Chapter 167 His younger sister
Chapter 167: His Younger Sister
Xander entered the room exactly five minutes after Golden entered. Golden was sitting on the bed very uptight and he was about to go to her when the bathroom door opened.
“Alex!” The lady shouted and ran to hug him. “I've missed you so much. Happy birthday.” she said as Xander twirled her around.
“When did you get into town? You didn't even tell me you were coming.” Xander said as he put her down.
Golden watched them silently. Something wasn't adding up. It was obvious that they both knew each other, but what exactly was their relationship?
Golden took a deep breath and then cleared her throat to get the attention of the people in the room.
“Xander who is this?” Golden finally asked with as much control as she could muster.
“You? What the hell are you doing here?” the lady asked, just noticing that someone else was also in the room.
She had a skeptical and not so friendly look on her face. Her attention had been solely on Xander that she didn't even notice Golden sitting on the bed.
“Wait! How do you two know each other?” Xander asked confused. From the looks on their faces, he was sure both ladies weren't friends.
Golden looked like she was struggling to keep her cool, and the other looked like she was about to obliterate Golden.
“Alex what is this woman doing here? How do you two know each other?” the lady directed her questions to Xander.
“Lindsay, drop the attitude. Her name is Golden and you will do well to address her properly.” Xander said, not happy with the way she referred to Golden.
Golden felt the cloud that had gathered in her heart begin to clear slowly when she heard what Xander said to Lindsay.
“You still haven't answered my question Alex, why is she here?” Lindsay asked, not backing down, and still full of attitude.
Xander walked towards Golden and sat beside her on the bed. He held her hands and turned towards Lindsay.
“It seems like you didn't hear me the first time. Anyways like I said, this is Golden and she is my girlfriend. She's here to see me.
Now that you know who she is and why she is here, you need to drop the attitude.” Xander said to Lindsay with a warning but loving look.
“Golden, this is my younger sister Lindsay Cohen. Please forgive her attitude, she's usually a very sweet lady, but a little possessive of me.” Xander said to Golden.
There was finally a rainbow in the sky. So she was Xander's sister. He had mentioned he had a sister before and her name was Lindsay, but Golden never imagined that this Lindsay was the sister. He never showed her a picture of his sister so there was no way of her knowing.
“Oh she's your sister? This is interesting.” Golden said, finally calm.
“Girlfriend? You've got to be kidding me Alex. Of all the ladies in the world, it just had to be her. Do you know she has a boyfriend?” Lindsay said with a nasty attitude.
She couldn't believe that Golden was dating her brother. She was the reason she and Allan weren't together.
At first, she knew Allan liked Golden, she had seen them together in the mall being all lovey dovey. Even though Allan never openly admitted that they were dating, she knew there was something going on between them.
Then Golden went away to school and she and Allan started getting along pretty well. They had even made out in his room during his siblings party, but then he stopped picking her calls.
When she tried to see him, he ignored her and wouldn't even look at her. She had to ask Trey for help.
Trey had tried to ask Allan what was going on but he kept saying he didn't want to talk about it.
They had gone to their usual restaurant and she had sat in the next booth so she could hear everything herself. After a couple of drinks, Allan finally loosened up.
He admitted to loving Lindsay and she was excited but then he said loving her was a mistake because he was in love with someone else.
He finally admitted that he was dating Golden, but that she had walked in on them making out during the party and that she was really hurt.
He said he couldn't keep seeing Lindsay and that he needed to keep his distance from her so he could focus on loving Golden.
Lindsay had been heartbroken when she heard Allan say all those things under the influence of alcohol. How is it that she couldn't compare to Golden?
She left to LA soon after that and was only just returning to Florida and her brother was saying he was dating Golden? Same Golden that made her loose Allan.
“Yes Lin. She has a boyfriend, and I am the boyfriend. And you are right, of all the ladies in the world, I chose her and the earlier you get used to it, the better for you.” Xander said.
“Come on Alex, don't let her fool you. She's dating Allan Renshaw, the guy I've been in love with for the longest time. She's the reason he refused to be with me, even though he loves me too.
Come on brother, don't let this bitch fool you.” Lindsay said rolling her eyes.
“LINDSAY MARIANNA COHEN! Mind your language! You will apologize to my girlfriend this instance.” Xander said in a deep voice. Lindsay was a little spoiled and was used to getting whatever she wanted, but he wasn't going to let her insult Golden.
“Wait did you say Allan Renshaw?” something began to click in Xander's head. He had met an Allan this evening that Golden introduced as her friend's brother.
At Rosa's wedding, Golden had said she was dating a guy called Allan Renshaw. The night of her heartbreak, she had said she caught Allan and Lindsay making out.
Her friend she was talking to didn't seem surprised and had said, Allan and Lindsay had something going on for months.
It never occured to him once that the Lindsay they were referring to was his own sister. And from the look of things, she was aware that Allan and Golden had something going on but still went ahead to have a thing with Allan.
His face darkened as he realized that his sister may have been the reason for Golden's breakup.
