Cara went in the ambulance with Liana, while Zayd and I followed behind in the car.

We did not speak but the silence was a comforting one.

I was not entirely out of shock. I was still processing everything; I was finally allowing myself to express my emotions.

Zayd was also recovering from the shock. He had even refused to drive, so I was behind the wheels.
