Chapter 132
Chapter 132
Mira let out a long, slow sigh.
"Miss Wells, Moon Goddess Temple failed to keep its people in line, and you suffered because of it."
"On behalf of Moon Goddess Temple, I formally apologize to you."
With that, she actually gave Ruby a slight bow.
Ruby was caught off guard and quickly stepped aside.
"Deputy Palace Master, you're being too hard on yourself. The blame lies with those responsible. This has nothing to do with you."
After this exchange, Ruby's opinion of Mira improved quite a bit.
At least this woman had some decency. That was a rare thing in Moon Goddess Temple.
"Alright, I'll skip the pleasantries. Mira, starting today, Moon Goddess Temple will be absorbed into Shura Sanctum and renamed the Lunar Division."
"You'll serve as Division Head and handle the internal restructuring."
"I have one requirement — anyone who has been breaking the law and throwing their weight around in Riverton gets their Cultivation Base stripped and kicked out of the Division. Can you do that?"
Mira's expression turned serious, and her voice was firm.
"Don't worry. That's something I've wanted to do for a long time."
Victor gave a small nod and turned to leave.
"Please wait!" Mira called out quickly.
"Something else?" Victor stopped and looked back at her.
"It's about Brad..." Mira's voice carried a hint of unease.
"Didn't I just cave his head in?" Victor raised an eyebrow.
"What, is he going to crawl back from the dead?"
Mira shook her head repeatedly. "No, you misunderstood."
"We just checked his closed-door cultivation chamber and found a strange energy fluctuation coming from inside."
"Our people don't have the cultivation level to go in and investigate on our own."
Victor raised an eyebrow.
"Sounds like he stashed something good in there before he died."
"Perfect. Let me take a look."
With that, Victor headed deeper into Moon Goddess Temple.
At the same time, back in Atlanta, at Victor's estate.
Amelia, Anna, Makoto, and the others stared at the live satellite feed in silence, unable to say a word.
Over the past few hours, they had watched Victor tear through every single Moon Goddess Temple stronghold.
They watched him kill Alvin and kick Brad to death.
And in the end, he brought the entire Moon Goddess Temple to its knees without breaking a sweat.
Amelia's face had gone pale. She gripped the hem of her clothes without realizing it, her palms slick with sweat.
"He really took down an entire Hidden Sect... by himself?"
Her voice was shaking as she turned to Makoto.
Makoto looked just as stunned.
"Mr. Ashford's strength is beyond anything we could have imagined. He's ruthless to his enemies, but he's always been gentle with us."
Rowena and Celine were witnessing this kind of bloodshed for the first time. They clung to each other, trembling from head to toe.
Only Anna seemed relatively composed.
But her tightly clenched fist quietly gave away the storm raging inside her.
Victor was ten thousand times more terrifying than she had ever imagined.
She was just glad she had chosen his side from the start.
If she hadn't, her fate would have been a hundred times worse than anything those Moon Goddess Temple people had suffered.
Just then, Hela and Sean walked in.
Taking one look at everyone's pale faces, they exchanged a small smile.
"There's nothing to be afraid of. Victor only shows that side of himself to his enemies. And everything he does, he does to protect all of us."
"Think about it — if he weren't this strong, where would we be right now?"
If Victor had lost, would Moon Goddess Temple have spared him? Would they have spared everyone back in Atlanta?
Not a chance.
With that thought, the fear in Amelia's heart slowly faded, replaced by a deep sense of awe and calm.
Facing so many ruthless enemies all by himself — how much pressure must Victor have been carrying?
The thought made Amelia too restless to sit still. "I'm going to Riverton to find him."
Makoto grabbed her arm. "Please calm down! Mr. Ashford specifically told you not to go before he left."
"Things are still chaotic over there. If you show up now, you'll only distract him!"
"But..."
Rowena stepped forward and gently spoke up. "No buts! We have to trust him. He's Shura!"
Amelia stared at the screen, watching that calm, steady figure walking toward the chamber. She wrestled with herself for a moment.
Then she quietly sat back down.
He was that powerful. If she rushed over there, what could she possibly do except get in the way?
"Then we'll stay here and wait for him to come back."
Everyone heard that and nodded quietly, one by one.
Half an hour later, a furious, aged voice suddenly rang out across Moon Goddess Mountain, shaking the sky.
"Who killed my brother!"
Hearing that roar, Mira couldn't help but sigh.
"Lord Shura, he's calling for you."
Victor nodded, his tone flat. "I heard."
"So you're the Grand Elder. Stop hiding and come out. The one who killed your brother is right here."
The moment his words landed, Parker Thornton came storming over from a distance, moving so fast he nearly stirred up a gust of wind.
"You killed my brother, you destroyed a hundred years of my Sect's legacy. I will wipe out your soul and make sure you never find peace in death!"
"So many words." Victor dug a finger in his ear, looking completely unbothered.
"If you want to fight, hurry up. I've got an eight o'clock flight back to Atlanta tomorrow morning. Once we're done, I need to get some sleep."
That pushed Parker over the edge.
He stopped holding back his aura, channeled every ounce of his power, and launched a palm strike. A fierce shockwave blasted straight toward Victor.
Everything in its path was torn apart — sand and rocks flew, the sky seemed to darken, and the force of it was terrifying.
The Moon Goddess Temple disciples caught in that crushing pressure couldn't even stay on their feet. They collapsed to the ground one after another.
Victor alone, standing at the very center of it, looked completely unaffected. Not a trace of fear on his face.
He even yawned.
The wild confidence on Parker's face froze solid.
His most powerful strike, the one he was so proud of, had done absolutely nothing to Victor?
How was that possible?
After a brief stunned silence, he drew a sharp breath and glared at Victor through gritted teeth.
"You do have some skill. But this is where it ends. Die!"
He let out a shout, rapidly formed hand seals in front of his chest, and bellowed, "Mystic-Rank Martial Technique — Heavenly Inferno!"
"Edgy name," Victor raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with amusement.
"You actually give your moves names?"
"Enjoy your arrogance while it lasts!" Parker snarled.
The moment his words fell, the sky was swallowed by a sea of fire that blotted out everything. Scorching waves of heat surged forward, crashing toward Victor with the force to burn the world to ash.
Victor didn't step back. He stepped forward, raised a finger toward the sky, and said one word.
"Scatter."
And just like that, the entire inferno vanished into thin air.
As if the world-ending blaze had never existed at all.
Parker coughed up a mouthful of blood and staggered back more than ten steps. His legs nearly gave out, his lips trembled uncontrollably, and his face turned white as a sheet.
Not only had Victor casually dismantled his most prized technique, but the full force of the rebound had slammed right back into him.
That could only mean one thing — Victor's power was on a level he couldn't comprehend, let alone reach.
"What level are you?" he rasped, his voice hoarse, his eyes filled with a fear he couldn't hide.
"That's a secret." Victor brushed the dust off his hands, his tone casual.
"All you need to know is that if you want any chance of beating me, you'd need at least another five thousand years of cultivation."
With that, Victor started walking slowly toward Parker.
"You came to avenge your brother, didn't you?"
"Then go ahead and try."
Each step Victor took landed like a death knell, driving Parker back again and again.
When he finally had nowhere left to go, his back pressed hard against the mountain rock, his will completely shattered.
The Grand Elder who had been in closed-door cultivation for a hundred years dropped to his knees.
"Spare me!"
"I'll submit. I'll be your dog. Just please don't kill me!"
In that moment, every Moon Goddess Temple disciple who had already pledged loyalty to Shura Sanctum was completely and utterly convinced.
Because their near-invincible Grand Elder was now groveling like a stray dog, with not a shred of dignity left.
"I have no use for a coward like you."
Victor looked down at him, his voice cold.
"Your brother must be lonely in hell. Go keep him company."
He stepped forward and threw a single punch.
A dull thud rang out, and the last elite of Moon Goddess Temple fell right there, and it was all over.
Mira watched it happen and let out a long breath. "Lord Shura, you're incredible."
