Chapter 77 Their luna

Chapter 77 Their luna
“You still need to rest darling”, Idris spoke as he finished buttoning his double breasted black coat. “Am fine, don’t worry about me”, l reached out and flattened his lapels before pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek. Though everything that happened last night were frightening, l was surprisingly feeling alright this afternoon.

“It’s my responsibility….”

“No Idris not this time, you have been requested to attend the rescheduled meeting this afternoon”, l cut him off in mid sentence.

“If you had gotten up on time this morning, it wouldn’t have been rescheduled”, l slapped him on his chest. “You know l was occupied with something far more pressing”, He smirked mischievously. I blushed at his words. Even in the night of terror, he still didn’t keep his hands to himself and I couldn’t also stop him.

“Snoring through sunrise isn’t reason enough to shrink your responsibilities”, l swatted him on the arm. “You more important…”, Just as he started , the door I’mmediately burst open. “Zara”, He growled her name. “Don’t scowl at me, l knocked”, She spoke quickly. “l came here for the Luna”, She added.

“Am going to attend the meeting and she is free”, Idris answered.

“Is the Raelynn going to join you?”, Zara’s question caught me off guard.

“A Luna is supposed to be on the Alpha’s side but she isn’t feeling well”, He rubbed at the back of his neck as he spoke. “I will go, Zara are you also coming”, l intervened in their conversation.

“You don’t have to come if you not feeling well”, He turned to me. “Am coming”, l spoke boldly. “Am also coming, Raelynn let me go get you the dress, l made for you”, Zara spoke then quickly ran out of the room. “We’ll get dressed up, am gonna be waiting for you downstairs”, Idris spoke and after me nodding my head, he walked out of the room.

As soon as he slammed the door behind his back, I relaxed my shoulders with a sigh and made my way to the door. Anxiety was wearing me down at the thought of being surrounded by dozens of different leaders. I accepted to join all because it was my duty. I raced in the bathroom for a moment. It was an attempt to calm my nerves and racing thoughts.

As quick as I could, l lastly showered, wove the top half of my unruly hair up with white ribbons then left only few strays curls down my back. With that done, l walked out of the bathroom only to find Zara waiting for me.

“I have got something bright for you”, She beamed excitedly. “Dress up, let me go do the same”, She added after putting it in my hands. With her gone, l carefully put it on. It was a blue-grey with long sleeves that hung off my shoulders and the neckline split low down my chest between my breasts. A myriad of little white and blue flowers adorned the neckline and the bodice of the dress until they seemed to fall away and spread along the waist until there was no more past my hips.

The sleeves were sheer and flowed like clouds on the air with movements. Finishing the designs were two slits cut up along the skirts and revealed my legs as I walked. “Wait Raelynn, this is the finishing touch”, She was quickly again in the room and just as l shook my head in amazement, she began to adorn my nexk with a dainty choker of white gold with three miniature round diamonds hanging from it. The neckline of the dress and the placement of the choker worked to bring attention to the swell of my breasts. I didn’t hate it. “Wow”, She giggled after staring at my breasts.

“Thanks , it’s really beautiful”, l smiled. “I knew it that you would love it”,

“Let me go dress up, Idris is waiting for you downstairs”, She again rushed out of the room. I just shook my head in response. She wasn’t only talkative but also hilarious.

After walking out of the room, l noticed that Idris was surely waiting at the base of the stairs. His back was to me and it gave me the chance to admire his height and the broad shoulders under the black coat. At the sound of my shoes, he turned and looked at me. His ocean blue eyes I’mmediately frenzied with heat as he roamed over my attire.

“Why are you creating the beast out of me?”, His voice was deep and strained as he spoke. “Have l done anything wrong?”, Though l knew what he meant, l feigned innocent. As he put his arm out for me to take when I reached the base of the stairs, l saw how his chest heaved with each heavy breath he took while restraining the angry beast with in him.

After noticing it l ended up smiling in victory. “Your fellow Alphas are waiting for you”, l cooed Innocently as we began to walk arm in arm down the hall. “I can change my plans”, A smug grin appeared on his face. “Ah! The hubris of an Alpha”, l rolled my eyes. “You already rescheduled from this morning and now everyone’s planned evening meal is being interrupted for this last minute Dinner meeting”, l went on

He just smirked in response. The minutes that followed we walked in silence but the closer we got the more anxiety l felt budding within my chest like a rapidly growing stone. “There’s something worrying most of the packs”, He uttered with a slight shrug. “What is that?”, His words worsened my nerves.

“It’s just some organization that is against supernatural creatures, they have every tool and material that can make supernatural creatures like us vanish from the earth”, He responded. I noticed a hint of hurt in his voice. “Like silver bullets, l heard they can kill vampires”, l spoke in a low voice.

“Sadly they can kill us too”, There was silence after his words. I was worried but I had no word to say.

The servant bowed his head and opened up the door for us. I waited for Idris to let go of my hand but he didn’t do so. As soon as I entered dozens of eyes narrowed and turned on like daggers and then whispers started. Hushed murmurs through the dimly lit room that sounded like snakes hissing in the dark of the night.

Servants finished setting the dishes along the massive table and most of them parted as I walked with Idris. I kept my head held high as we headed to table.

“Is that the human Luna”

“This is my first time to see her”

“She has beautiful hair, l have never seen hair of that color”,

“There’s something about her that seems to glow”

The whispers dug their claws in my neck and l felt my throat constrict as gossip spread.
