Chapter 139: Home Sweet Florida
Grace had been in Northbridge right from her first year and she knew the professors better than Golden did.
After her call with Xander, Golden decided to ask Grace about the remaining three professors and what to expect.
Grace had come third last year and Golden felt she was in the best place to help her.
One thing about Golden was, she wasn't too proud to ask for help. As long as it was a knowledge that would benefit her, she wasn't ashamed to ask.
Grace was happy to help Golden out. She was humbled at the fact that Golden had approached her concerning her academics.
Together, they both studied for the exams. And by the time the exams were done, they were all smiles.
Golden had been thinking of going to Florida since the last time Alex and Fab visited.
She was homesick and she really wanted to go home. She missed Allan and wanted badly to see him.
They had a one week break before the start of the next semester. And they had the option to either volunteer in the hospital for the one week or go home.
Volunteering would have been a good idea, but Golden's mind was already in Florida.
Varney had remained in London because he had a Nixon Holdings project ongoing in London.
Golden decided to call Varney to inform him of her intentions to go home.
“Hey V, I'm done with my exams. I wrote my last exam today.” Golden said excitedly.
“That's good. So do you have any break? Do you want to come to London?” Varney asked.
“Yeah we have one week break. What's up with your project? Are you done with it?” she asked.
“Well the major part that needs my physical attention is done. I can handle the rest from home. So do you want me to come pick you up? If I leave now, I should be in your school in an hour forty-five minutes.”
“Can I come by train instead? I promised Grace I would go with her to London by train. We have booked our ride and the train leaves by 8 am tomorrow morning. You can pick me up from the train station by 10 am tomorrow morning.”
Golden enjoyed the train ride. She got to explore England from another view. She eventually fell asleep at some point due to exhaustion.
By the time she arrived at the station, Varney was waiting so she said goodbye to Grace and left with him.
“Hey V? The triplets’ birthday is this weekend and I want to attend. Do you think you can book a flight to Florida for tomorrow?
I want to surprise Alex and everyone. Plus I miss the estate and just want to be home even if it's for just one week.” Golden asked pleadingly.
“Of course. Since I'm done with work here, why wait till tomorrow when we can leave today?”
It's only 10 a.m, there should be an afternoon flight. I'll check it once we get home.
They didn't get a flight for the afternoon, but got one for the night. They decided to go shopping for gifts for the kids.
Golden also got something for Octavia and Rema since it was their birthday too.
Golden was really excited about going to Florida. She couldn't wait to see Allan.
She hadn't told him she was coming. No one knew she was coming into town. Thanks to Alex and Fab, she had bought into the surprise game.
Since Allan had told her he was planning a surprise birthday party for the twins, she decided to show her support since she wasn't going to be around.
Their birthday was on a Friday but the party was going to be held on Saturday in the house.
Allan had kept her updated on his plans and asked her for suggestions and inputs.
She had sent him some money last week to add to his budget. She knew he didn't need the money, but she sent it anyways because she cared.
She couldn't wait to see the look on Allan's face when she showed up at his house.
Florida...
Golden's flight landed at about 4 am on Friday morning. And even though she had flown first class, she was jetlagged and very tired.
The chauffeur was already waiting at the airport and immediately went to get their bags when they came out of the airport.
Golden looked around and took a deep breath. It was just about two years she had been away, but it seemed longer.
The triplets’ birthday party was by 4 pm in the evening and Golden couldn't wait to get home and catch up on some sleep.
Alex had said they were a handful and she needed all the strength she could muster to match their energy.

The triplets party was being held out back and Golden walked into the house to see Rosa chasing on of the babies in diapers.
“Chloe let's put on your party dress. Everyone is waiting to see your beautiful dress.” Rosa said, crawling on her knees trying to get her daughter to put on her Qipao.
Little Chloe had other ideas and walked away from her mother instead. She was holding a chicken feet that she was seriously munching on.
“Gigi please grab that kid.” Rosa said before she realized that Golden was actually in the house. “Hey Gigi, when did you arrive?” Rosa asked, surprised to see Golden.
“Golden picked up the escaping baby. “Hi Chloe, I'm aunty Gigi, you are really cute.” Golden said to the baby in her arms.
As if she understood what Golden said, Chloe gave Gigi a toothy smile and said “gi gi” while she waved her hands.
“Hi Rosa. I got into town by 4 am this morning. It's good to see you again.” Golden said as she bounced the baby on her hip.
“Thanks for grabbing her for me. Please keep her steady so I can dress her up. She's quite a handful.” Rosa said as she rushed to dress Chloe up.
