casually told the group to follow him, planning to shake them off once inside the hotel. Just then, Henry came stumbling over from another direction.
"Dad! Something's wrong! Where's Mr. West?"
"Your dad is just fine!" Cameron grabbed the panicked Henry and scolded him sternly. "You're in your twenties, not a child. Always so flustered—it's not proper! You're making us look bad in front of our guests."
Joey and the people who came to collect Dorian's body looked back at the commotion. Joey wanted to know what Henry needed Oliver for, but the middle-aged man was clearly anxious and urged him to hurry.
Joey was about to step forward when Henry's loud voice came from behind. "Dad! Alison is missing! And Dorian's secretary Cressida! They've been kidnapped!"
Henry didn't know how Alison had done it—he'd only been unconscious for a few minutes before waking up. But he knew Alison had knocked him out to prevent those bad people from taking him too.
"Alison saved me! Dad, she saved my life!" Henry looked around anxiously. "Where's Oliver? Get him to rescue them!"
Cameron was shocked—this was his only son!
Cameron quickly checked if Henry was hurt. Suddenly thinking of something, he looked up and saw the middle-aged man running back.
His expression was shocked and angry, exclaiming, "What did you say? Cressida was taken?"
Before Cameron could stop Henry, Henry nodded vigorously. "Yes, several people. One had red hair."
He gestured wildly while describing the kidnappers' appearance. The middle-aged man had no patience to listen. He turned to find Oliver, only to discover Joey was already running into the distance. He quickly shouted, "Chase him! Follow him! We must find her!"
The group quickly left the beach. Henry asked in confusion, "Dad, who are they? Why are they looking for Cressida?"
"How am I supposed to know?" Cameron answered irritably and smacked Henry on the head. "Useless! Letting a woman protect you!"
Henry held his head and looked at Cameron pitifully.
Cameron sighed. "Golden Horizon Island Resort really can't stay open anymore."
Meanwhile, the red-haired man drove away from Golden Horizon Island Resort.
Alison sat in the passenger seat, with Cressida and the man and woman in the back.
Through the rearview mirror, Alison saw the knife gleaming at Cressida's neck. She turned and asked, "How long are you going to keep up this act?"
Cressida's acting was pretty good—she'd almost fooled her too. Cressida and this group were actually working together.
