Chapter 133 Sudden Danger
Alison's life experiences had sharpened her instincts beyond those of ordinary people.
The feeling of being secretly watched gave her a sense of danger.
This place wasn't part of the hotel's main building, but a beautiful round structure by the beach. Guests could bathe, rest, and dine here. When Alison arrived, there weren't many customers, but now as she looked around, even the staff had disappeared.
She glanced at Henry, thinking it was unlikely this fool was scheming against her.
Although Henry wasn't very capable, he was quite sensitive to others' emotional changes, because he'd encountered too many fake people since childhood.
"What's wrong?" Henry asked awkwardly.
Alison looked at him with surprise—Henry was actually pretty sharp.
"Are you brave?"
"What?" Henry's mouth hung open, looking dumbfounded.
"Let's go." Alison stood up.
"Okay." Henry instinctively stood up too, sensing something was off.
Even though there were some guests, it was still so quiet.
His eyes scanned around. Unfortunately, he had chosen this coffee spot himself. Afraid that people might come over to chat and interrupt his conversation with Alison, he'd deliberately picked the most hidden corner seat. Nearby was an expensive flowing sand screen wall that completely blocked the view. He couldn't see anything, and felt inexplicably panicked.
Alison caught his expression from the corner of her eye and whispered, "Whatever happens next, go find Oliver."
"What could happen?" Henry was startled.
Three staff members walked toward them. Although they wore hotel uniforms, their collars weren't properly arranged, and their shirt tails hung out of their pants, suggesting they'd either hastily put on these clothes or weren't professionally trained hotel staff at all.
"When I tell you to run, you run. Got it?" Alison said in a low voice.
Before Henry could figure out what was happening, the three staff members blocked their way.
"Henry, Cameron wants to see you."
"My dad?" Henry looked at them suspiciously. "Where? Didn't he go to receive new guests? When did he get back?"
The three staff members exchanged glances, their hands moving to their lower backs.
"Why aren't you answering? Which department are you guys from?" Before Henry finished speaking, the three men lunged at them.
One went for Henry, one for Alison, and the third blocked their escape route.
They'd assumed a woman and a spoiled rich kid would be easy to handle, but didn't expect Alison to instantly knock one down with a raised hand, then kick away the guy attacking Henry. The flying body crashed into the third person.
Henry was amazed.
"Run!" Alison grabbed Henry and rushed toward the door.
"I'll call my dad! And my bodyguards should be nearby!" Henry suddenly raised his voice, "There are people ahead!"
"Keep it down, I see them." Alison grabbed his collar and shoved Henry behind a bronze sculpture against the wall. "They have guns. Hide."
There were ten people ahead, split into two groups. On the left were people in hotel uniforms, on the right were Cressida and four of Oliver's bodyguards.
Alison knew Oliver's bodyguards were mostly retired military, so she'd thought they had a chance. But unexpectedly, all four bodyguards looked pale, clutching their stomachs as they knelt on the ground, soon foaming at the mouth and passing out.
Cressida's face was pale. The four men and one woman across from her ordered, "Come here!"
As soon as Cressida took a step, a man and woman grabbed her arms. A gleaming knife was pressed against her neck, drawing a line of blood with the slightest movement.
Cressida saw Alison, her lips trembling, "Help me, save me."
The three people Alison had knocked down earlier caught up. "Damn it, she dared hit me! Really underestimated that bitch. We have to catch her!"
With both paths blocked, Alison was thinking of a strategy when a gunshot exploded by her ear, filling the air with the smell of gunpowder.
The people holding Cressida also pulled out guns, aiming at Alison and Henry.
Alison turned to Henry. No one expected the first to fire would be this seemingly powerless playboy.
"Henry." A man with reddish-brown hair standing next to Cressida spoke. "We don't plan to do anything to you. We just want to take Cressida and the woman beside you."
"No way!" Henry wasn't stupid. If Alison was kidnapped in front of him, would Oliver let him off?
Then he did something that surprised everyone.
He shoved the gun into Alison's hands. "You've been around cops, you can use a gun, right? I—I'm not a great shot."
He didn't need to say that. That last shot nearly hit the sculpture beside them. Alison's ears were still ringing.
But Alison didn't hesitate to return the gun to Henry. "You keep it for protection."
Although Alison was good at fighting, she'd barely handled guns, only twice at the training range with Oliver before coming to Eldoria.
She had no confidence in her shooting either. Better not to take Henry's gun.
Henry had his own reasons for offering the gun.
Poor marksmanship was one reason, but more importantly, he felt Alison wouldn't abandon him.
He didn't expect Alison to refuse the gun and stand calmly in front of him, protective like a knight from ancient times!
Henry was deeply moved and determined to repay Alison.
In fact, Alison shielded Henry to prevent him from being a burden or impulsively provoking the others.
"You want to take me. What's your purpose?" Alison asked.
"You don't need to know. Stop talking. If you come with us quietly, you'll suffer less." The red-haired man was tall, his medium-length hair hanging loosely, his personality as rough and bold as his hairstyle.
He sneered at Alison. "I don't like hitting women, but that doesn't mean I won't."
"Then let him go." Alison pointed at Henry. "No need to involve innocent people."
Henry was moved to tears. "I can't leave! I'm a man, after all. I have to protect you!"
"Shut up," Alison said coldly in a low voice.
Henry immediately closed his mouth and stood obediently.
The red-haired man was considering her proposal when someone beside him objected, "We can let him go, but not now. We take everyone out of the hotel first. At least across the bridge, to the other side, then let him go. Otherwise he'll bring the guards!"
The red-haired man nodded. They'd put in a lot of effort to infiltrate Golden Horizon Island Resort and finally succeeded in poisoning the four people around Cressida. If more guards came, they couldn't handle it.
"No need for all that trouble." Alison turned to face Henry, and while he looked confused, she reached out and pinched the back of his neck.
Henry's eyes rolled back and he collapsed limply to the ground.
Alison smiled at everyone, spreading her hands. "Now he won't bring any guards, and you have one less person to take. I'm helping lighten your load."
Though she smiled, looking delicate and beautiful, without weapons, somehow everyone shivered.
Alison was not someone to mess with!
