Chapter 26: Temper Justice With mercy

The exam started already and Nathan has been very serious with his books. He avoided walking late at night and things he used to do with Joan just to concentrate on his study. Joan didn't understand this fact, she had been crying because he wasn't giving him the attention he always gave her like before and she had always been crying.

They were done with the exam, and he didn't even know how to plead.

"Joan will stop sending me text messages asking where you are and why you ain't replying to her now" He said smiling.

"She is really not understanding this, I used to call her everyday to ask of her, but I only needed time to concentrate on the exam, she thought I do not want her anymore, she always call me and cry, I don't know what to do now that I am done with exam"

"She called me one day and told me that she thinks you are now in a relationship with someone else, I told her that you were only trying to face your studies, I think the girl is really in love with you"

"Just the way I am in love with her, I am so much in love with her, but...."

"But what? Please, action speak louder than words, she is putting it into action not just words"

"How do I see her? I doubt if she would like to see me"

"When are you going home?"

"I am staying in school dear, where do I have to go? I will just be here"

"Okay, I will message her that I would like to see her, and she would use the opportunity instead" Dave said.

"Alright, thank you"

She put a call through and he picked, "Hello, my beautiful baby" Dave said

"Dave, how are you"

"I am fine, I had like to meet you outside the school today at the nearest restaurant"

"Alright, I hope is not that you want to tell me something that will break my heart, hope is not that you want to tell me my boyfriend had interest again"

"Ooh, not not that, why would Nathan say such a thing, someone who loves you more than the way you love him but he doesn't know how to show it?"

"No, stop lying to me"

"I am serious, you know what? Let's meet first, I want to bath and I will be expecting you"

"No problem, make sure you do not delay me"

"No problem" they hang up.

"Firstly, why are you calling my girlfriend your beautiful baby" The both laughed loudly and he continued, "So what did she say"

"Well, she thinks you have another girlfriend, I just think you need to see her and beg her very well"

"So let's go and bathe then, just prepare your words now" The both laughed again.

They went out and they met her at the school gate, while they all went to a nearby restaurant.

Joan didn't greet Nathan, even when Nathan greeted her, he ignored.

"I am sorry Joan, I am sorry for not giving you attention like I used to, but now, I am happy to tell you that I am here for you, anytime any day, you know I love you so much"

Joan ignored him, "Dave you said you want to see him you didn't tell me you are coming with someone"

Dave smiled and replied, "Nathan is really sorry, he always talked about you and he do not even not how to say sorry, I knew you are angry and if I was the one I will get angry than this, because I believe regardless of what you are going through, I should always be your number one priority, cause why did you date me "

"Now that you know and you have said what you add here to say, I hope I can leave" She said and stood up, she was about to go when Nathan held her hands.

"Nathan, what happened? You think you can only have me anytime you want? Please stay off me i am not even interested again" Joan shunned.

Dave breathed in and out.

"I know I have offended you, I haven't been there for you but I want you to know that I love you so much, like how do you expect me to live without you? How? You have been with me even when I didn't expect, you stay by my side, you are the one I want to spend my forever with, I love you darling and I need you to forgive me, and do you know what, I am doing all these because of you, because of me, because of you, so when I am done with school, I can get a good job and be able to propose to you in a very good way"

"Is that what you want to say, if that is it, I have heard you, can I go?"

"Joan, do not do this to him, he loves you so much, even more than the way you love him, he doesn't just want the relationship to affect you two studies, I understand his view and I understand yours, please temper justice with mercy forgive him, you two are lovely couple"

Joan smiled and say down, "I guess I am the lover one here, I am the lover girlz okay, I have heard you but I think this is just a sided relationship"

"Joan, please, I won't repeat that again, even the next exam, I won't let that happen again, I just need you to let this slide and let's be back to our normal relationship, you know I love you"

"Well, it's fine, no problem about that"

"Thank you, I love you so much"

"I love you too and I am scared of losing you, let me ask you this question" Joan said.

"What is that? Ask" Nathan said curiously.

"What can I do that can make you leave me, I am just scared and I don't want to lose you"
