182 Rule the world

**Elizabeth's POV**

*

Seeing them throw the explosives into the sea, I told Isidore and Louis, "We'd better leave. Tell Brandon and the others what's going on over here first. See what they have planned."

Then we three left quietly.

After listening to our report, Brandon said after thinking, "The wisest option is to take advantage of the process of the fight between the merman and the Blood Moon pack. We secretly sneak into the bottom and take the treasure."

Dylan suddenly interjected, "You guys go to the bottom of the sea to find the treasure. I'll stay alone on the beach to fight with the Blood Moon pack. As the former alpha of the sea, I should protect my people. I have not been a competent alpha of the sea for the past 10,000 years. They can betray me and hate me, but I cannot abandon them and hate them."

It seems that Dylan has really reflected on his faults. He used not to care about hurting anyone except Isabella.

Now he is willing to take responsibility for his people, in addition to caring for his lover.

I appreciate him more now.

I proposed, "How about this? We split into two teams, half of you go down with me to find the treasure, and the other half helps the merman expel the Blood Moon pack warriors and be ready to drive the plane to pick us up and leave."

We soon came to an agreement.

Caleb, Austin, Brandon, and I quietly dive to the bottom of the sea.

Elroy is the strongest fighter among all of us, so he has to be engaged in the battle. Francis also has a strong attack with his flame. Louis and Isidore can fly, and they have an advantage in the battle.

Julian can use his scepter in the plane to assist in the fight. With the five of them helping Dylan, there should be a better chance of winning.

After the plan was made, we set out.

As we approached the sea, we heard a loud explosion.

I saw a flash of orange leaping out of the sea. That should be the orange-tailed merman.

After he tricked me into helping him defeat Dylan, he should now be the new alpha of this sea.

Hopefully, he will be a competent and benevolent good alpha.

The ten of us moved separately.

I dive into the sea as I watch Dylan and the others run toward the area where the explosion is taking place.

The mermen and the Blood Moon pack of werewolves were already fighting, and hopefully, they wouldn't lose.

We all drank Dylan's blood, and we could breathe freely in the water.

I was wearing a dress made from Dylan's scales, and I could swim incredibly fast in the water. So I took Caleb's hand, Caleb took Brandon and Austin's hands, and we swam together in a string.

The swim to the bottom took me at least half an hour.

Luckily, no mermaids found us. Perhaps it was because the Blood Moon pack had launched an attack on the sea, and there were almost no other creatures on the bottom.

I searched for the location of the treasure with my memory. Soon I found the entrance.

"I think it is right here."

I pointed to the moss-covered rock and said, "I remember the treasure is behind the rock. And I hid the green crystal necklace and the golden feather here. And my ring..."

I turned the rock as I spoke. The hole where the treasure was buried slowly opened.

As I expected, I was greeted by golden coins and jewels.

"Oh my moon goddess, the treasure is real!" Caleb exclaimed.

"But how are we going to take these gold coins with us? It's too much! It will be hard for us to take them away unnoticed." Austin said.

"Julian's plane should be able to carry the gold. But it is impossible to do it quietly. The plane will be spotted once it gets close to the sea," Brandon analyzed.

I smiled and said, "It doesn't matter. As long as I get back the green crystal necklace and the golden feather, I'll be the most powerful. I'm not afraid of being found out because no one can stop me."

I looked down to find the necklace and feather I had buried nearby, but things didn't seem to be going as smoothly as I thought.

"I remember putting it here..." I muttered.

Then I dug in a different place, "Maybe it's here..."

Brandon noticed my reaction was off, "What's wrong, Elizabeth? Did you forget where you hid the necklace and feather?"

"No. I remember. It was right here. I put it with the treasure. But...it's strange that I can't find it..."

Caleb said, "It doesn't matter. We'll help you find it together. It must be around here."

Austin also said, "Yes. I'll search too."

We four all lowered our heads and dug nearby, looking carefully for the two little things.

"Are you looking for this?" A voice suddenly appeared, making us all startled.

Why were we utterly unaware of someone approaching us?

We looked up and saw the orange-tailed merman suddenly appear, holding the green crystal necklace we were all looking for.

My heart almost jumped out of my mouth.

Something was terribly wrong.

Why would he know where I hid the treasure? Had he followed me that day?

"It's mine. Give it back to me!"

But he didn't give it to us, but put it around his own neck, "Unfortunately, it's mine now."

"Oh, and this, the golden feather, it belongs to me too." The orange-tailed merman showed us the golden feather and asked, "But I don't know how to use it yet. Can you teach me?"

"Oh, by the way, all those jewels and gold coins belong to me now too. Please don't be angry. Because it's useless to be angry."

He was deliberately provoking us.

"Give it back to us! You can't steal our things!" I yelled angrily.

"It's been a long time, Elizabeth. You're still so naive and gullible. How can I give back to you such great things that can bring me wealth and power? Unless you guys snatch them back."

"But, you are not able to snatch them back."

Suddenly, he appeared in front of us like lightning and grabbed me by the neck.

"Let her go!"

Caleb and the other two tried to rush up to save me, but a bolt of lightning stopped them.

Lightning? Why was there lightning at the bottom of the sea?

At that moment, I noticed that the orange-tailed merman was also holding a scepter in his hand.

It was Julian's scepter!

"What did you do to Julian and Dylan? What have you done to them?" I questioned him with a trembling voice.

"Are you talking about those six idiots who ran out to help me? Don't worry, I haven't killed them yet. I'm not a cruel, murderous guy. Even though I don't even need their help, I'm appreciative of it, especially since they sent me a new treasure."

The orange-tailed merman showed me the scepter he was holding.

"I really like this scepter. I saw that little dwarf use the scepter to summon thunder and wind. It has the same magical power as the green crystal necklace. Now it belongs to me too. By the way, I was lying to you earlier when I said I didn't know how to use the golden feather."

"Thank you, Elizabeth, you are my lucky star. Since you appeared, everything has been going so smoothly. You left these precious treasures to me. You also helped me to defeat Dylan. Now I have gained most of Dylan's power, and with these magical treasures in my hand, I am invincible."

"Don't be afraid, Elizabeth. As my reward to you, I've decided to let you witness my great feat of ruling this world. And then kill you last."

"Rule the world? What do you want to do?" I was stunned by his words. I suddenly realized that his ambition might be far beyond my imagination.

"I am thinking, since 70% of this world is sea, then why not let the remaining 30% become sea as well? How ridiculous for those creatures living on land, who obviously live in such a small area, to think they are the masters of this world."

"I decided to eliminate those stupid and arrogant land creatures and let the seawater spread throughout the world. From now on, the world will not be separated, the world will be connected. My people will be free to roam in the seawater wherever they want."

God, he's crazy! He's going to drown every living creature that lives on land!

"You can't do that! You can't kill that many creatures!"

"I can! I'm powerful enough to do everything I envision.

Also, I didn't intend to kill that many creatures. I only intended to kill you ten guys. As for the other creatures, I will not kill them, they will die from their inability to breathe in the water and their inability to adapt to the environment. They will be eliminated by the laws of the forest."

Suddenly, the seaweed around us grew violently, entangling the orange-tailed merman and quickly wrapping him into a cocoon.

"Elizabeth! Run!" Caleb shouted to me. I then realized he was the one who made the seaweed grow.

"You think that's going to trap me? Naive!" Two hands with sharp nails ripped open the cocoon and reached out.

Caleb could only continue to let the seaweed grow and re-wrap around him.

"Elizabeth, run! I can't hold on much longer!"

Austin and Brandon also rushed up and slashed the orange-tailed merman's arm with their swords.

"You guys are really going to piss me off! I'm going to kill you all!"

"Elizabeth! Run! Let us deal with him!" Austin and Brandon both yelled.

I knew they were definitely no match for the orange-tailed merman. If I left them behind, they would definitely die.

"Let's go together!"

I rushed up and pulled the three of them upstream as fast as I could.

After perhaps only a few dozen seconds, the orange-tailed merman was utterly free from the tangle of seaweed. But he did not promptly catch up with us, but watched our escape with aplomb.

I'm familiar with that contemptuous look. It was like the look of a cat facing a mouse. He was teasing us, and he took pleasure in our panic.

"Run, just run, the whole world will be under my rule. You have nowhere to run!"

The orange-tailed merman let out a loud laugh and exclaimed, "Go on! Go to the surface of the sea and see how the sea drowns the whole continent! You all have the honor of being witnesses! Open your eyes wide and watch the miracle unfold!"

He waved his scepter, chanted an incantation, and a tremendous bolt of lightning seemed to split the sky.

Even in the depths of the sea, we could feel the power of lightning and thunder.

Amidst the terrifying thunder, torrential rain poured down.

When we four finally swam to the surface, what we saw was a scene comparable to the end of the world.

The corpses of the werewolves of the Blood Moon pack were floating on the sea surface. These guys wanted to use the scales of mermen to make armor to protect themselves, but they didn't expect to die under the sharp claws of the mermen.

Countless dark mermen were tearing open the bellies of these corpses and gnawing on their internal organs.

The sea had flooded the beach, and I couldn't find where Dylan and the others were. I was so afraid that they had become one of those corpses.

"Julian! Francis! Where are you?"
