Chapter 72

Kai's POV

My mind felt so foggy that I couldn't seem to wake myself, but I could feel people around me. Someone would be holding my hand or a hand stroking my face or hair back as I lay in bed wanting to wake, but being unable to move. I thought she would be awake by now. What did that doc give her? It sounded like Nico asking this then Will spoke up saying, “She said Kai needed rest. So maybe she needed more then what we knew about.” Will groaned in frustration.

Will never did have much patience when he wanted something or someone. I remember when a boy asked me out on a date in front of him and he all but ripped the guys head off. The kid was 14 and a shy guy so its not like Will needed to be concerned, but when it came to his “sisters” supposedly he had a short fuse. Now it all makes sense being mates and all. I thought of all the times I had to hid from Lysa and Mom because I didn't want to attend some event. They would always seem to want to show me off and I just wasn't interested in displaying myself that way.

It felt like Nico was holding my hand right now as I lay here trying to wake myself up from what seemed like a long sleep. Some time later I heard Missandra's voice again saying, “She'll wake up when she's ready. Look her color is better and she's breathing better as well. You can't expect her to want to come out if all you want her to do is help you solve problems, My king. Please be patient she'll come around soon.” Hearing Will sigh in defeat warmed my heart a bit as I always thought he was to reserved in a crisis. Nico chuckled as well saying, “She's right you know. Some of these problems you will have to solve yourself. You've already take steps to push tp witches back, and the other Clans have back off hearing that the queen is indisposed. Take this as a win you need to.”

I felt my mind take me back under wondering how he handled to witches. I also wanted to know about Lysa and Kenna. Being asleep had its down sides, but I know this is my bodies way of saying I had to slow down. A faint memory still lingered in the back of my mind, but I couldn't quite see it. It would fade just as I thought I could see it too.

As I stayed resting I could feel my body making adjustments for my lack of conditioning as my muscles became stronger and my limbs became sturdier as well. My hearing and sense of smell we also sharper and I imagine my sense of taste is as well. It almost feels like I am going through puberty but a little late which I always was. My energy felt like it was settling in me because it didn't feel like it was exploding out of me like when I first started experiencing it. I felt like I could run forever or never stop flying. I wondered if this was part of the elf in me as well.

Then after what seemed like days the fog that weighed on me suddenly lifted and I felt like I could finally open my eyes. Two hands had each one of mine as I felt myself waking up all the way. Opening my eyes I look to my left to see Nico half laying on the bed fast asleep. While Will was leaning back hold my hand as he slept on my right. I reached up to move his bangs out of his eyes when his eyes blinked seeing me awake, “Hey beautiful. Good to see those eyes again.”

“Its good to be back with the living again. What happened? I'm still foggy about how I got to my room,” I said having a hard time remembering the time frame of everything. Will sat forward kissing my forehead saying, “Don't worry about it. For now just rest I know how you are. Your never fine just patched up. Sleep some more I'll tell Nico you woke up for a minute,” He said leaning back in his chair still holding my hand. Letting my eyes close again I fell into a deep sleep one that kept me under for quite a while.

Felling that I was being summoned to my mother again I wait until I am brought to what looks like a council room where several gods and goddess are seated around the room. My mother is there looking a bit worried about whats to happen. A Man that looked to be of very high rank sat at the head seat looking down at me. “Thank you all for coming. We are here to set the balance straight for the Creature world. The woman before us is what we call a “mother” spouse and will mate with ever line so the balance can be restored. Her mother thinks she will find her own mates, but several other deities think they should chose her mate for her. What say you, woman?”he said looking directly at me.

“Which deities think they should make that choice for me? I believe I have the right to know who wants to make my choices for me,” I said asking the room. The Goddess Diana of the Witches, Evylin of the Elvin Clan, and Dracula of the Vampire Clan all stood eyeing me like a prized stallion. “And what makes you think I won't pick some one from your clan? Oh that's right you witches have been taken care of seeing as my sister has mated your bloodline. And yes it still counts,” I said irritated as hell that she thought to stand and make any kind of claim after finding out about her bloodlines choice. She sat down in a huff not saying a word knowing I had her in a tight corner. “After what my heir did to your sister its hard to believe that you would choose a vampire of noble blood to be a mate of yours. How will I trust that you will choose someone?” he asked in a sly voice. Reaching for my ability to see the future I reached for the heart line that lead to the Vampire who would be my mate.

I had yet to meet him, but he didn't look like anyone I had seen or hear of before. However it didn't matter as he was a descendant of the Vampires original bloodline and Dracula couldn't dispute him. Showing the vision to all he looked to have a dark look on his face, but nodded in understanding that he knew I would have a vampire mate in the near future. The last of the gods to raise question was Evylin god of the elves and his only words were, “I have set the mark on your mate. He will find you soon. I am not one to leave something like this to chance.” He held up his hand at me as I felt a burning sensation on my arm as symbols began to show up. They ran from my shoulder to my elbow in gold shining ink of what looked to be someones name. I couldn't read it, but I imagine my mate could.

Looking to the god pissed as hell he sat back down nonchalantly as if he's done nothing wrong. “Anyone else want to add something?” I asked impatiently. A lightening whip shot out and hit my on my back and upper left shoulder causing me to scream out in pain. “What do you think your doing?! She's still my daughter and deserves respect especially for her sacrifice,” my mother yelled at the Creator who had whipped me. I got up looking up at them with a death glare. “If your do that again I'll make sure the world your sending me back to resents every deity sitting here including you,” I said threatening everyone sitting before me. The shocked looks of everyone in the room was enough to set the tension high.

The Creator looked at me and said, “And who do you think you are to threaten all of us? We set the rules here.” Looking up at this so called Creator I said, “It isn't who I am that gives me the authority, but what your trying to tell me to do that dictates my motives here. I'm willing to do a lot of things to set the balance right, but none of you are going to dictate who I choose for a mate. Its my life and I want peace and harmony as much as you so if and when we'll need your help we'll ask. Until then its our turn to make a way for ourselves. You've already had your chance,” I said leaving the Council Hall. I kept walking until I reached a balcony area over looking an open sky area. I flexed my wings feeling them spread out and stretch wide. “And where do you think your going?” A male voice asked me. I turn to see the very last god I expect to approach me.
