Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Myra’s pov
The bitterness in my soul was hectic. I was being dragged away like a piece of trash. While Wilfred stood there with no emotions. I hate him so much. In fact I don't think I ever hated someone the way I hate him.
“Get in bitch. Did you really think you could get away after betraying the alpha? And I actually wonder what the alpha saw in you anyway”. The guard said as he pushed me into the cell. But I was too weak to retorate.
All I could think of was Armani. Where could she be? Would Wilfred really hurt her?
“Hmmmp”. The guard scoffed in anger before stomping away in large strides.
You could probably say he was angry I didn't answer but I didn't care. I stood there for a long time staring into space. Who could have done this to me? Is it Shayna? Of course it had to be her.
In my episode of thinking. I suddenly felt something cold close to my legs. I immediately looked to see Armani all pale and blue.
“Armani’… my heart palpated as I shouted in distress. She doesn't look good at all. Did Wilfred really hurt his own child? I swear I would kill him if anything happens to her.
“Guards..guards''. I shouted hysterically, while shaking the rails rigorously. I never knew I had such strength but I was scared and I didn't know what else to do. My child is my life.
“Shut it. How dare you disturb the peace of the cell’. The same guard approached me with a frown.
“Please. Help me, my child”. My voice shaked with a heavy intensity.
‘Your child?’ He repeated as if he was doubting me.
“Hurry, please. She is not breathing”. I quickly brought her forward and the guard had a surprised expression. More like he was confused.
“But…..
“Please just take her to the pack doctor. She must not die. I beg of you”. I pleaded as my life depended on it. Nothing must go wrong.
“Okay. Damion’, I heard him call someone. Probably another guard. “Take the child”. He commanded. The guard opened the door and took Armani from me. I wanted to follow suit but….
“And where do you think you are going?” The guard's face twisted in astonishment.
“Do you have a death wish”.You should be happy that you got this privilege’. With that he left like he was never here.
I in the other hands couldn't stop pacing as seconds to minutes and hours passed.
I heard the steps of heels clacking. They were familiar and before I could think.
“Maria… I felt nostalgic for a moment. She was looking all good. Even better than I knew her before.
“Myra. Oh my God. I am so sorry. She had pity written all over her face. I heard what happened. I am so fucking sorry that I couldn't protect you”.
“It's okay Maria, you've done enough. I said while I finally accepted my fate. You have been here for me all this while. Thank you my other half”. I smiled wryly.
“And that's why I have come to save you once again. Before the day runs out the guards would sleep off and you can then open the cell with this key. And after that I want you to run to this address. She said hushly while slipping a paper into my hands. You will meet my cousin there”.
“The alpha had announced your execution lately and I couldn't allow that”. She said with panic flashing all over her eyes.
So Wilfred really stood by his words this time. He was determined to destroy me. I was really glad I had someone like Maria in my life. With this I would leave with Armani and disappear into thin air.
“I don't know how much I can really thank you Maria. But you are an angel sent by the moon goddess”. Tears threatened to fall out of my eyes.
“What are you doing here ma'am”. The guard said imposing respect. He had so much respect for her. Things keep getting strange everyday. I thought to myself.
“My child please. How is she?” I interrupted their little discussion. My heart palpated loudly as my feet ran cold.
His expression was suddenly filled with an expression that reminded me of how my mother looked at me before she died. What is this?
“I am sorry but…
“Nooooo. My voice reverberated loud enough to shake the ground. “Don't say what I think you want to say”. I yelled at him.
“We lost her”. He finally blurted out. Earning a deep gasp from Maria.
“What do you mean you lost her”. Maria questioned this time as I was lost for words.
“I am sorry ma'am but it was late already”. I felt the world collapsing on my tender shoulders. For once again I lost my child due to my own carelessness. Her memories and laughter filled my ears like a haunted dream.
“Mummy you are always going to protect Armani right”. She would often ask to feel reassured. She was my back bone. How could she die now? ‘No Armani you can't leave me like this”. I cried heavily with a runny nose.
I was pale and my determination was high. Maria hugged me tightly consoling me after the guard opened the door. I wanted nothing else than to leave this hell hole.
I cried that I didn't know when I slept off. But I suddenly woke up alone with sweat. Anger brewed all over me as I had the same nightmare and sadness washed over me as I thought of Armani.
Was she really dead? I still couldn't imagine.
“Stand up Myra”. I got scared. Where was that voice coming from? It was an angelic voice of a woman that is nowhere to be found or was I hallucinating.
“GET UP!!!! the voice came up again.and it seemed to be coming from my head. “Get up and make them pay”. The voice was in distress. How? I questioned in confusion. I was probably running mad already.
“Go out and be free”. A surge of energy alongside anger suddenly filled me and I didn't know how I suddenly broke the rails of the cell.
“You…. Some guard came to attack me. But a skill I never knew I had came. I fought them with no stress at all and I was able to run deep into the woods.
I almost forgot I had a revenge plan for parent's and as for Wilfred I will make him pay because he is responsible for the death of my child.
This may have started out as a love story. But my heart was empty, for the first time ever. I can say I had no love in my heart. I would get justice for my parents and deal with Wilfred too.
Shayna, Wilfred and all those who bullied me. I shall get my closure but for now I need a safe place to stay. I thought to myself while staring intently at the address Maria handed to me.
I kept walking even if my feets were dragging. Until certain noises echoed in the atmosphere stopping my steps.
“Did you really think you could escape?” I got startled by the voice at my back. My eyes widened in fear as my blood ran cold.
