Chapter 90 The boy is mine
Chapter 90: The Boy is Mine
It had been two weeks since Golden and Allan started dating and the only people that knew of their relationship were her friends.
Fab had stayed true to his words; they treated Allan better. Alex and Varney were cordial and welcoming towards him.
One thing Golden was grateful for was that although they didn't announce their relationship, Allan didn't ignore her at school.
He greeted her with a smile whenever their paths crossed and he formed the habit of eating at her table.
They still didn't sit together during classes and Golden was fine with it. She still wanted to maintain her private time with her friends.
Linda Miller had been silently watching from the shadows. It had been one month since they resumed and she noticed that the relationship between Allan and Golden had improved significantly.
Even Alex wasn't hostile to him anymore. And Fab spoke to him like they were buddies.
Linda had been slowly biding her time with Allan. “Since Golden and Fab started dating”, she thought of chasing him subtly.
She had spent a small fortune to buy him a Calvin Klein watch. Although it was no Patek Philippe or Rolex, it was still a luxury brand.
She had given him the watch and he rejected it without even opening it.
Something wasn't adding up. Linda had a feeling in her guts and she decided to find out what was going on.
Golden had gone to the restroom and just as she came out to wash her hands, Linda stepped in.
“Hey Fatty, I need to ask you something.” Linda said with a sneer as she checked herself out in the mirror.
“What do you want Cruella?” Golden asked as she dried her hands under the hand dryer.
Linda cringed when she heard Golden call her Cruella but she calmed herself down and said to her:
“I see that Allan has been smiling and talking to you more recently. He even sits at your table sometimes.” She paused to apply her lipgloss.
“Get to the point Linda, I don't have all day,” Golden said getting impatient.
“He will never fancy you Golden. He's only being polite to you. The semester will be ending in a couple of months and as president of Medical Students' Association, he needs to pull in the big spenders.
You know for our parties and events. The same one he stood you up for the last time.” Linda said trying to provoke a reaction from Golden.
She turned fully to face Golden. “I know that you've always had a crush on Allan, but newsflash, Allan only likes girls like me.
He would never like someone like you. So stop dreaming Fatty because this is not one dream that will ever come true.”
Golden folded her hands and listened to Linda blab.
“So let me get this straight. Allan only likes girls like you. And by that you mean he only likes mean, sassy, rude, self-centered plastic girls?”
Linda was angry at the words Golden used to describe her. She took a step forward and stood right in front of Golden.
“Stay away from Allan, he is mine!”
Golden took a step forward, closing the space between them and forcing Linda to take a step backward.
She smiled sweetly, looked Linda in the eyes and said: “Yeah, good luck with that.”
Then she walked past her, bumping her slightly before leaving the restroom.
Linda stomped her feet angrily when Golden left. She had warned her, now she was going to let her see who Allan would pick.
She put herself together, checked the mirror to make sure not a single strand of hair was out of place and then exited the restroom.
Golden walked towards the car park. She thought about everything that Linda had said to her in the restroom and couldn't help but laugh.
She had said Allan could never fancy someone like her yet, he was dating her.
She would have believed Linda in the past. She would have believed that Allan only got close to her to get her to spend money on their parties that she rarely ever attended.
But then Allan had opened up himself to her and showed her parts of him that no one else knew.
She felt very special to be privy to such information and it caused her to smile.
She wondered what Linda would do if she found out that she was dating Allan.
As she got to the parking lot, she spotted Allan waiting for her. She smiled warmly as she picked up her pace to meet him.
She had been too lazy to drive and asked the driver to send her to school.
Allan had texted her during class and asked that they hang out so she told her friends to leave without her.
Just as she was getting closer to Allan, she saw two people approach him.
It was a guy and a lady. The guy she had seen before with Allan at the mall, but she was seeing the lady for the first time.
Although the guy had his arms around the lady's waist, Golden couldn't help but notice how the lady stared at Allan.
She knew that look all too well. She didn't bother because Allan seemed oblivious about the lady and focused on the guy.
They left just as Golden got to Allan.
“Ready babe”, he said with a smile.
“Ready!” Golden responded as she took the helmet and climbed onto the bike.
Just at that moment, Linda walked towards them. Golden smiled and winked at her before putting the crash helmet on.
Golden held on to Allan's waist, then smiled at Linda who stood dumbfounded, with her mouth open.
“Not his type huh?” Golden said to Linda before pressing her cheek to Allan's back smiling as he zoomed off.
Linda looked on as Allan zoomed off with Golden holding his waist, her smile mocking her.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Linda screamed at the top of her lungs, causing the birds nearby to fly away in panic.
People turned and looked at her. She noticed their stares and immediately walked to her car, entered it and zoomed off.
