CHAPTER 95

"Aether Entertainment is not complete without Miss Gwen–the one that served to be our mother. She honed our skills to make us shine and be talented, just by how you see us now. So, even just by the project we did for her we can show that with the things she is facing now, we wanted to show her she's not alone."

That's a very sweet message I heard from Tanya.

"And as we represent the other artists that's part of this project, we may show you the art of love."

(Two voices, One song started to play)

Along with the music video playing on the big screen, Tanya and Coreen sing along to the lyrics of one of the songs that have shaped our hearts. Right now, Kris is just staring at the huge screen while watching the music video... and it's absolutely pretty that Corrine's company makes use of some clips of Kris and me... which seem to be among the ones they took as they invade our privacy .

While I was in the middle of enjoying the melody I was hearing, my heart suddenly dropped when I felt her hand clinging to mine… And as I looked at her place, she's staring at me... crying.

The power of music has now served its effect.

"Hen..." Without completing my name, tears flowed one after the other from Kris's eyes while she was still clinging to my hand.

I immediately sat down to match her height. I'm at a loss if there are any cameras pointed at us now. This opportunity to know that Kris remembers me is something I cannot miss.

"Do you... remember me now?"

"Your name has always been... inside this." While holding my hand, she placed it on her chest–well, not the breast part. "Sorry... I'm very sorry if I forgot you, Hen. I don't even know how it happened-"

I really hate to see her cry, so I can't see her crying... by hugging her, I can only see the back of her head. Because when she cries, I get hurt too.

"It's not your fault. I'm not even mad at you because you forgot about me for five days," I replied with a laugh. "I really counted the days you won't remember me, so I can be listed on the list you owe me, Kris."

When I faced her, I used my fingers to dry her face. "As your punishment for not recognizing who I was... you want to know what?"

"How much?"

"No." I chuckled. I took her hand and kissed it. "Five days vacation too. Out of town? Abroad?"

"Even all the planets in the solar system, Hen... okay. I'm ready to travel as long as you and Audrey are with me."

This time, she was the one who took the initiative to cling to me and hug me tightly. "And please... have us talk in private. Not here."

I laughed once more. As one of the founders of Aether herself, even Kris is not used to cameras either.

*****

"You really don't remember anything from what happened recently?"

She just wiggled her head. I'm still hoping that maybe she remembers that she still owes me a yes. She promised that after everything is over, she is ready to give me an answer. But maybe... she just regained her memory just now, so I think she's still recovering.

"Yes."

I raised an eyebrow at her. "Huh? What are you saying?"

"Yes!"

"Oh, well... That's fine. If you really don't remember anything, I won't force you to remember. As long as it's okay with me that you already know Audrey and I."

"I said yes, huh!"

"Yes?" I laughed in response. "You're like a crying baby like that."

"Don't you understand? Yes it is!"

"Yes because?"

She approached me and whispered, "Yes... I do... Let's be married."

My eyes went wide. "But you just said you don't remember about-"

As aggressive as she was, she kissed me on my lips. And actually, the first time our lips have met.

"I remembered... just now." After the kiss, she suddenly couldn't look me directly in the eyes. "As I mentioned, my heart never forgets. Then that kiss... you know... it's unintentional. My feelings betrayed me."

She pouted her lips, so I took an opening to try to become a badass... and kissed her too. "My feelings betrayed me too."

Earlier she was shocked, and after a moment, we just laughed in chorus.

"Are we going to plan the wedding now?"

"As in now?" I asked in shock. "Can you rest first? That can wait, Kris."

"But I can't." She held my arm and helped me stand up. She signaled that she wanted to look down, since we were on the rooftop where we could see the houses near the Araneta Center. "I don't want to wait a long time again before I get to the happy ending I want, Hen. We're not getting any younger as well. Maybe if we get older and older, it will be difficult for me to give birth."

"My genes will not make you suffer. Trust me." I walked next to her and her head was leaning on my shoulder. "Don't worry. We won't wait a long time just to get married. Even if some people object to us, I don't care. With or without their permission, we can both get married."

The only real villain for us is Mama. She will be my problem in this marriage. But... I won't let her dictate my future anymore. I'm not young anymore to be dictated to by her.

"Besides my luck that we met... even though the setting between the two of us is weird because at first... we became each other's in-laws, do you think the world could accept us?"

"Why not?" While looking at the void, I also thought. "It took me a long time to move on from Gwen and our marriage. Everything was difficult, but I was able to overcome it."

"Other people might think that the setting between the two of us is weird, but... does their opinion even count? They don't know the story of the two of us, so why we should listen to them, right?"

"And in forbidden marriages, it's illegal. Not unless the family members involved in in-law relationships are both dead."
