Chapter 68

******Dani's POV*****

"Where are we?" I groan, feeling the rough floor beneath me as my eyes take their time to focus.

"Home." Lupin sighs out from relief.

I rub my eyes, blinking back the water as I glance around the dark room.

"Are we in a cell?!" I scramble to my feet, searching my surroundings before seeing my father in the corner still unconscious.

What if he wakes up soon...

"We need to get out! We need to leave!" I state, helping Mrs Lorence to her feet as she stares around in utter confusion.

"Dani!" I jump at the new voice, turning to see Kyron and Anna approaching the cell.

I notice four guards on the other side, as I watch one of them mess around briefly with buttons.

"Oh dear! I can only imagine what you've been through!" Anna whispers, growing upset, before beeps are heard and the door unlocks.

I instinctively rush towards them, pulling Lily's Mom with me - whilst earning a chuckle from Lupin.

"Am I seriously that bad to be around?!" Lupin jokes, earning an eye roll from me since now was not the time!

"Thank you for your help, if there is anything we can do for you or your family in future please do ask." Kyron shakes Lupins hand, as he nods and thanks him for the kind words.

"It's no problem at all sir, I'm happy to work with you again... but if you don't mind, I will be going home to see my family now." Lupin states, earning understanding nods from Kyron and Anna.

"Until next time!" He winks down at me, as I suddenly grow overwhelmed from everything that had happened.

I hear the beeps of the cell close behind us, as I turn to stare through at my limp father as he remains still.

In an instant, I wrap my arms tightly around Lupin, releasing a sob into his chest as he tenses under my hold.

"Thank you! For everything! You've saved my life twice from that monster... I would be dead already without you!" I sob harder, as he finally relaxes and wraps his arms across my back.

"I mean... I guess you're welcome little human since you're actually not that bad to be around... but let's be honest the first time was for my own benefit only!" He makes light of the situation at the end, as I laugh softly in his chest.

"Regardless... you gave me a fresh start here." I pull back finally, looking into his eyes as he nods.

"I'm sure I'll be back to save your ass again at some point human... just don't make it too often!" He laughs, before releasing me and heading off out of the cells.

Although he was a demon... he had seriously only brought good into my life. The first time was for his benefit only... but the second time, he didn't have to save me at all.

"You're lucky Axel wasn't here to see that meaningful hug little miss!" Kyron chuckles next, as I laugh slightly too.

"Shush you!" Anna hushes his jokes, before embracing me in a warm hug herself.

"We are so glad that you're safe Dani! We were so worried when we heard you got sent back there! We can only apologise for Cassio and his behaviour... he is no son of ours that is for sure!" She pulls back and means every word she says as I nod.

"I'm here now... but what will happen to him?" I question warily, gesturing to my now imprisoned father.

"Axel wants to take care of that later... let's get you both home!" Anna diffuses the situation and I decide that I trust her and Axel enough to leave it at that for now.

So I allow her to lead myself and Lily's Mom past the numerous guards and other cells before we finally reach an elevator.

"I'm so sorry I haven't introduced myself... I am Anna and this is my husband Kyron." Anna embraces Mrs Lorence in a gentle hug as the elevator begins to move upwards.

"You are Lily's Mom I assume?" She asks next, leaning back from the hug as Mrs Lorence struggles to find her words - understandably confused from this whole thing.

"Don't worry we will have you settled in a comfortable room and Lily should be arriving home soon too! She will be the best person to explain this whole thing properly but please trust us when we say you are safe here." Anna tells her softly, as she briefly nods in response.

She looked exhausted and rightfully so.

The doors ding open, and we exit the elevator - passing through what looks like a heavily guarded office. I'm assuming this is one of the prison type places that they hold criminals.

Kyron leads the way, earning respectful nods from everyone as we warily pass through.

We finally get outside, as I close my eyes allowing the fresh air to hit my nose as I inhale it. The sun was shining here and the overall place was warm and welcoming.

I open my eyes, seeing a car, as we approach and climb in the back - allowing Kyron to drive us through the familiar tree lined roads towards home.

I just pray that Axel will be home soon too...

******Axel's POV******

"Working?" I lean over Ivanna and Draco as they mix random shit together.

"I think so... there's only one way to find out..." Ivanna sighs, as they pour the liquid into a jug and carry it towards the lifeless Halliday.

My plan was to enchant Halliday to kill Cassio almost like a puppet… thus meaning none of us would die.

"Killing your own brother?! How will you live with yourself after this!" Cassio continues to bellow in the background, as I struggle to find a single ounce of care.

"Draco are you seriously going to work for them now?! You fucking snake! You'll only be disappointed when you find that your precious son isn't even alive anymore! We killed him at the start!" Cassio roars, laughing sickly as he chants the words over and over again.

"We killed him! He's dead! We killed him!" He continues, earning a growl from me as Draco halts in his tracks.

"LIAR!" Draco roars, as Cassio throws his head back in the chair laughing harder.

"Am I? Ask the other witch to check!" Cassio smirks, as Ivanna stands holding the potion over Hallidays lifeless form.

"Ignore him!" Ivanna pleads, as Draco's eyes seem to water for the first time since meeting him.

"I don't think he's lying!" Draco whispers, studying Cassios honest eyes, as a fury races through me. Surely he didn’t kill this man’s son!

"Ivanna check. There's only one way to settle this before we continue with killing this prick!" I roar, as Ivanna places the potion aside and nods at my new request.

She moves back, before grabbing a smaller amount of things from what they had used before.

"You fool! You have worked so long for us and he's been dead all along!" Cassio continues to laugh, before Nolan grabs a soaked rag and stuffs it into his mouth.

"He can't be..." Draco trails off to himself, the sadness and fear washing over him at once.

I turn to look at Ivanna, as she rushes to complete the spell...

We wait in fear, not knowing what will come of the news...

Before...

"I’m so sorry… but the poor boy is dead..." Ivanna concludes with an evident lump in her throat.

"YOU BASTARD!" Draco roars, as the room begins to shake causing the four of us to fall to our knees.

"YOU FUCKING SICK BASTARD IM GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THIS!!"
