Chapter 73

Kai's POV

“And where do you think your going?” a deep dark voice said behind me as I prepared to fly. “Where ever the hell I want,” I said stepping off flapping my wings to carry me, but a hand grabbed one of my wings and pulled me back in throwing me to the floor. I rolled hitting a wall smashing my wings a bit as my mother ran up glaring at Dracula. “Just what do yo think your doing? She is still my daughter and deserves better treatment then this. You still got your way so leave her alone!” My mother yelled forcing the Vampire god back.

“This isn't over Selena you still have a debt to pay, and I will collect on it soon,” he said storming off down the hall. I pushed myself up using the wall to help me stand as I look my mother over. She was checking me for other injuries, but there wasn't any as I said, “You knew? You knew I would have to mate all of them or at least appease each Creature Clan. What happened to make me the ultimate bargaining chip? You owe me that much.” I was pissed that I was yet again being used for someone elses plans. Plans that I was to follow regardless of my own wants and needs.

She looked at m with distant pain and longing in her eyes making me think she has lost more then she'll ever tell me about. “A long time ago when I was young I had created spawn that where not human, but not all wolf either. They did as they were told, but when they found out they were just a prototype to actual werewolves they turned on me. I still to this day don't know who told them, but what I do know is that they would have done untold damage to the Spirit world as well as the Physical world. Dracula made a deal with me to wipe them all out because I couldn't keep control of them. He wanted a favor in exchange for his help. He never said what the favor might be until you came to see me with Will the first time. He wanted to make sure his Clan was secured so he wanted to make sure that you took a vampire mate, one he chose but you made it quite clear that you will choose your mate. While i'm sure you choosing your mate isn't how he wanted his favor to be fulfilled, but your my daughter and no one makes your choices for you. I am so proud of you for standing up to them,” My mother said to me holding my face in her hand smiling at me as she said all this. Tears streaming down her face with a heart warming smile told me that I did good. I felt nice to know that my mother was proud of me that I did exactly what she expected. Standing up straight I reach for her hugging her to me tightly.

“Thank you, mother. I needed to hear that. I do have one question though. Are you sure Dracula got rid of all those prototypes? Did you see him kill them yourself? I asked dreading what I know could be true. “I didn't see him kill them, but he showed me the site directly after he eliminated them. It smelt like them as well as the ash was similar to others I have had to eliminate myself,” she said remembering a time from long ago.

“He was far to mug to act the way he just did with me. There has to be more then we know of going on with him. Find out what he wants mom. I need to tell my mates whats happening here. Hopefully my warning to the gods will deter them from interfering in my life any more. I will be back when I have a few things in place. I will be back soon,” I said kissing her cheek then walking over to the balcony and flying off into the clouds.

Will's POV

Its been a week since she last woke up and I was starting to become concerned that she would never wake up. The doc put her on IV foods so she wouldn't lose any of her strength while she was recovering. Nico stayed with her most days, but would become to stiff and ask that one of the girls sit with her while he went to workout with the elite guards who have started taking bets on who would win. Nico won most of the fights but Brandon one of my up and coming warriors has been giving him a run for his money. Whats even funnier is that Brandon is also an elf as well who asked to be trained with the wolf warriors.

I found reason in the idea of the wolfs training with other clans seeing as there was a possibility of other clans being at the Royal city. The sooner we connected with each other the better so Brandon began training right away and has held his own since. About 10 other elves have asked to train with the wolves which is starting to raise questions with some of the nobles in the royal city. Some worry that they will seek out our weaknesses and take us out in the end, but after Anya explained why they chose to join I had her explain at the Council meeting yesterday.

“Our queen is a very special creature who will help to bring about a new generation for all of us. SO we need her to feel that she can rely on all those she considers hers. These warriors will be part of her royal guard, not just the werewolf royal guard. To start on the right path to long lasting peace we must all shoulder this heavy burden with our queen and King must bear. Otherwise we face more destruction that continues to devastate all our Clans.”

After that speech everyone wanted to send a group of their best warriors to the queen, but were asked to wait until she could pick some for herself. I could only appease so many people. Sitting here next to her I waited to see her eyes open so we could talk about all of this. Nico was curled uo in cat form on her bad laying next to her leg. He peaked his head up looking at me asking with his eyes if I was alright. “Yeah man I just wish she'd wake up.” I said sitting back in my chair. He chuffed at me laying his head back down. He did that when he was exasperated with me. I could never figure out how he was so calm about all this, but then I didn't live in a jungle or swamp most of my life either.

Suddenly I felt her hand grab mine while Nico whirled around shifting to his human form grabbing her hand while pulling a blanket over his lap. Her eyes fluttered then opened focusing on the room around her. She spotted me then looked to Nico asking, “Why so sad? I've just been asleep?” We both paused for a moment then started laughing. I couldn't stop myself and neither could Nico. We had both been stressing for the last week thinking she could die and she says she's only been sleeping.

“No, babe you have been out for a whole week,” I said leaning up to kiss her forehead. “What?!”
