Chapter 76 sleep with me
A loud slam of the door woke me up from my tumultuous dream. I bolted up in the bed and as soon as my eyes snapped open, l saw Idris barging into the room. His features appeared pinched and frazzled as he raced the breeze. The door swung closed after the force of being brutally shoved open.
“Darling are you alright?”, He quickly approached the right side of the bed. “I’m fine what has happened?”, I rubbed the last traces of sleep from my eyes before blinking at him. Before he could answer, thunder I’mmediately rumbled outside and a gust of wind blew droplets of water into the room. “The house”, He paused and ran his hand through his hair.
“The whole fucking house shuddered”, He went on. “Because of the storm?”, My eyes flickered to the open window. Idris followed my gaze then shook his head. “This wasn’t a storm, it was magic”, He responded and his words made my mind to recall the nightmare, l just had. “I think it was caused by me, I’m sorry”, Tears we’re already brimming in my eyes.
“Was it a nightmare? What was it about?”, He asked with concern in his voice.
“Dreams that can shake the world around us, most of the times come as a sign of warning, tell me what was that abo…”, Before he could complete the sentence, a knock quickly sounded on the door.
“Come in”, Idris responded in a gruffy tone.
“Huh! Raelynn sweetie, are you alright, l came to check on you”, Zara quickly rushed into the room then ran to my side.
“I am fine, nothing has happened to me”, l lied with a fake smile on my face.
“She had a dream that caused storm and rain”, Idris informed her.
“What was it about Raelynn?, I also had a feeling that something was perhaps wrong”, Zara spoke as she cupped my cheeks.
“Whom did you fight with in the dream? What did she or he tell you in the dream?”, Idris’s question made fear to flow down my spine. I wasn’t ready to tell them anything but then I had a feeling that they might help me.
“I saw something like a black…..”, Just as l began to explain another knock sounded on the door. “Come in”, It was Zara who called out and then Mark, Idris’s beta quickly entered in. “What is it?”, Idris asked when his eyes fall on him.
“Alpha, A cyhyraeth has been spotted in the forest in the south, some guards spotted it near a trail then it headed to North still walking around our pack”, Mark spoke after bowing his head.
“What? My goodness”, Zara’s mouth dropped open in shock.
“What has happened, what is a crhyraeth?”, I intervened quickly sitting up.
“Shadow creatures, it’s a bad omen, they are nasty creatures, lts been a long time since I last saw one”, Idris answered.
“Shadow creatures… shadow creatures….. Noo my goodness” The word resounded in my head and before I could stop myself bile I’mmediately rose in my throat. Without thinking l quickly pushed myself out of the bed then rushed to the trash can.
“What has happened Raelynn? , Is the dream connected to all what is happening?”, Raelynn was already behind me but I was already crying while spilling everything l had eaten in the trash can. The demoness was right, l was going to have miscarriage again. “Idris am scared, that cyhyraeth is screaming death and few days ago we found a whispering death in Raelynn’s bed, who is going to die?”, Raelynn was so scared but still she slowly patted my back.
“ What! A whispering death. Why in the nine hells did no one fucking say anything to me in time?”, Idris raged and his fist nearly broke. To say that the Idris was upset was an understatement. His face was contorted with rage and anger. “We didn’t want to worry you, so we handled it”, Zara spoke while pulling me into her chest. “It was not handled, someone left a deadly snake in her bed and it would have killed her”, Idris growled.
“Idris…”, I stepped away from Zara then made my to him to soothe him but my feet swayed away on the way. Zara quickly steadied me and pulled me back to her chest. Idris’s eyes softened as he looked over to me. “Well we will have to investigate about the incident but there’s not much we can do about it now”, Mark rubbed his chin and sighed.
“Raelynn is still weak from healing the girl”, Zara spoke while running her hands through my hair. “Fuck the party, l want the guards to search everywhere and get me the person who had access to the fucking whispering death snake”, Idris’s teeth gnawed as he growled. “Am gonna order the security guards to do it”, Mark mumbled.
“I want to sleep”, Feeling tired of their topic, l whispered softly then slowly began to make my way to the bed. On my way to the bed, l felt my legs tremble but before I could fall down, Idris quickly reached for me. “Raelynn darling, why didn’t you tell me?”, Idris asked in a low voice as he pulled me into his chest.
“I will show no mercy to anyone who would dare try to harm you”, He added while running his fingers through my hair. “Zara killed the snake”, l whispered trying to calm him. “Whoever left the snake is surely ready to do another thing to harm her”, Mark spoke and I trembled. “I want guards to keep an eye on everyone in the pack”, Idris growled.
“Yes Alpha, let me go and order more guards”, Mark bowed his head and walked out of the room.
“Whom do you think left the whispering death snake in Raelynn’s room?”, Idris asked Zara.
“I think she is a woman”, Zara retorted. Her answer made my mind to run to Harriet, the bitch Idris used to sleep with but then l inwardly shook my head. The demoness might have used someone else to put the whispering death snake in my bed.
