Chapter 154: My Love Language
The following day, Xander came early to pick up Golden. The girls were going to see Grace's Nana. Golden had to pull out because she was going out with Xander.
The driver drove the girls to Grace's Nana's house. They were going to spend the day there and meet up with Golden later for the concert.
“Morning Sunshine. You look absolutely gorgeous today.” Xander said as he gave her a hug and opened the door for her.
“Are you usually this cheeky or is it just me?” Golden asked as she entered the car and fastened her seatbelt.
“Well I'm on a mission to win a gorgeous ladies heart so of course I would be on my best behavior. I can't sell myself short. Anything to make her fall in love with me fast is on the table.” Xander said with a smile as he pulled out of the Manor.
They first stopped at a breakfast parlor to have breakfast since neither of them had eaten. And while they are, they learned about each other's preferences.
Then they went to the mall to shop for Sally. They got her some merch tees. A couple of designer bags, some nice accessories and an iPhone 16.
Xander insisted on getting something for Golden also. She declined, but he wouldn't have it.
“Come on Honey,” he said using another endearment. “This is our first time shopping together. Let your man buy his woman something.”
Golden raised a brow when she heard him. She hadn't agreed to be his woman yet. Wasn't he moving a little too fast? Although she really didn't mind but it all felt strange to her.
“Okay maybe not your man yet, but babe help me out here. How am I supposed to court you if you wouldn't let me do the basic?
One of my love languages is gifting. I see something I think would look good on my woman and I want to get it.
I want to be able to take the woman I love anywhere. I want to pamper her, spoil her with things money can and cannot buy.
I might always be busy, but I don't want to ever be too busy for the love of my life. We are both doctors, and you and I know how it can get.
Now that I can, I want to spoil you silly. I would be back to Florida by Monday, but before I go, I want to register my presence in your heart.
I want when you think of me, you smile. I want to be the first thing on your mind when you wake up, and the last thing on your mind when you go to bed. That's how much I love you Gigi.”
“Okay, Xander. You have me sold. I guess I really don't have a choice then. It would take some getting used to so please be patient with me okay?”
“Of course Honey. Patience is one of my super powers.” Xander said and led her to one of the stores.
They ended up buying a few bottles of perfumes, some fancy shades and a few dresses.
Soon, Sally called Xander and told him she and her mum were in town. Xander had already made a reservation at the hotel he was staying at for them and they had just checked in.
Xander and Golden quickly rushed back to the hotel to see them. Xander had booked an executive suite which had a mini parlor and a large bedroom.
When they knocked on the door, Sally excitedly opened the door and jumped on Xander to give him a hug.
“Hi Pooh. Happy birthday darling.” he said as he twirled her around.
“Hey I'm not Pooh anymore. I'm 12 now. You should stop calling me that.” Sally said as she smacked Xander playfully on the chest.
Sally had been chubby as a child and Xander and her dad had joked that she looked like Winnie the Pooh. And coincidentally she also liked the cartoon so much that they nicknamed her Pooh.
She had lost her baby fat and looked more like her mum now.
“Hi Alex. It's so good to see you. Thank you for celebrating Sally's birthday. Between you and I, I didn't know what to do and honestly I'm actually tired of throwing same old lavish birthday parties. This is a breath of fresh air.” Sally's mum said as she gave Xander a hug and a peck on the cheek.
“Hi Mona. You really look good. As much as I want to claim all the glory, I have to admit that I had help.” Xander said and stepped aside to reveal Golden who was behind him.
Mona widened her eyes in surprise before quickly putting herself in check. “Please come in.” She said ushering them inside the suite.
When they sat, Xander quickly did the introduction. “Golden, this is Sally the birthday girl, and her mum Mona. We grew up together with Rosa and her husband Louis who by the way is my best friend.
“Mona, Sally, this is Golden, the woman I'm madly in love with. She helped plan this whole birthday.” Xander said with a smile.
Golden didn't know when she started coughing. Why would Xander introduce her to his 12 year old goddaughter and her mum as the woman he was madly in love with, the first time she was meeting them?”
“Are you okay Honey?” he said trying to pay her back. It only made it worse because she hadn't gotten over his introduce and he was still calling her Honey.
Mona understood what was happening and went to get Golden some water.
“Here you go Golden, drink this and you will feel better.” she offered her the water.
“Thanks.” Golden collected the water and immediately drank some. After a while, she calmed down and the coughing stopped.
There was some droplets of water on her chin and Xander immediately wiped it off with his handkerchief.
“Are you okay now babe?” he asked a little worried.
Golden couldn't help blushing. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her. Why did he clean her face? They had company but he didn't seem to realize it. She was very shy but quickly nodded before he did something else.
Sally watched the whole drama unfold in front of her. When she was sure that the pretty lady her godfather was madly in love with okay she decided to ask the question on her mind.
“So aunty Golden, are you and uncle Alex dating? Like are you boyfriend and girlfriend?”
“Sally! That's rude. You shouldn't ask such questions.” Mona her mum said immediately. She knew Golden was shy and she didn't want her to feel uncomfortable.
“No mum it's not. Uncle Alex said she's the love of his life, or something like that. Shouldn't they be dating then?” Sally said confused and looked at Xander.
