Chapter 106 Susan's Plan - Part 2
"Oh, my goodness. This woman is pure evil and must not be allowed to live. I thought she was just after money, but it looks like she wants to wipe your family out, too," Susan said. "But why?" she asked.
"Some people just have evil hearts," Devon replied.
"Wow," Susan said.
"Yeah," Devon said, not ready to share the details of why he wanted Angela out of the way, but what he didn't know was that a couple of days before Patricia was killed, Susan had already found out about why Devon didn't like Angela.
Susan was already aware of Angela's parents' getting killed and Angela's little revenge idea when she was young. She was also aware that somehow Devon was connected to the murder, but she didn't have the details. She knew someone from the Moore family ordered the murder of Angela's parents, but again, she didn't have the details.
"I just came by to offer my condolences after reading the news this morning, " Susan said.
"Thank you, Susan," Devon said and hugged Susan.
"I need your help," Susan said, acting like a little girl.
She was aware Devon had always had a soft spot for her, and she used it to her advantage. When her parents died, Devon didn't think twice about taking her in, and he had taken care of her, showing her so much love like she were his daughter.
"What do you need, Susan?" Devon asked.
"Tonight is the second movie premiere. I know that with what has happened, Bryce would not want to come out, but staying at home alone would not help. Could you get him to accompany me to the premiere tonight?" Susan requested.
"Sure, I will," Devon agreed without hesitation.
"Thank you," Susan appreciated smiling, and Devon smiled back. "I am going to Bryce's place now to check up on him," she said.
"That is a great idea. He will need someone by his side at this time. Now is a good time to get close to him," Devon said, and Susan knew what he meant, so she smiled.
"I will take good care of him," Susan said, still smiling.
"Okay, go to him," Devon said, and Susan nodded.
Susan left Devon's place for Bryce's place, smiling ear to ear. She arrived at Bryce's home after half an hour's drive. She parked her car and walked towards the front door.
"Where is Bryce?" Susan asked after Josephine answered the door following the knock.
"Good morning, Ms Susan. Mr Moore is resting and prefers not to be disturbed. Is it possible to come back later in the day, or maybe you should call him on the phone?" Josephine said, and Susan frowned.
"How dare you make such suggestions to me, you common servant? Do you know who I am? I will be your madam soon, and you have no right to speak to me that way," Susan barked.
"I am sorry, Ms Susan. I am only following my boss's instructions," Josephine politely defended.
"You are still talking back at me. I am Bryce's fiancée. You can't talk to me like that," Susan yelled at Josephine, but Josephine remained composed.
"My boss didn't make any exception for anyone," Josephine replied. "So his instructions include you, his fiancée," she added.
Susan raised her hand to slap Josephine, but Josephine took a step back, dodging the slap. Susan almost lost her balance due to the strength she put in the hand she was going to slap Josephine with. If not for the door, Susan may have fallen to the floor.
"What is going on here?" Bryce's voice travelled to the two ladies, and Susan dropped herself to the floor.
"Oh, Bryce, good you are here. This disrespectful servant made me fall," Susan complained and got up on her own, seeing Bryce was not ready to help her up, nor was the servant.
"I am sorry, sir. I only informed her about your request not to be disturbed and gave her the options you offered. I didn't do anything else," Josephine said to Bryce.
"You may leave, Josephine," Bryce said to Josephine, and she nodded before leaving.
"Susan, you wanted to slap her, and she dodged you, and the weight of your hand sent you to the floor. How did she make you fall again?" Bryce questioned Susan.
"Why did she move? I could have gotten hurt from this fall," Susan complained.
"I pay her to keep my house in order. I don't pay her to receive slaps from you. Don't force me to empower her to disrespect you. I pay her to follow my orders, so I expect you to listen and respect my request, which I pass through her to anyone who comes through this door," Bryce said, and Susan was surprised.
"How could you speak to me like this, Bryce? I am your fiancée," Susan said.
"Really?" Bryce asked. "Remind me again, when did I propose to you or when did I ask you to be my girlfriend?" Bryce questioned.
"Your dad ..." Susan began, and Bryce interrupted.
"I am not my dad. So go sort it out with my dad," Bryce said. "And what do you want?" he asked.
"I just came to offer my condolences. I read the news about your mum this morning," Susan said.
"Thank you. You can go now. I want to be alone," Bryce said, still keeping Susan at the door.
"Bryce, in situations like this, you need people who care about you by your side," Susan coaxes. "I came here to offer that," she added.
"Thank you, my dad was here for eight hours. Now I need time alone," Bryce said.
"Bryce, you need someone at all times," Susan tried again.
"Susan, I am not in the mood," Bryce said. "I am asking you respectfully to leave. Don't make me call my guards on you," he added.
"Fine, I will leave," Susan said, unhappy about the turn of events.
Susan turned around and walked toward her parked car. Bryce closed the door behind her and returned to his room.
Susan got behind her wheels and slammed her hand on the steering wheel a couple of times before starting the ignition. She angrily drove out of the compound, heading for the office.
In the Andersons' home, it was a few minutes to 8 am when Mr Anderson's phone rang. He quickly answered, seeing who was calling.
"Hello James, please tell me you have good news," Mr Anderson said as soon as the call connected.
