Party Time

When we arrived at the Elite Pack, there were decorations everywhere. I couldn’t believe my eyes on how they did this is such a short time. There is so much going on that she didn’t know what to think about all of it. This was so overwhelming to her. She couldn’t get over this was all for her and what they wanted her to become. The same old question that she used to ask as a child came to mind now Why Me? Why would they want her to do this, to become Queen? The next thing I know I have a hand on my shoulder. I look over and see Luna Lucy standing next to me.

“Good afternoon Luna Lucy,” Kenda said

“Good afternoon Alpha Kenda. Why are you being so formal?” Luna Lucy

“Habit I guess,” Kenda replied

“Kenda what’s really got you on edge?” Lucy asked

“I am not sure why me on all of this. It seems to be so unreal,” Kenda said

“This is a good thing Kenda. You are stronger than all of us and you want the best for all. That is all the quality you need. That is what will make you a good Queen, Kenda,” Lucy explained

“I still don’t understand why it has to be me? I am trying to make a difference and I don’t see how I can do that if I become Queen?” Kenda asked

“You being Queen will help in your destiny. You will reach more people and packs to help them change and go forward with what you are meant to do.” Lucy explained

“I never looked at it that way. You’re right I could reach more packs that way. I just have a question.” Kenda replied

“What is your question?” Lucy asked

“Is everyone going to expect me to find my mate?” Kenda asked

“I can’t answer that question since I am not always allowed in all the meetings. You would have to ask Alpha Elijah,” Lucy said

“Then that’s who I need to talk to,” Kenda replied

“He is in his office go talk to him and see what he can tell you,” Lucy said

“Thank you. I will head there now.” Kenda replied and walked towards Alpha Elijah’s office

Kenda knocks on the Alpha Elijah’s office door and waits to go in. “Come in Kenda” Alpha Elijah voiced. Kenda walks into the office and gives Alpha Elijah a smile, then sits down in the chair in front of his desk.

“What can I help you with Alpha Kenda?” Alpha Elijah asked

“I have some questions and concerns about me becoming Queen,” Kenda explained

“What are those questions and then we will address the concerns you have. So please ask your question before the party starts” Alpha Elijah said

“The first and the most important thing to me is. Is everyone going to expect me to find my mate if I become Queen? Do they think I need a man to be Queen? If either of these questions is a yes, then they all go against what I am trying to show everyone.” Kenda said and looked up at Elijah.

“That was nothing we talked about but I would assume that they will want you to have a mate at some point yes. When and the terms I do not know at this point. We can address that at a meeting after the party. That way you can explain your point of view.” Elijah said

“That’s all good and all, but there is so much more to this. If I have to drop my destiny to become Queen, I will choose my destiny over that. I hope you understand that?” Kenda replied

“Everyone understands that. I just don’t want it to come to that.” Elijah said

“Will I have to make any speeches tonight? If so, then I will put out there what I am doing and that I will do it without a mate until the Goddess tells me it’s time to take one. So if I am to be their Queen they need to know this. Before they make a vote. I need to go get ready for the party now. It will start soon.” Kenda said

“Go get ready. I can’t wait to introduce you to everyone.” Elijah replied

Kenda left to go get ready for the party so she can let everyone there know what the Goddess wants from her. She will not change her stand on that and they must know that. They all have to understand that before she can even think of becoming a queen for all the supernatural world. There is so much to consider here that can go wrong and yet how it would help change going better for everyone if she was queen, but is that the right path? Is that what the Goddess would want her to do? If only she could talk with the Goddess before the party would help her feel a little better. She just needed to know that she is doing the right thing by thinking about becoming queen. Just as she was about to grab her dress the Goddess appeared in her room.

“You wanted to speak with me, my child?” Goddess asked

“Goddess, I need your advice about how to go about what they are asking of me. They want me to become queen and in some ways, I see how it would help, but they may want me to take a mate to make it happen. That doesn’t help with the change that you wanted me to put in place. What would you have me do?” Kenda pleaded for help

“My dear you will be Queen because that is your destiny without a mate at your side. The time will come for your mate to be at your side after you become Queen and you have united the races. Once you have gotten the treaty signed, then you will know when it is time to take your mate. Only then I can have you take your next level of destiny for you and your mate then your future child.” Goddess explained

“Thank you, Goddess, for talking with me about this. I was so unsure if this was the path I needed to take. I will think about the rest that you told me when the time comes.” Kenda replied

“Remember, my child, that your mate will strengthen you, but you will find him before the war and I will give you a hint you already know your mate. Be well my child,” Goddess replied then she was gone and Kenda was standing there in shock. Once over the shock she finished getting ready. She knew what her path was, and she attended to follow it just like the Goddess wanted her too. Now ready to face the party there was a knock on her door. She opens the door and sees Aiden on the other side and she knows who her mate was. She now understood what the Goddess meant that it was someone she knew, this would be hard.

“Aiden you clean up nicely. Did you come to escort me to the party?” Kenda asked

“Yes, I did. My, I have that honor? Plus, you look beautiful Kenda.” Aiden replied

“Thank you. Yes, let’s go to a party.” Kenda added, and they walked off to attend the party that is to put her on her destiny. They reach the platform where Alpha Elijah will introduce her to everyone. She can see Alpha Elijah and Luna Lucy on the platform already along with both of her brothers. I can see that her pack is around the platform and that there are a lot of other packs out there waiting.

“Thank you all for coming. I know that you all are wondering why the council wanted us to throw this party for a female Alpha and why they want to make her Queen. You are all here to meet her and see for yourself why she needs to lead our people and the other races. She has been touched by the Goddess and she is meant to lead us. I would like to introduce you to Alpha Kenda” Elijah announced, and I walked across the platform in front of it to see some in shock and some with looks of anger and respect.

“Good evening to you all. I know I am not what you expected. So let me tell you where I stand and how I feel. Then you can make up your own mind and I will be around the party to talk and answer questions then, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility to inform all of you what I stand for. ‘I know you think you see a body of a weak, feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a King that is truly a Queen. I have as much muscle as any man and can do as much work as any man. This is no simple quest. It really is a revolution of change. Sex and race, because they are easy, visible differences, have been the primary ways of organizing human and other supernatural beings into superior and inferior groups. We need to change that outlook. You see a woman, or Luna, Cook, mother. You would be right, but think I wear no mark; I belong to every class; I permeate every class of the community from the highest to the lowest, and so you see in me I am here to show you that no matter what I am, I am all of you. I am an Alpha, Luna, Warrior, Caregiver. Can a backward thinking Alpha say the same? Good sense, common sense, proper process is what should rule this land. That’s what I believe is the path forward for this quest, not the double standards that have us in the stone age thinking we do now. Fearlessness may be a gift but perhaps more precious is the courage gained through endeavor, the courage that comes from cultivating the habit of refusing to let fear dictate one’s actions and show that we all can change for the better or our race and others. I will not take a mate soon. I need to show everyone that I can do this without a man at my side. The Goddess has told me I will take a mate when the time is right and that she will let me know when that is. We all need to be united before I take a mate, we need to see peace and working together before I take a mate. My mate will help me, he will not lead me. My mate will stand with me at my side not in front of me or above me. So if you want me to lead as a Queen then I will do so, but they will not force me off of my path that the Goddess herself has put me on. Thank you all for coming out tonight and I hope you enjoy the party.” Kenda announced and then walked off the platform with Aiden at her side along with both her brothers. She told her pack to mingle and to enjoy themselves. She could see that there were a lot of eyes on her and some were scared to come and talk to her. Then Alpha Elijah brought over a couple of the other Alphas to talk with her.

“Alpha Kenda this is Alpha Fred and Alpha Brad. Alpha’s this is Alpha Kenda.” Alpha Elijah introduced

“It’s nice to meet you both. Is there anything I can help you with?” Kenda asked

“Yes, can you tell me why you don’t want a mate? Why do you think this is your destiny to do?” Alpha Fred asked

“I never said I didn’t want a mate. I said I will not take a mate until the Goddess tells me it’s time. It’s my destiny because the Goddess chose me to lead this. I can’t tell you where about all I can say is that I will do what the Goddess asks of me. Did that answer your question, Alpha Fred?” Kenda replied

“What is this destiny you speak of?” Alpha Brad asked

“I am here to lead the change for our kind and the supernatural race. That you need to treat everyone as a vital member not think of them as useless members or just one minded thinking. If we don’t make the change now in our own packs, then why would others want to help that change along. We need to learn to make things better at home before we can help others.” Kenda explained

“I can see now why they want you like a Queen, instead of just an Alpha. You have big ideas that sound like you have ideas to help our race. I am interested to see where this can go.” Alpha Fred voiced

“I agree with Alpha Fred. I think you may be what we need to bring us out of the dark ages.” Alpha Brad replied

“This party is wonderful. It’s white with just a hint of blue-gray. How did you guys come up with the color for the party, Alpha Elijah?” Alpha Ray asked

“All in due time Alpha Ray. They will reveal it all. The council will talk soon.” Alpha Elijah replied

“Kenda would you like to dance?” Aiden asked

“Yes, that would be nice,” Kenda replied

They danced while everyone watched them moving with grace.
