Chapter 105 Susan's Plan - Part 1
"Love and care," Bryce's words re-echoed in his mind.
He heard what his father said about getting the best lawyer so Angela could be kept at a safe place till she delivers her baby, and after she will be transferred to prison, but his thoughts about showing Angela more love and care strike a chord in his heart.
"I love her. Is that why I feel the way I feel around her?" Bryce thought, feeling that could be the explanation for the reaction around her.
"Son!" Devon said realizing his son's mind was not in the room. "Son!" he called out again.
"Yes," Bryce replied, shifting his gaze to his father.
"Did you hear anything I said?" Devon asked.
"Yes, I did," Bryce replied, relaxing in his seat.
"Okay, so that is what I came here to tell you. This is why I didn't accept your relationship with her. Susan, on the other hand, is a good girl. We raised her since she lost her parents, and I know she is a good woman for you," Devon said. "I know this is not the right time to ask this of you, but please, I want you to consider Susan a life partner. She will make you a good wife. Think about it," Devon said and stood up to leave.
"It's late, Dad. I will get you a room to spend the night," Bryce said, not commenting on what his father had said about Susan.
"Okay, but consider Susan as I have suggested," Devon repeated, and Bryce still didn't say anything.
The two exited the study, and Bryce called Josephine. He asked her to get one of the rooms ready for his father. Josephine was surprised that Bryce opened his home to a family member. Since she started working for him, no one had spent a night in his home. It was strange when Angela moved in with him, and gradually they started sharing a room. And now his father was spending the night.
"Seems my boss is losing it. Is good, though," Josephine thought and smiled as she left to prepare the room for Devon to spend the night.
Devon himself was surprised by the request, but well, they just lost two people. He concluded Bryce didn't want to be alone.
The night slowly passed, and Bryce spent it thinking while Devon slept peacefully and snored as if nothing had happened.
In the withholding cell at the police station, Angela could not sleep either, and neither were her parents, Mr and Mrs Anderson. They could not sleep either.
Susan slept peacefully, waiting for the sun to come up so she could rush to the home of the Moores to pay her respects. Eva had managed to force Bernard into her life, and they were preparing to get married, and for that, she was very happy. After she had successfully drugged and slept with him to coax him into marriage, the two did not sleep together again. Bernard was very cold towards her, but she was still happy they were getting married.
"He would learn to love me when we get married," Eva had said to herself multiple times, ignoring the fact that Bernard was very cold towards her.
The morning finally came, and Susan freshened up, getting ready to visit the Moore family home. She knew Bryce would not come to the office. So she planned on visiting him too at his home. It was time for Eva to return to the office after the long suspension. The second premiere of the movie was also happening later that night. She wishes to get Bryce to come out with her as her date. So she could spread the news of Bryce's wife-to-be on social media and also use the same strategy she used for Eva and Bernard to force Bryce to marry her.
The day was packed with a lot of things, but Susan had her plans for the day in mind. Now Angela is in prison; she just needs to play her cards well, and Bryce will be hers. She would become Mrs Moore soon.
"All I need to do is speak with Devon, he would know how to get Bryce to come with me for the premiere, and I will take care of the rest," Susan said to herself and shifted her gaze to a small bottle sitting on her dressing table. "You are going to help me become one with Bryce tonight," she said, staring at the bottle with a smile.
She dressed up and left the house after admiring herself in the mirror. She drove to the Moore family's house. She parked her car under one of the sheds and made her way into the house, swaying her hips side to side while walking on a seven-inch heel.
"I am here to see Mr Moore," Susan said to the servant who answered the door.
"Mr Moore is not at home, Ms Susan," the servant replied, and the expression on Susan's face changed.
"Where is he?" Susan asked, surprised, and she checked her time.
It was 6 a.m., and Devon was always at home around this time.
"He left for his son's place yesterday," the servant replied.
"Oh, I see," Susan acknowledged. "Do you know what time he is coming back?" she asked just to know if she should go to Bryce's place now or wait a while.
"I am not sure, ma'am," the servant replied.
"Okay," Susan said.
"You are welcome to wait for him," the servant said.
"No need," Susan said and turned to leave, but saw a car drive in. "On second thought, I will wait," she turned around and said to the servant.
"Yes, ma'am," the servant said and led Susan to the guest living room. "Do you care for anything?" the servant asked.
"No," Susan replied, and the servant left.
A few minutes passed, and Devon entered the guest living room. Susan stood up and hugged him, making a sad face.
"I heard about Mrs Moore. I am so sorry," Susan said while hugging Devon.
"Yes, it's quite unfortunate. I am glad the criminal is now behind bars so she will not be able to continue with her evil plans," Devon said, and his voice simmered with anger, getting to the latter statement.
"Angela killed her?" Susan asked, acting surprised.
"Yes," Devon replied.
