Chapter 129 Across two worlds
Chapter 129: Across Two Worlds
“Hey babes what's up? Sorry I haven't texted in a while, been busy. School has been crazy plus I've been busy trying to plan the twins 15th birthday.” Allan said exhausted.
“Nah that's fine. I can relate to the craziness of school. Talk about my life everyday.
When exactly is the twins birthday? Gosh I miss Tavia. I can't believe they are turning 15 already.”
“I know right? Their birthday is on the 26th of next month and I'm planning to throw them a surprise party.
They have never really had a party because of Rema's health, but he's doing better now and I think Tavia would really be happy to have a real party for once.”
There was a knock on Golden's door. “Gigi are you done? The Uber we ordered would be at the gate in the next 10 minutes. You know we still have to ride to the gate right?” Kayla said from the door.
“It seems like you girls are going out?” Allan said.
“Yeah we are. Kayla discovered a new restaurant and we decided to try it out. I'll text you when we get back okay? Elsa gets really impatient when we don't meet up with time.”
“Okay babe, have fun.”
Golden couldn't help but smile as she ended the call, picked up her cross bag and exited her room.
Florida...
Allan dropped the phone on his bed and made his way to the bathroom. He had to be in class in about an hour.
He was starting psychiatry rotation this evening and he knew he might not have time to call or text Golden, that was why he called her.
Although they had not seen physically since she left, they had kept in touch via video calls and messages.
Allan got out of the bathroom to see the message light on his phone beeping.
There was a voice note from Trey, and another message from Lindsay.
“Dude please pick up the drinks tomorrow. I have a lot of other shit to put in place before the party.” Trey said in his voice note.
Allan quickly responded with a voice note. “No problem man. I got you. Just let me know if you need me to do any other thing.”
He then opened the message from Lindsay.
“Hey Al, are we still on for tonight?”
He quickly responded. “Sorry Lin, would have to pass. Have a lot to do. How about we go pick up drinks tomorrow for the party?”
“Sure. It's a date then.”
Allan chuckled at the message. Lindsay was always looking for an excuse to “go on a date” with him.
He didn't know how she managed to find time to still hangout with him. Since she graduated, she made sure to always pull him out.
She was working for a fashion magazine and although Allan was still in Medical School, she didn't mind at all and still hung out with him.
Trey on the other hand decided to continue with his masters in theater and performing arts and was looking to lecture at OCU and was working as an assistant lecturer.
Allan had made some really good money from the last exhibition he did. He had done three more exhibitions since that time and equally made a lot of money.
People really liked and appreciated his art and slowly he was begining to make a name for himself in the art world.
Lindsay had laid the groundwork for him. She had pulled some strings and gave him the connections. However, he used his works to slowly establish himself.
By the second exhibition, he had made his first 1 million. He got himself a very nice car, nothing too expensive or flashy. Just something cool enough to get him to places when he didn't want to ride his bike.
He was a medical student now and he really couldn't be always seen on a power bike.
He had done four exhibitions so far and had made a few millions. It was safe to say that he was a self-made millionaire.
Northbridge...
The girls soon arrived at the school gate and parked their bikes.
Their Uber was waiting at the visitors car park and they strode towards the car.
The restaurant that Kayla had discovered was really nice and fancy and it was in the upscale part of Northbridge.
She had already made a reservation to the waiter took them to their table.
“Wow Kayla this is really nice, but are you sure that the food wouldn't be too expensive?” Grace asked.
“Well of course it's definitely pricey but I'm sure it's not too pricey. Maybe a few hundred pounds, depending on what you eat.” Kayla responded as she scanned the menu.
“Since I suggested we do fancy, I will cover the bill no matter how much it costs” Golden said.
Golden was in a really good mood. That call with Allan had really got her all giggly.
This was the first time they were dining together outside school and Golden felt like giving her girls a treat.
She missed doing this with Alex and Fab and she didn't mind spending a few thousand pounds.
She wasn't trying to show off. Her new friends didn't judge her and were not really bothered by her financial status.
She just wanted to have a good time with them like she would have done with her friends back home.
“Okay money bag. How much is our limit?” Elsa asked. She kind of reminded Golden of Alex. She had a sarcastic nature which was a good balance for her perfectionist side.
“How about we put it at a thousand pounds?” Golden said. She didn't want to do too much, but at the same time she had money to spend.
“Wait, what?” Grace exclaimed. She almost choked on her saliva. “A thousand pounds for just one meal?
Girl I know you are rich, but how rich are you?” She asked still surprised.
Golden didn't say anything but just smiled. She had carefully studied these ladies for the past two years and knew that they were genuine.
Anyone who could afford to attend Northbridge wasn't a pauper. They must earn at least six figures annually.
She was sure there were hidden billionaires on campus, but everyone went about their day on a bicycle.
