Arrest Warrant

They were still discussing when they saw police officers standing in front of them.

"Nathan, you are arrested"

The three of them all stand up, shocked.

"For what? A student? Who allowed you in? How would you even come in bodily and arrest a student, how is that even possible"

"So a student cannot offend? Or all the offense by a student should not be seen as a student because he or she is a student"

"Where is your arrest warrant?" Nathan Asked and the police officers showed him.

"I will be back Dave and Joan"

"No, you can't follow them, what have you done? What did you do?" They all turned back and saw Marcus' father talking to the head of the school.

"This man is taking this too far, Police officer please do not take him with you all, he has classes to attend" Joan said and tears rushed from her eyes.

Nathan saw her crying and couldn't watch but cry too, "Dave, take care of her please till I am back" He said and followed them.

"I don't know why this young guy had to face this hell, he didn't even touch them, he didn't even go to them to ask for his fathers property, but they keep arresting him and showing him what power is, why would a mother do this to her son? Why, Nathan I am sorry you had to face all these'' Dave cried.

"What do we do Dave, I can't watch my boyfriend go just like that, we both did it, I was the one that went to meet Marcus and I started it, I should be arrested and not him, why do they keep doing this to him" She cried out.

"Do not cry, I am sure everything will be fine"

"We can't stay here and be sure everything will be fine, when we are doing nothing to make sure things are fine, we can't just keep watching, let me call my dad"

"I think that will be better please, do and call him, Nathan keep facing hell he's not meant to face, the guy has gone through a lot at his tender age, I wonder what might be going through his mind"

Dave said.

Joan took her phone from her pocket and called her dad, after ringing, he picked it up.

"Hello dad, Nathan has been arrested just now in my presence"

"What happened? What has he done?"

"Dad, it was me that went to meet a fellow student and asked him what is going on, before I know Nathan come, the guy and his team wants to start beating us and we did same, you remembered he said I once helped him, I helped him from the guy hands"

"I will be on my way there, hope his parents are there too?"

"Dad, his parents? I will be coming over there too, I will explain everything in details to you"

"Okay daughter" he said and hung up.

"Dad is going, I need to start going too"

"And what will I be doing here? I have to go with you all. My roommate is the one they arrested, have you forgotten?" He said and they both left for the police station.

Joan and Dave met Joan's father on the way, so they already explained everything to him. Joan's father could not help but shed tears after hearing his story.

When they got to the station, they met him crying.

They catched him unaware, and he was so shocked that he had to clean the tears, he never thought they could come looking for her.

"Hmm.... I do not know what to say, but I think I am interested in this your case, not as Joan's father, but as your new father, I am sorry you had to face all these from your tender age"

"Nathan, you are crying, please do not cry if you don't want me to cry too, you have been strong and I need you to be strong please, believe that all these are ending soon" Joan's cried.

"You know what, let me go and meet the officer and talk to them, I don't know why some don't even have human feelings, all just because of money, all because they have bribe they can go miles"

"Alright, thank you sir" Dave said.

Joan's father left.

"Nathan, even when I am not in your shoe, I couldn't take this off my mind, I wonder what you have been facing, I wonder what must be going through your mind, I wonder what pain you might be coming across through each day and time, is it financially, who have actually been helping you? Money to eat, money to pay some bills, who exactly?"

The three of them all cried at the same time.

"Having you all is a gift, I have got the best gift I never realized I would ever have, thanks for staying by me, I never thought I could have people who could stay with me in my worse time, I thought I just have to bear all these myself, thanks for proving myself wrong, Joan and Dave, I love you two"

They were still crying when Joan's father came, he told them they could all go home, they were all happy.

He drove them to school and gave them money, but Dave and Nathan didn't collect it.

"No sir, I am fine, what you did for me was enough, you came all the way from house to come and bail me and that is enough, you left everything important to you to come over to bail me, what else can I ask for"

"No, it's fine, we are okay, thank you very much, the one you did for us is enough"

"I am giving you this not as Joan's dad but as your father, Nathan remember I said I am your new father, and Dave you can always call me when you need anything, tell Nathan to share my number to you, my daughter had always crave for one thing which is having real friends and not fake friends, she had met fake friends in other schools she attended, now I can see what real friends are, thank you Dave and Nathan" He said and gave them the money back, they had no choice, other than to collect it.
