“Well baby, we aren't exactly dating yet. Aunty Golden hasn't agreed to be my girlfriend yet. I'm courting her right now. So technically I'm still on probation. If I pass, then I can be her boyfriend.” Xander tried to explain their situationship.
Sally looked at Golden. “Is what uncle Alex said true? Did you put him on probation aunty Golden?”
Golden felt a headache coming on, but she smiled and responded to Sally. “Please call me Gigi. And I didn't exactly put your uncle on probation.
He actually just confessed his feelings to me yesterday and we are trying to get to know each other. Technically, today is the first day of our courtship.” Golden tried explaining. Since Xander had openly claimed her, there was no need hiding.
“Oh I get it now. I'm sure you will fall in love with him once you get to know him. Uncle Alex is a really nice guy and I'm tired of him being single.
Thankfully he found you. I was beginning to think I might get a boyfriend before he finally gets a girlfriend.
Uncle Alex you need to work hard and make Gigi fall in love with you soon. You are not getting any younger. You need to hurry and have a baby girl so I can take her for concerts too.” Sally said with all seriousness.
“Yes your highness. I will try to make her fall in love with me fast so we can have a baby sister you can take to concerts.”
“Hi Gigi, it's so nice to meet you. And please forgive my daughter, she's a bit of a talkative.” Mona said to Golden with a warm smile.
“No it's fine. She's cute actually and I kind of like her already. She's very assertive and straightforward.” she said with a smile also.
“So Alex said you are the one that planned this whole thing. I was surprised when he called and said he wanted to take Sally to a concert.
He's the least aware person I know. Every year he sends a huge check and asks me to buy her something, so you can imagine my shock when he said he wanted to fly her out to see One Direction's concert.
I should have known that a woman was behind it, and a beautiful one at that. How did you manage to get the tickets because I know they've been sold out for some time now.”
“Well my friend got me the tickets. We were actually planning on attending the concert so when he said Sally was a huge fan, I asked her and she got extra tickets.
Her family actually has ties in Hollywood so it wasn't difficult getting some extra tickets.” Golden said.
“Wow, thank you. This actually means a lot. This is a very thoughtful gift. I see why Alex is mad about you. Not everyone is intentional about gifting. I hope you fall in love with him soon.” Mona said with a wink.
Xander proceeded to hand Sally her other gifts and she kept screaming in excitement.
Mona quietly watched as Sally unwrapped gift after gift. She could see Golden writen all over it.
Xander was clueless when it came to buying gifts for his goddaughter. Every gift item he got was intentional and well thought of.
He had also gotten Mona a bottle of perfume and an earring, and instead of thanking him, she turned and thanked Golden instead.
Xander wanted to protest but he kept quiet. It was a good thing Mona liked Golden and had a favourable impression of her.
Golden nodded in acknowledgement. She understood Mona's thanks and then she handed Sally a gift bag. She had personally bought her a gift.
“Sally this is from me. Happy birthday.” she said.
Sally collected the bag and brought out a big box and a small box. Inside the big box was a Fendi cross bag and inside the small box was beautiful butterfly wristwatch and a matching bracelet.
Sally immediately hugged Golden who was shocked and wasn't expecting that reaction to the gift.
“Thank you Gigi, they are really lovely and I love them so much.
Xander handed Sally the iPhone and the backstage passes and she began to cry.
“This is your final gift. The backstage passes are courtesy of Gigi's friend.” He said as he handed them over to her.
“Thank you guys, this is truly the best birthday ever.” Sally said as she wiped her tears and hugged Xander and Golden.
“Ouch baby. I've always thrown you awesome parties, but I will give this to Alex and Gigi, they did go the extra mile this year. Even I didn't think of this.” Mona said.
It was soon time for the concert and Xander left Golden and Sally. Mona had decided to stay behind because she had some work emails she needed to deal with.
Mona called Rosa up immediately they left and told her Alex had brought a girl over and introduced her as the love of his life.
Rosa was shocked and asked who she was. She was even more shocked when she learned that it was Golden.
“Girl this is huge! I suspected Alex liked Gigi but I didn't think he was in love with her.” Rosa said over the phone.
“She's such a lovely lady. She's best friend with my Alex, Chen's daughter and she and her brother have been super amazing.
Her brother is even engaged to my Alex and all I can say is that they are a wonderful pair of siblings.” Rosa continued excitedly.
“She really is. I just met her but I can see that she's a very lovely lady. She planned the whole of Sally's birthday surprise and the gifts were very intentional. Plus Sally likes her too.” Mona said.
“Hold up? Did they say they were dating? The last time I checked, Gigi was dating someone else. Or did she break up with her boyfriend?” Rosa asked confused.
“Well they aren't exactly dating. From what I learned today, Alex professed his feelings yesterday to her, and from the looks of it, she hasn't fully accepted him so he's trying to court her.
It makes sense now. She probably just got out of a relationship and isn't ready to fully commit yet. And the Alex we know will never go after another man's woman.” Mona said finally piecing everything together.
“Well I'm happy for them regardless. They both deserve to be loved and are a perfect match.” Rosa said.
