Chapter 88 - Hour 88
I did not realize when I started to cry but I did. The hug comforted me enough to enable me to bare my heart and soul.
My face was buried in his chest and his embrace kept me warm.
I cried until my heart felt light and my throat was sore. It was not just me; I could feel the fabric on my shoulder becoming wet. Zayd was crying, too.
"Never disappear again, Zayd," I said, my voice hoarse from all the crying, "Never leave me alone again. Please. I thought I had lost you."
"I thought I had lost you, too, even before I could hug you once," said Zayd, "Or tell you how much you mean to me."
"But we are here now, and our hearts are beating," I said, losing myself in his arms. I gave up all control.
"It's funny how we departed as strangers but united again as the closest mates," he said. "I don't know you and yet I know you completely."
I laughed a little but agreed with him.
Amidst the doubts and uncertainties,
Your promise made me believe.
Burdened with questions,
Your life lays out a confusing maze to solve and defeat.
Whether you had betrayed me was never a question,
Seeing you again had become my life's only intention.
Scared to the bone, My eyes grew tired of tears,
My knees ceased to be strong,
And I was staring at all my fears.
Whether you were alive or dead was my only question,
With Silent hope and an aggressive faith,
I set out in search of your embrace, To lay my head against your chest and at least once breathe without any stress.
Trial after trial,
Your search put me through hell,
Unveiling new horrors at every next level of this seemingly never-ending game.
I firmed my heart, Fought with my mind,
But stayed calm,
Keeping your thoughts in sight.
I thought I had lost you,
But now you're found.
The what-ifs have shattered, And darkness withdrawn, The moon is smiling, So, let's walk towards a new dawn.
Of all things unsure,
There's one thing of which I'm sure,
Never belittle love, For it's stronger than any foe.
