CHAPTER 94
"We're here to visit Miss Gwen. Where is her room, Doc-"
I turned to face the woman who’s asking, and realized it was Tanya and Corrine. Both of them are wearing glasses. The only difference they had is Tanya is wearing a puff crisscross back dress in white color and she pairs her outfit with strap trendy flat sandals in beige color. While Corrine's outfit is always simple yet classy. She wears a solid cut out Mandarin collar dress and paired it with a black minimalist metal decor point toe slingback pumps.
In other words, Tanya's outfit is how SHOPEE app users dress, while Corrine is for SHEIN's users.
"I'm just reminding you that she doesn't remember or recognize anyone," I said to the two before they entered the room.
And they retreated at the same time.
"She has suffered a minor internal bleeding on her brain. As a complication, she lost her memory. But she has short-term memory loss."
"There's still no definite time as to when she will regain her memory," I added.
"So... she won't even remember what we talked about before."
"What was the thing you discussed with her, Tanya?"
"We've prepared a collaboration music video involving Aether's artists," Corrine answered me. "We have a cover song for that music video... and, uhh... we dedicate it to Miss Gwen. For at least helping her to make her image to the public not bad at everything."
"I'm not following." I chuckled. "Please explain thoroughly."
"The project we made is for Miss Gwen. By narrating her love life through this making music video, we want to share how good a wife and mother she has been to her family."
"And through that, we want to exhibit to the public that Miss Gwen has the capacity to be a good leader in the entire Aether because she did that, first of all, in her own family," Tanya elucidated.
Woah. I'm really impressed with the project that they made for Kris. Because if there is an incident that happened to us recently, the emerging issue about Kris that was talked about on social media is the only incident that I want her to not remember.
"So, we're very sorry for invading your privacy."
"You invaded what?" I asked Corrine.
"It's Tanya's idea-"
"Was I the one who thought of it? I just seconded the motion with you!"
"I mean... yeah. I thought of it but you pushed." Corrine rolled her eyes at Tanya, and then she returned her gaze to me. "We really had to do that, Doc Hen. Uhh... we just have to know what's your theme song? Or rather your favorite song, and that's the song we thought of using."
"Song..." An idea, as well, came to my mind.
"Yes, Doc Hen... It's a song-"
"You two are great geniuses!" It's like I won the lottery because I was so happy with the idea that formed in my brain. "Music therapy is one good practice for someone who has lost their memories. Good for short-term memories, as well as for most common illnesses like early stages of dementia and Alzheimer's disease."
I call myself a doctor yet that idea didn't come to my mind early. I also did not immediately remember that there is still a nondrug treatment for the memory loss suffered by Kris as of this moment.
"And that song is still your theme song-" Tanya screamed and didn't continue what she was saying. "OMG! Miss Gwen will remember her prince charming again!"
"You're overreacting. Some of the nurses are looking at us. Look!" Corrine said while she's feeling embarrassed.
*****
"Do we really need to have more media hanging around?"
"This should be broadcast, Doc Hen. We will not make noise and be trending without the presence of the media."
Corrine proceeded to the center of the stage and in front of her, there were waiting members of the media and they clicked the cameras in their hands at the same time.
I'm not a showbiz person, so I'm not really used to people. I'm really not into cameras as well. I am not confident of being photographed without my consent. And even recording a video that I will be a part of, it's very uncomfortable for me.
But for Kris... I can handle it.
Anyway, the venue of their music video release is in a small stadium located in Araneta Center. It's been four days since Kris was hospitalized, and she's been recovering and now is ready to go and see the outside world with her wheelchair.
So, she's going to face the public sitting in a wheelchair.
"Hey."
While everyone was busy setting up, I saw Kris rolling the wheels of the wheelchair towards me. I immediately approached her, so that she wouldn't have a hard time coming to me.
"Uhm, do you know what's happening? Why are you here with me?"
"Uh..." Honestly, I expected that maybe Kris remembered me, that's why she called me. "There will be a music video released here. You are invited to go here and watch it live."
She just nodded her head and returned her gaze watching the whole setup prepared.
And I... keep on watching her watching the other view.
"Up until this moment, don't you still remember?" I took the courage to ask, so I gained her attention. "Hmm... just wanna ask, so I can make a diagnosis."
"I think you're not the one who should make a diagnosis for me since... you're not my doctor."
So, I ended up just smiling at her instead. I didn't anticipate her response to me, so... uhh... I was also a little surprised. Because if I compare her usual self now, her attitude of answering questions wouldn't be like that–unless she is mad at me.
"Good day, everyone! We're really happy that you were able to be here on this day," Corrine started the show by giving a speech. "At this moment, we can watch together the music video we have prepared for a collaboration that we have also been preparing for quite some time. And this project, as well... we are offering this to the mother and pillar of our beloved home; Aether Entertainment."
Tanya took the mic, giving us a hint that she's the next speaker.
