Vishiea’s POV
After our conversation, Nathan walked back to the palace. I actually had a great time with him. He's really something I feel like I am safe with when he's around.
It's already dawn when we decided to go back to the palace. He also gave me a bracelet after he sent me back last night.
It's actually a jade bracelet, I like it. This is my first time a guy would give a gift to me.
In the past years of staying with my mother Kiara, I never talked to any guy without any reason. Some tried to court me but I always rejected them on the spot. Nathan was just the only one I talked with and spent my time.
Cassie is now standing in front of me with her teasing smile. She even faked a cough. While Liliane giggled.
“What's wrong with you two?” I asked them. They both laughed and sat on the chair.
“Lady Anastasia… you don't have to hide it. We knew you and Knight Nathan went to the holdfall yesterday.” Liliane said with a teasing look.
“We were just–” I was about to talk when Cassie interrupted. She even fakes a move by placing the back of her palm on her forehead.
“You don't have to explain. We understand you. Besides, we're surprised that Nathan just spent his time with a girl which he never did before. This is actually great news!” Cassie blurted out. I covered my ears while looking at them. They kept on talking, however when their gaze went to my wrist their eyes widened.
“Oh my gosh! Did he just give you a gift?” Liliane excitedly asked me.
“He just–” before I could finish my words Cassie talks again. Can't she just let me finish my word first?
“I’m happy for both of you. Lady Anastasia, it seems like you’ll be staying in the kingdom for how many days.” Cassie said while grinning.
I let out a deep sigh while listening to them. I shouldn't have just let them know we went to the holdfall yesterday. It was a mistake. Now they don't want to stop from teasing me.
“Listen, it's not what you think. Knight Nathan and I–” I was about to explain to them but Cassie held my hand.
“You're two together? Wait, does that mean you found your mate?” She was shocked when she asked me. I let out a deep sigh while listening to them.
“This is great! He finally found his mate and it's actually you! I’m so happy for both of you.” Liliane even hugged me in excitement.
What the hell is wrong with them? Can't they just let me finish my words first? And Nathan is not my mate because I already found my mate a long time ago unfortunately it didn't turn out fine.
Because that bastard Darius cheated on me and even rejected me in front of the king as his mate.
I already forgot that Darius was once my mate and I will never consider him as my mate again. He had done too much pain on me. All the cruelty I received from him and the king, I will never forget everything. His father is the reason why my father died, accusing my father of something he didn't do.
“Nathan and I were just friends. I know he's a great man and I can't deny how kind and kind he is. Such an adorable man. However, we are not in a relationship. Besides we’re both busy with our own careers so you two better stop teasing me.” I told them. I saw how unhappy their faces were.
I smiled at them while Cassie pouted her lips that made me chuckle.
“Why is your face like that?” I asked them though I really know their answers. They are really rooting for us.
I don't want to disappoint them but I don't want to enter into a relationship with a broken heart.
“I just hope you guys understand that. When destiny wants it, then let it be.” Their eyes widened when they heard me.
“Oh my gosh! That means there's still a chance!” Liliane said while jumping. I chuckled while watching them but that all stopped when someone knocked on the door. I thought it was Yana but I guess she's not.
“Lady Anastasia Cullen, your majesty wants to talk to you.” A guard entered my room. My forehead knotted. What doesn't he want from me again? Did he already find out evidence that I was the one who sent that dead threat? That's impossible.
Liliane and Cassie stared at me but I just smiled at them.
“It seems that it's important that he even sent a guard just to summon me.” I uttered. The guard only looked at me.
What is he planning against me now?
“Lady Anastasia,” Cassie called me. I could read how worried she was.
“It's fine. Where is the king?” I asked the guard.
“I’ll lead you the way Lady Anastasia,” he said as he signaled me to walk first. I faint a smile.
I followed the guard until we arrived in the garden. He was there standing. I slowly approach him.
“Your majesty, you call me,” I initiated a conversation. I just want to end this.
He turned around to look at me. He didn't talk and just stared at my face.
Is he going to blame me for that dead threat? Rachel, you really don't want to stop until you do what you want.
“Your majesty, if you don't have any concern maybe I can take my leave now,” I told him. I was about to leave when he held my wrist.
“Tell me, are you and Nathan together?” He asked firmly, holding my wrist tight.
What? Why is he asking that? That's none of his business!
“Let go of me, your majesty. What Nathan and I have has nothing to do with you. I should leave now.” I said while forcing to get away from him.
“No! You're not going anywhere!” He suddenly shouted. I could feel his madness. Why is he acting this way? This is too much. A king should not mind others' relationships. He should focus on the kingdom.
“Your majesty! It's not your duty to meddle between us. Please, act as a king.” I told him and removed his hand on my wrist.
“Are you two dating? Did you enjoy his company? Is he better than me, Vishiea?! Is he?!” He shouted in my face. I am already enraged by my anger right now.
Yes, Nathan is better than you Darius. He's way better than you. You're nothing compared to him! He's beyond you! Why are you acting like this? You showed care or maybe it's just a fake concern just to get me again. That's not going to happen. I will not let you manipulate me again just like what you did to me before!
If I could only say those words to him. But I remember that I should hide my identity from him.
“If we're dating then it has nothing to do with you. Nathan is a great man. He's way better than the other man I met.” I told him. He was taken aback because of what I said.
I don't care if he took my word personally and I just hated the fact that he's calling me Vishiea, his mate he once betrayed.
“Is that what you think? That he's better than me? Answer me Vishiea, is he better than me?!” He shouted in frustration. I looked him in the eyes.
Is this actually what you want to hear Darius?
“Your majesty, I am not Vishiea. But if you're demanding answers, I guess I should tell you the truth. Based on what I had heard about you and your mate on what you did to her then I guess Knight Nathan is way better than you.” I told him. He shook his head as he heard me answer him.
“You're lying. You're Vishiea and you're doing this to hurt me.” He said which made me feel mad.
“That's it. You're too much. I have to go.” I bowed before leaving but I didn't expect him to grab my hand and pull me closer to him. The next thing I remember. He pressed his lips against mine.
