Chapter 102 : "Olivia Tate"

H A R R Y

SPAIN

The following morning, Tate showed me around Spain too like how I showed her Cheshire. I've been to Spain before but not as fun as I have with her and I've never been toured this much around this place. I didn't even know there were places around here that existed and I never even knew about it if Tate didn't showed me around. And when we were here, we never got to see Spain that much because we were on tour.

Tate showed me off to some museums, some art galleries, magnificent sceneries that truly wowed me, amazing cathedrals, we even went to the school she went to when she was in elementary and so many other places that we enjoyed till we got tired. There were fans who crowded us though when they saw me and walked up to us to ask for my picture and autograph but my good thing Sam and Ryan were there to secure us.

By almost six in the evening, Tate wanted to go to this last place that she wanted me to. Of course I wouldn't say no to her. She let Sam and Ryan go home since she said the place we will go to didn't have much people. As soon as Tate said that we needed to pull over, I hurriedly stepped on the break.

"We're here?" I ask her.

She nods vigorously as she stares outside and answers me, "Yes." I look out of my window too and I was surprised that we were here in the cemetery. I know who we came here for.

Her mother.

Tate moved her head back down at me.

"I want you to meet mom." She smiles at me.

I smiled back at her. "That would be amazing."

"Alright. Let's go." She says.

I clicked the button to open the car's lock for us to step out of the car. As soon as it was opened, she grabs the bouquet of tulips from the backseat and hopped off from the car. I knew she was excited to visit her mother again which also makes me excited to be meeting her too. I quickly followed Tate and slammed the door behind me. I take her hand to mine as we walk together inside the cemetery.

"You didn't tell me we were going to be here." I tell her.

She chuckles softly. "If I told you, you'd be scared."

My brows creasing. "Why would I be scared?"

"Because it's a cemetery."

I snorted. "I've been to cemeteries before Tate. Come on, that's not really a big deal right now."

She sighs. "It's because we were touring all around Spain the entire day and we're ending it by visiting my mom here."

I rub her hand for a while and gently kissed the back of it. "I wanna meet your mom Tate."

She stares at me for a while and the eventually smiled. "She'll be excited to meet you too."

It was very eerily peaceful, of course it's peaceful. It's a cemetery. The birds were the only ones chirping while they were flying above us. Though the place looked like it was surrounded by huge and tall trees that makes it look hunted, but as soon as we got through them, I was really amazed at how vast the entire place was through that little forest.

"I've made a promise to myself before when I was a kid." She begins to speak again.

"Yeah? What?"

"That once I found the man that I think I will share a lifetime with, I'll be introducing him to my mom right away even though my two brothers and father will be hard on him because I know she will love him for me." She narrated.

We continued walking together hand in hand as we head to her mom's tomb.

"And that's what I'm going to do." Tate adds while she smiles at me.

"I'll be so honored to meet her then." I answer.

She smiles at me.

When we reached her mom's tomb, Tate knelt down before it and pushed away the dried leaves that covered her mother's name. Once the dried leaves were gone, Tate placed the bouquet next to her mom's tomb and stood back up next to me. I began to read her name which was Olivia Tahini Teresita Gracia Kavanaugh.

"Hey mom. How have you been lately?" I watch as Tate talks to her mom as if she's really there.

"You might be wondering who he is." Tate glares at me then looks back at the tomb. "Well, this is Harry Styles. He's my boyfriend." She smiles at me as she lace her arm around my arm.

I smiled at the tomb. "Hi mam. Its a pleasure to be actually meeting you right now."

Tate giggles softly as she rests her head against my bicep. "Too bad you couldn't see him anymore mama. I'm sure you'd love him. He's a very famous singer. He plays the piano too just like dad. He's loves singing to his millions of fans and he has the hugest heart a man could ever have. He's really nice mom and I really wish you'd meet him."

I rub my hand over the hand that she was using to cling on to me. "Well, Harry I want you to meet my mother with a very long name. She's the best mother I've ever had too bad she didn't get to live that longer to see me."

I smiled ruefully. "She has a very beautiful lengthy name though."

Tate smiles. "Damn she has. Well, I got my Olivia from her. And as for Tahini, it means a smooth paste of sesame seeds. She was named by grandma tahini because grandma loved eating that when she was carrying my mom."

I chuckle softly while Tate joins me.

"And as for Teresita, that happens to be my grandma's name that's why." She adds.

I stare at her tomb even longer then looked back at Tate. "That's why you were named Tate, because you were named after your mom too. T-A from Tahini and T-E from Teresita."

She nods. "My mom really loves combining names. Julio was named after our grandfather and his second name from our dad's. Luis was from mom's dad and she got his Andres from a singer celebrity she had a huge crush on while she was carrying Luis. And it looks like mine was something better than tahini."

Tate chuckles. "Thank God though or else I'll be so mad at mom for naming me Tahini."

I smile as I kiss her hair. "Your family is amazing Tate. And even though I didn't get to meet your mother personally, I know she's as nice as you. I know she's an amazing woman because she raised you pretty well."

"She really is an amazing woman." She agrees.

Tate squats down again and grabs the picture frame from the tomb. As soon as she stands back up, she hands it to me and says, "That's her."

A smile creeps on my face as soon as I saw her mother's picture. Her father was totally right when he said that Tate really looked exactly like her mom when she was younger. I could see the clear similarities on both of them, from everything on the face and to her smile. They looked alike. They looked more like sisters if she just get to live longer and saw Tate grow up.

"You know..." She trails off.

I look back down at Tate while she kept looking at her mother's portrait that was on my band.

"When I'm sad about something or when I miss mom, I'd come here and talk to her about it. Whenever I'm here it feels like I'm with her again. Whenever Julio and Luis would quarrel me, I'd be here. Just telling mom how they bullied me and then eventually it would make me feel better." Tate laughs softly.

She sighs. "I miss my mama."

I laced my arm around her back and just held her close. She wraps her arms around me too and rested her head against my chest.

"I miss having her around. I miss when she's scolding Julio and Luis even though I'm the one who did something bad. I miss her. I really miss her so much." Tate begins to muffle and sniff.

I place my palm over her back and just rubbed her spine. I glare at her and saw her tears coming out from her eyes. "It's alright now. Your mom's in a better place."

I sigh and then realized that that's why her father titled that piece as Better Place because he knows that she will be in a better place soon.

"That's why dad composed that piece because it was for mama. He'd always play it to let mama listen to it whenever she wants to hear it. He even played it during her burial which made everyone tear up. Dad even finished that song before mama died that's why I think he titled it Better Place because after all those treatments she's been through, dad knows she'll be in a better place then." She breathes.

I held onto Tate tighter and just kissed the top of her head as I kept rubbing her back. I felt bad for their family because they lost their mother at a young age and she didn't get to see her children grew up. But at the same time I'm moved by what her father did for her mom. It would be the most amazing and sweetest thing a man could ever do to the one he loves.

I know it must have been really hard for Tate and her two brothers to be loosing their mom too soon but it must have been harder for their dad. He was right about raising three kids all alone and that's not an easy job to be a single parent most especially he has two sons. I know it was hard for him because I've seen my mum work her ass off just to pay our daily expenses. It was hard for her because there were two of us but it must be harder for Mr. Kavanaugh because there's three of them. But then I know he's strong because he thinks of his deceased wife as his inspiration to live life with their kids.

"Ever since then I've been asking dad to play it for me when mom died. Even when he's tired from work he'd play it just for me. Even when he comes home late from work, I'd stay up to wait for him just so I could hear him play. That's why he taught Julio that song but it always feels different when dad plays that piece. It's as if mom is listening with me." She adds.

Tate pulled her head up to me and kissed my jaw before she told me she loves me which made me smile. She turns back her attention to her mom and we grew quiet for a while.

"If you were still here mom, I bet you'll like Harry for me." Tate says to her.

I kept a soft smile on my face though.

"And guess what mom? Harry here passed dad and the two annoying goofballs." She adds.

I gaped at her while she looks at me with a beautiful smile. "Is it true?" I ask her in shock.

She nods happily. "Yes Harry. You passed."

I laughed happily and just wrapped my arms around her, making her hug me. She laces her arms around me in return and felt her cheeks pressed against my chest.

"And I wouldn't even let them get in between us." She adds.

I smile at her as she tiptoes and kisses my lips while I kiss her back for a while.

"I love you." I tell her as soon as she pulled herself away from the kiss.

She smiles at me and rubs her thumb over my cheek. "I love you too Harry."

NEW YORK

"There's a song in my heart I feel like I belong.

It's a better place since you came along

It's a better place since you came along..."

"Alright! That was very great Rachel. Really fantastic. Let's take five and listen to it in a bit, okay?" I speak to her while she smiles at me as she stands inside the booth.

Rachel pulled her two thumbs up then takes of her huge headphones. The door opens and it was Julian bringing us some snacks. It's only five in the afternoon and my recording session with Rachel Platten's song had just been finished. I was helping her with her album that's why I wrote a song to contribute and I was even glad and very honored that she wanted the song that I composed to be a part of her next album. I guess it'll always be an honor to be working with other artists who loves to sing too.

In case you're all wondering, yes that was the same piano piece that Tate's father played to me when we were in Spain. I asked for his permission to write lyrics for it and use it as a song for an album and I was happy he agreed. He was even the first one who heard the entire song with my lyrics in it and he said that he loved it so much which made me really happy too. I was expecting that he would be mad at me for using his piano piece but then he was glad that I did it.

In honor of Tate's late mother, I wanted to write that song for her and Mr. Kavanaugh's great love for his wife. It wasn't only written for her but also for Tate too. I know that I've written songs for Tate quite a few times already and some artists have already sang it too but this one is what I love the most because it's dedicated to two persons. It's like a remembrance of Mrs. Kavanaugh even though I haven't even met her.

"I'll be going in a while after this." I say.

"Owww too soon?" Julian asks.

"I have this birthday I have to attend too. I really have to be there. It's my godchild's first birthday." I answer.

Julian smiles. "Maybe the next event that we'll be attending is the first birthday of your child with Tate." He says jokingly while chuckling.

I laugh with him. "Maybe. Who knows."

Julian laughs with Rachel.

"But Rachel's already done really great with the song and the only thing left to do is to listen to it." I added.

Then a knock came by the door. "This must be Tate. I'll get it." I say

I rushed to the door and swing it open only to see Tate standing right before me wearing a simple white dress just above her knees and for a moment I see her as a bride on what she wore. It's as if I was already seeing my future with her or maybe I'm just seeing things but I knew what I inwardly saw when she stood before me.

"Hey." She greets.

"Hey sweetheart." I laced my arms around her and kissed her cheeks. "Let's go in for a while. I'll introduce you to some people."

She nods and walks in with me.

"Guys, this is Tate Kavanaugh by the way my girlfriend." I told everyone.

Some waved at her and smiled too that's why she did the same thing as well.

"Tate this is Julian, Patrick, Gerald, Fiona and then the artists Rachel Platten." I gestured to everyone who were accommodating Tate nicely.

"Hey guys. It's a pleasure to meet you." She waves shyly.

"The song that Harry wrote for you was really beautiful." Rachel says.

Tate smiles back. "Well Harry always makes magic through the songs he writes even if it's not for me."

I smile back at her.

"Well, I guess we really need to get going now. We will be late for the birthday party." I say.

Tate nods. "Right. Monique has been calling me nonstop asking me where we are."

"We'll be going guys."

After Tate and I bid goodbye to them, we walked out to the car and climbed inside. I quickly drove to the venue where Tarry's first birthday was being held.

Suddenly Tate pulled her phone out as soon as someone texted her.

"It's probably Monique again." She commented.

"Tell her we're on our way. That we're already close." I say to her.

She stares at her phone. "Harry..." She says in terror.

I glare at her. "What?"

"Miller's there." She says.

"What? Who's Miller?"

"Tarry's father." Tate answers.

I sigh. "This is going to be trouble."
