Chapter 132 Julia Meets The Lycan
Chapter 132 Julia Meets The Lycan
Julia's POV
"Julia, what's the matter?" Blake asked, concerned.
"Blake, till today, even Cladue didn't know about my mother." I said. "This Pilan, how did she know, and how did or why did she use this trick to call me?"
"Julia, she didn't." Blake said in a frank voice.
"She didn't?" I said. "But she called me saying--"
"Julia, if she knew then she should have known you never saw your adoptive mother, and you were too young to remember your biological mother." Blake said. "The fact is, she used a basic fact. Everyone has a mother. And since you never had a mother, this has been an emotional weakness for you. She used it."
"And, she knew about the herbs." I said in an annoyed voice.
"Okay, relax. Have you gone to check on the herbs you planted?" Blake asked.
"No, this Pilan thing made me forget all of this. Okay, I'll go now."
"Okay, you go along. I'll brew some herbal tea for you." Blake said as I took my leave.
As I came to the garden where I planted some herbs so our healer could make medicines, I saw Pilan.
"Pilan??"
I ran over, but she ran off. The next moment I was running after her and managed to corner her in the Grenlet Woods.
"Pilan!"
"I..I just wanted to see if--"
"If the immortality herbs were planted there?" I said. "Do you really think such important herbs will be planted here in the open?"
"Julia," Pilan said in a taunting voice. "I know you're a sensible girl. Look, just hand over the herbs. And I won't disturb you."
"Who are you?" I asked.
"What?" Pilan said. "I'm a witch. And I told you about the Golden Conjunction, the date, and why it's important for me to become immortal. Now--"
"Who are you, and not witch, what are you as witchcraft can be learnt." I said in a frank voice.
"Okay," Pilan sighed. "Fine. I'm a Lycan and a member of Steelclaw. Happy now."
"Lycan? Steelclaw member?" I said with pinched eyebrows.
"Yes, I'm a Lycan, a werewolf. Not a wolf." Pilan said. "Steelclaw's are wolves. They found me injured when the witch I was apprentice of, threw me out after her spell backfired. They took me in and I began living there."
"I told you before, the herbs were stolen. And, anyways, aren't you the shadow who stole the herbs?" I said in a frank voice.
"Shadow?" Pilan said in a shocked voice. "If I was, would I lure you to get them? I don't know what or which shadow you're talking about. But I didn't steal your herbs."
"If so, then a shadow robbed my store and stole the immortal herbs." I said in a frank voice. "But they are labelled with our Ashstone mark, so they'll be retrieved soon."
I didn't trust her so I thought if I told her this, she might come on alert and make a mistake.
"Okay, then can you help me get them?" Pilan asked in a pleading voice. "I need to survive till the Golden Conjunction. And as I said, I'm already eighty."
"Pilan, I've given up on immortality. The reason I kept the herbs was because they cost me my life. Now they are gone, I'm more interested in finding the robberer, not the herbs." I said in a frank voice.
"Okay," Pilan said in an enthusiastic voice. "I'll help you capture the shadow or whatever. You get the robber, I'll get the herbs. What say?"
Pilan did make sense, but ever since I met Blake, I had no doubt changed.
"Come back tomorrow. I'll let you know."
As Pilan leapt off, I went back.
"Julia, the...what's the matter dear?"
I smiled as I saw concern all over his face. He could tell what's in my heart just by looking at me.
As I was telling him about Pilan, I could see the worry on his face.
"Blake, I'm not going to do anything unless you're with me."
Blake kept a cup of herb tea in front of me.
"Julia, I think we should tell them. Then let's see what they have to say." Blake suggested.
Everyone gathered at the dining room. And I began to tell them about my meeting with Pilan.
Now I could see worry on everyone's face.
"I think it's best for us to comply with Pilan." Jennifer said. "At least in this way, she'll be in front of us."
"And, we know she's not the shadow. So, we can focus on that without worry as well." Lily added.
"Okay, since we know Pilan is a Lycan and learnt witchcraft, we can continue on with the Phantom Quenchers." Gabriel said in a frank voice.
"Yes," Dusitn said. "Claude, Blake, you both go with Julia and meet this Pilan. Interrogate and see how useful she is. Gabriel, tell Liam and his team to check if any other human has been attacked. Jason, I need to meet your family. I need to know all about Lycan's there is."
As everyone went their way, I went with Blake and Claude. As told, I released a flare, and Pilan came instantly.
"Men?" Pilan said with a disgusted look.
"Blake is my mate and husband. Claude is the alpha of Devil Claw." I said in a frank voice. "I told you, I won't do anything without telling my husband and the leaders at Ashstone Forest."
"Okay," Pilan said in a relaxed voice. "But, I don't trust men, so I will be cautious of what I do and say around you."
"Sure, we like it that way too." Claude said.
"Now, how can you help in capturing the shadow when you never saw it in the first place." Blake said.
"Well for that I'll have to stay over at Ashstone--"
"Over our dead bodies." Blake said in a stern voice.
"Julia, let's go." Claude said in a frank voice.
I spoke up before Pilan could speak.
"Pilan. We don't let outsiders in our home."
"Isn't that werewolf boy living there with you?" Pilan said. "If he can, why can't I?"
"Who the hell are you?" Claude said as he came and stood with arms open in front of us.
