Chapter 20 Let’s have a baby!

Eve stayed there for some time but then Ayden grabbed her hand and took her to their room. Closing the door, he locked it and then moved towards Eve.

“Come here.” He ordered and she sighed. She prepared herself for his actions next.

He came closer to her and his next action actually shocked her. He embraced her, hugging her hard. When she expected him to just throw her onto the bed or do something violently, he was unexpectedly very quiet.

She thought maybe he would start doing what he does best after this hugging. But again, she was surprised.

He drew back and looked at her face. Cupping her small face in his hands, he leaned closer to her. Their lips met and they remained like that for some time.

It was as if he was feeling her warmth first. Then, he started moving his lips slowly on hers. The kiss was very sweet, not at all hurried. After kissing her lips, he pecked her cheeks one by one.

Then grabbing her hand, he walked towards the bed and both of them sat down. He was still holding her hand.

Eve was very confused with his behaviour. He was a maniac according to her whose mood swings were frequent and unpredictable.

“Why don’t you smile looking at me?” He asked.

‘Because you are the reason why I don’t feel like smiling. From the day you appeared in my life, you’ve destroyed it.’ She thought but didn’t say it loud.

“What?” She didn’t want to answer the question so she tried to avoid it.

“You smile so brightly when you talk with Grace. Your eyes shine and you look… beautiful.”

“Because Grace is a cute little baby and babies make you smile.” She just said, without thinking.

“Really?” He asked.

“Yes.”

“Then, we should also have a permanent reason for you to smile like that.”

“What do you mean?” She asked, not understanding the meaning of what he said.

“Let’s have a baby.”

Eve’s mind started spinning. Out of everything, he wanted a child. No matter what, she couldn’t pull a child into this. Firstly, she just can’t have a child with him because she hates her and also if a child came in between them, he would have another reason to pull her down and she would never be free.

No, she can’t have a child with him. Not at all.

“Say something.” He said, but she looked down.

She knew if she said something and he didn’t like it, he’d be violent again. She looked down and started crying, startling him.

“Hey, what happened? Why are you crying?”

“You’ll be angry at me, again.” She replied in between her cries.

“Say it. Crying won’t do anything.” Wiping her tears, he replied.

“We’ve been married for 4 months only. Bryan and Freya are married for more than two years and now they have a baby. Still, they fight everyday and after Grace was born, they became even more distant. I fear it would happen with us too.”

She tried flattering him with her honey coated words as this trick of her always worked. He grinned while looking at her.

“Nothing like that will happen to us. Don’t worry.”

“I don’t think we are ready for a child. Also, Grace is just like our child.” She tried negotiating.

“But still…” He was about to say something when Eve stood on tiptoes and kissed him lightly on his lips.

“No, don’t say anything.”

When he was about to say something again, she again pecked him on the lips. He started laughing and she joined him too.

Ayden wanted to undress and take her under him right away when he realised that they had guests to attend.

“Let’s go.” He said while grabbing Eve’s hands, but she stopped him.

“These earrings are very heavy. I’ll change them and then come. You go, you’ve guests to attend.” She replied.

“Okay. Come fast.” He said and walked out but then again entered the room, startling Eve.

“I love you, baby.” With this, he finally walked away. Eve went towards the door and locked it.

“But I hate you, Mr. Ayden Knight and I will always hate you.”

Then, she went to the bathroom and took her mirror out as it was the time. They asked her about the information and she told them about the party and their guestlist.

“They were using some words while conversing with each other like Black sea, Roller coaster, Honeycomb and…The red ocean.”

“Did you hear something else about the red ocean?” Stefan inquired from the other side.

“Yes. Someone said, The red ocean is empty now. All the water is transferred to the Kikimora mountain.”

“Well done, Evelyn. This will help.”

After the time was over, Eve closed her mirror and took her earrings off. Looking at herself in the bathroom mirror, she tried smiling but felt empty. She realised that she looked ugly while smiling with her sad eyes.

Then, she walked out of the room as staying there for long will make people suspicious. Many people have left and only some of the members of the Blacks were there.

She saw Bryan struggling to stop Grace crying. She went to him.

“Give her to me.”

“Oh yes. Thank you so much. I was trying for so long but after you picked her up, she stopped crying already.” Bryan said.

Bryan left and then along with Ayden started talking to the remaining guests. After some time, all the guests were gone. Now, the family members sat on the dining table to eat.

Freya didn’t come down even when mom called.

“You go and eat, Eve. Give Grace to me.” Mom said.

“Mom, look at her once. She is warm. Does she have a fever?” Mom came and touched her forehead. She was warm hence she asked Laura to bring the thermometer.

After checking her temperature, the fever was confirmed, but it was mild. Eve grew worried as Grace was now crying too. She asked mom to eat first and started walking while caressing her back.

She took a blanket and covered her with it.

“Mom, what happened?” Ayden asked.

“Grace has a mild fever. You sit and eat, Bryan. Eve is with her.” They saw her caressing the baby very gently. Although they couldn’t hear her, the worry reflected on her face.

“She will be a good mom in the future.” Bryan said to Ayden who nodded.

“Yes, you’re right. First, there is Eve who thinks of Grace as her own daughter and then there’s Freya who doesn’t even consider Grace a living person.” Mom said, sadness all over her face.

Ayden and Bryan came outside and saw Eve walking to and fro with Grace in her arms. Ayden stopped Bryan to hear what she was saying to the baby.

“Are you asleep, baby? Does it hurt somewhere? Is my little baby in pain? I’ll ask your dad and he will call the doctor. I love you so much. Don’t get sick, it scares me.” She saw them hearing her so she stopped her blabbering.

Ayden imagined her holding their baby and saying such sweet things to him too. She would definitely be the best mom.

Then she walked towards them and moved backwards. Then again turning towards them she asked, “Is she asleep?”

Both of them nodded their heads with a smile. She went to her room and put her carefully on the small bed. Then coming out of the room, she found Bryan.

“Please call me if she cries or wakes up.” Bryan smiled and asked her to go and eat.

After eating her food which she ate very fast, all the time thinking of Grace. Ayden grabbed her hand and walked towards their room while she stopped suddenly.

“Let me see her once, please.” She begged.

“Okay.” And he went with her to Grace’s room. She was still sleeping. Eve ran towards her and touched her forehead.

“She doesn’t have a fever now. You both go and have some rest. I’m with her.” Bryan responded.

“Please call me if….”

“She wakes up or cries. I know that Eve, you go.” Bryan completed her sentence. Both Ayden and Bryan laughed at her, who was making an annoyed face at the time.

Eve kissed her forehead and then with one last glance, walked away from the room.
