Chapter 133
Chapter 133
Victor looked at Mira and smiled. "I've always been this good."
Mira smiled back and gave a light wave of her hand.
Behind her, thousands of Disciples dropped to their knees in unison. Mira knelt at the front.
"Lunar Division—Division Head—Mira, paying respects to Lord Shura!"
A thunderous chorus of voices echoed across the hall. The Moon Goddess Temple had changed hands. It was done.
News of the takeover spread across the entire United States within days.
The dark web was flooded with discussion threads about it.
"Is this for real? Shura took on the entire Moon Goddess Temple by himself?"
"Completely verified!"
"My relative's neighbor works as a servant at Moon Goddess Temple—they saw it with their own eyes!"
"Lord Shura shattered flames with a single finger and blew the Grand Elder's head apart with one punch!"
"Where are all those idiots who mocked Lord Shura for overreaching? Come out and take your beating!"
"Alright, alright, stop—I was one of those idiots."
"I'm literally walking up the mountain path to Moon Goddess Mountain right now. Going to bow at Lord Shura's feet and beg him to take me on."
"If Moon Goddess Temple surrendered, who in this world can possibly stand in Shura Sanctum's way?"
Back in Atlanta, the celebrations were in full swing at Victor's estate.
Amelia took three days off and threw a feast right there at home.
Celine, Rowena, and the others called in as well, partying through the night at the estate.
The mood at the Allen family, however, had hit rock bottom.
Eric had already retreated to New York after his earlier defeat.
Brian and Derek, who had lost everything, along with media mogul Philip, had all fled back to New York with him.
Watching the footage of Moon Goddess Temple's fall circulating on the dark web, Eric sat in silence, his expression dark.
Brian swallowed hard, his voice trembling.
"A powerhouse at Quasi-Ascendant Lord level—just killed like that?"
The room was dead silent. No one answered.
Everyone was too shaken by what they'd seen to speak.
Their last sliver of hope was gone.
After a long pause, Philip finally stuttered out, "So... what do we do now?"
Derek shot to his feet, his voice urgent. "Run. We run. Leave the country, find somewhere Victor can't reach us!"
Eric gave a bitter smile.
"And where exactly do you plan to go? With Shura Sanctum's intelligence network, there's nowhere on earth we can hide."
"Unless you want to move to Alaska and live with the Eskimos."
"Don't believe me? Take a look at what happened to the Black King Cartel and the Italy Black Hand Gang."
Eric took a slow, deep breath and swept his gaze across the room.
"Let me walk you through what happened to those organizations one more time."
"The Black King Cartel on Tortuga Island—notorious, ruthless killers. Countries around the world threw their best resources into finding their base and came up empty."
"The Black Hand Gang in Italy operated above the law. Even the government couldn't touch them."
Everyone in the room already knew how both stories ended.
The Black King Cartel had been hunted all the way back to their own hideout by Victor and wiped out completely.
The Black Hand Gang's headquarters had been raided single-handedly by Victor, and every last bit of their wealth had been absorbed into Shura Sanctum.
There was no way out. It was a dead end.
Eric's words hit the room like a bucket of ice water.
If any of them had known that a retired special forces soldier would grow into the most fearsome figure in the underworld, why would they have ever gone after him over something so petty?
What made it even more bitter was that Eric, the one who had brought everyone together, hadn't actually been directly involved in the plot to frame Victor three years ago.
The Allen family could have cut their losses—paid a price and moved on.
But Brian and the others were a different story. Victor wasn't going to stop until they were dead.
After all, John had been quietly killed in the middle of the night even while staying in a heavily guarded compound.
And Raines was still rotting away in a maximum-security prison, barely alive.
"Are we really just supposed to sit here and wait to die?"
Philip slumped in his chair, his face ashen, all light gone from his eyes.
But Eric suddenly stood up, a hard, dangerous look flashing across his face.
"No. I still have one last card to play."
"Years ago, when I was doing business overseas, I got to know Romanov—the leader of the Black Sun Cult."
The name landed like a grenade. Everyone froze, then their expressions shifted all at once.
Ed, who had just rushed in, let out a shocked cry.
"Mr. Allen, have you lost your mind? That's a full-blown cult! Working with them is like making a deal with the devil!"
Brian shook his head repeatedly. "He's right. The Black Sun Cult has no limits whatsoever."
"If they get involved, things will spiral completely out of control. We'll be finished for good."
Eric pressed both hands flat on the table, knuckles white, veins showing.
"I know. But do we have any other choice right now?"
"Every hitman organization on the dark web is refusing anything connected to Shura Sanctum. Moon Goddess Temple's surrender has put every Hidden Sect in America on lockdown."
"As for the underground factions—what happened to the Black Hand Gang scared them all into submission."
Ed let out a long sigh, looking like he'd aged ten years in an instant.
"You're right. The moment we set that trap to frame him three years ago, we tied a knot that was never going to come undone."
While the remnants of the Allen family were preparing to go all in, Victor had already arranged for April to take over Moon Goddess Temple on the other side of the country.
He himself had boarded a private jet back to Atlanta, with Ruby by his side.
After Victor left, April found Mira without delay.
Mira stepped forward respectfully. "April, all of Moon Goddess Temple's finances have been tallied and are ready to be handed over whenever you're ready."
April gave a warm smile.
"Actually, I'd like to ask Division Head Chen to assign someone to digitize all of Moon Goddess Temple's Cultivation Techniques."
"Everything needs to be entered into Shura Sanctum's database."
"As you know, Shura Sanctum has some gaps in its lower-tier combat strength. Now that we're all on the same side, these resources should be shared freely."
To the victor go the spoils—handing over valuables was expected, and Mira had already made her peace with it.
She nodded without hesitation.
"That's straightforward enough. We already have an internal database. It's just a matter of migrating the data. We can have it done within two days."
April nodded approvingly. "Perfect. I'll leave that in your hands, Division Head."
Noticing that Mira seemed like she wanted to say something, April spoke first. "Division Head, is there something you'd like to ask?"
Mira hesitated briefly, then nodded.
"Forgive me for being forward—your Cultivation Base didn't seem to be among the highest in the temple. How did you come to hold the top position among the hundred and eight?"
April gave a quiet, self-deprecating smile.
"What you don't know is that I've been with the temple for a long time. I served under the previous master for many years."
"Lord Shura remembered that history and honored me with this title out of respect for the past."
"I'm decent at gathering intelligence, but when it comes to actual combat, I honestly have no business being called number one."
The straightforwardness of the answer caught Mira off guard.
She had assumed Shura Sanctum was a cold-blooded organization where only strength mattered. She hadn't expected to find this kind of loyalty and sentiment beneath the surface.
