Chapter 92
Lyca wakes up in a room with no feeling in her body. But she still manages to sit on the bed and lean on the headboard. "Good God, what the heck happened?" Since she just woke up, her mind isn't working right.
The door then opened, and Xavier came in carrying a tray of food. "Hey, what's up? What's your mood?" He asked with a hint of a smile on his face.
"Sore and numb, and I don't know why," Lyca signed back with irritation.
"You passed out while you were fighting with Madison," Xavier said as he stirred the soup. He didn't take his eyes off of Lyca's face.
When Lyca hears the name Madison, she remembers everything, and as she remembers what happens, she also remembers why she is so angry. "You're to blame!" Lyca snatched the bowl of soup from Xavier's hand, which made her angry.
Xavier smiled as he took the bowl of soup from Lyca for the second time. "My little princess, don't tell me you're still jealous of your aunt?" He gave Lyca a playful pinch on the cheek.
"Huh! Because you find it funny when you talk to her. Even though I've only been gone for a few hours, you're already using titles." Lyca yelled, and her eyes got smaller.
"Madison is your cousin, so I have no reason to-"
"Huh! I don't care! I don't want you to walk around half-naked with other people. My aunt is still a woman, Xavier!"
"Ha Ha Ha! You're so cute when you're jealous, my princess... But I need to make one thing clear. I won't take off my clothes in front of other women, not even your family..."
Lyca frowns at how much Xavier is lying. "Stop your nonsense! You did it already!"
With a big smile, Xavier wrote his name. "This shouldn't be my job to explain... It would be better to wait until Madison explains everything "He said this as he shook his head.
Lyca made a sad face and looked at Xavier. "Have I forgotten something? What are you saying?"
He looked at Lyca and let out a sigh. "Madison is a guy. So you don't have to be angry when you see me with him."
"A man? Is Aunt Madison a guy?" Lyca yelled out in fear. Then she held Xavier's face in her hands and looked at him intently. "Xavier, you can't pull jokes like that! I liked it better when you were scary and serious "she said in a serious way.
"My princess, I'd rather die than be funny..." Xavier gave a serious answer.
"He's not making it up... What's happening? When she saw the truth in Xavier's eyes, Lyca said to herself. " Aunt Madison told me that she is the twin of my mother, and she is-"
"I don't know the details, but trust me, Madison is a guy!" Xavier retorted. "So, now that we know what went wrong, let's eat."
Even though Lyca was still trying to figure out what she had just learned, she ate the food that Xavier gave her.
After a few minutes, Xavier said, "By the way, the priestess came by to tell us that the ceremony would be earlier than planned."
"Huh! Why a sudden change?"
"She didn't say why, but tomorrow night is the date she gave. So, if your grandmother is teaching you something, you should hurry because there isn't much time, "Xavier retorted.
Lyca had a deep thought. If the Priestess does something now, it only shows that she knows what her grandmother is doing to get ready for her. "Can you tell me what happened with my fight last night?"
He got into bed with her. "You were faster and stronger than Madison, but when it came to fighting skills, you were behind. Your lack is made worse by your magic "He talked about how they almost died when they were in Lyca's hands.
"You're right. When my range gets too far, I pass out." She agreed with irritation.
She doesn't know why it's happening. Even though her grandmother taught her, she's still lost herself more than once. Then, many things happened when she got back...
"I can't believe how strong you are," Xavier said with a sneer. "It would be easy to destroy this village if you want to..."
Even though Xavier's joke made Lyca frown, she knew it was true. "I can't control my power, so it's best to seal it for good..."
"I don't think you need to do that... Even though you weren't yourself last night, you still paid attention to me. As soon as I pick you up, you stop "Xavier said this with happiness.
Lyca looked at Xavier as she thought about what her mother had said in the past. So Xavier can help me get my mind back... She told herself, "As long as I have him, I won't be bad." She smiled. "That's right. Don't worry about me, because I'm with you."
Xavier rests her head on his shoulder. "I will protect you. So, there's nothing to worry about..."
Lyca feels better after hearing those words from Xavier. "Tell me anyway what you think I did last night, and do you know why it happened?"
Xavier put his head back. "You should ask Madison, but I'm afraid now is not the right time to do that..."
"Why? You said that the choice would be made tomorrow night... So, we can't waste any time!" Lyca replied with a frown.
Since Xavier didn't want to explain everything, he decided to bring Lyca to Madison.
"Can you tell us why we're here again?" Lyca asked as she looked at the cave's entrance.
"After the fight with you, Madison asked us to bring him here," Xavier said as he pulled Lyca into the cave.
"Is this place safe? Don't tell me that my aunt wouldn't accept the fact that I beat her, so she became a monk." Lyca said something back while holding Xavier tight. She hasn't been able to call him Madison's uncle until now because she doesn't think of him as a man.
"In fact, I've never been inside before. So, I'm just as interested as you, "Xavier said this while he was smiling.
Before Xavier and Lyca could see the light, they had to walk for a few minutes in the dark. "I think that's where it is," the latter said with a frown.
"Wow! This place is really something! I didn't think the cave would turn out to be a tunnel that led to a mansion!" In excitement, Xavier replied.
"This is probably something Witches do often!" Lyca said something as she looked at the grand house.
Then, all of a sudden, the main door opened, and Xavier and Lyca looked at each other and signed.
"It's strange... So, you can't try this trick on me right now. I'd rather see your face every time I walk in the door "As the two of them walked into the house, Xavier spoke in a whisper.
———
"Madison, come out! Lyca had something to ask you!" Xavier stood in the middle of the living room and screamed.
A few minutes went by, but Madison didn't answer.
"She might not be here... Let's see if she is there, "Lyca said so.
When they heard a loud noise, they turned around to leave. Xavier and Lyca are both thinking the same thing as they look at each other.
"Madison is in danger!" They ran together to find out what was going on.
But they were met with thick smoke.
"Madison!" Xavier yelled and mirrored the whole room.
"I'm fine! Don't worry about anything!"
But when Xavier and Lyca hear the strange voice, they frown.
"Is that you, Aunt Madison?" Lyca asked him when he first saw a shadow in the thick smoke.
