Chapter 27
*****Faye's POV*****
I tug against the restraint on my left wrist for what feels like the hundredth time - finding no luck.
I was now in an unfamiliar dark room, on an extremely comfy bed, however my left wrist was attached firmly to the bed post - tied up in a tricky sort of leather contraption.
Even with my other hand free, I still couldn't figure out how to undo the damn tie!
When I first woke, it took me a few moments to regain my memories - the memories before Jaxon basically karate chopped my neck and made me pass out.
The only chilling thing that I was left with now was, I didn't know what had happened after the crash...
Maybe those horrific people caught us...
I mean that would explain how I ended up in here tied to a bed... But the whole room seemed far too nicely decorated for just your regular hostage.
The room was the only small detail giving me hope that Jaxon was in fact the one who locked me up in here... but if it was him, then why?
As if on cue, the door handle turns, causing me to sit up fully pushing my hair back from my face - awaiting the intruder.
"Morning princess!" The cocky bastard enters, grinning at me as I instantly scowl.
"Why am I tied up?" I question, pointing to my assaulted wrist as he laughs.
"I think I prefer you tied to the bed." He doesn't even think before responding, as my face flares bright red from the comment.
"Jaxon stop it! Untie me right now!" I argue, as he laughs at my pleas.
"Listen up first." He suddenly grows more serious, as I furrow my brows at his instant change In demeanour.
"You're here for your own safety... we leave in two days to go back to New York... so until then, you need to follow my rules at all times do you understand?!" He moves towards me slowly, taking a seat on the bed as he speaks.
"S-Sure... is Mike here?" I waste no more time as I ask the question that's been on the back of my mind since I woke up.
I still didn't know what car was affected in the crash...
"He's here and he's fine you don't need to worry about that." He instantly puts my mind at ease, as I breathe out slowly.
"What about the men that where in the car then?" I question, as he stares at me for a moment blankly.
"Ones in hospital, but they all got away alive." He keeps it short and sweet, as I crave more information from him again.
"So it was a targeted attack for sure?" I go on, as he closes his eyes and nods once seeming irritated.
"Stop asking questions now Faye!" His eyes meet mine when he speaks, holding a cold expression as I feel compelled by them... I nod slowly.
"You were out for quite a while, I didn't think I hit you that hard... how's your neck?" Jaxon eventually continues, glancing down at my neck with concern.
"I mean... it feels a bit achy, but nothing major." I shrug and find myself comforting him after he practically assaulted me.
Why I felt the strong need to comfort him all of the time I don't know...
"I had to do that, you were panicking too much and we were being followed... I had to focus to get you away." His eyes flash to mine again, this time holding a glimmer of guilt in them.
"It's ok." I state with a nod, as he makes a sudden move to unlock my wrist restraint - that he seems to do with ease - pissing me off slightly as I had struggled with it.
"This was to stop you from being nosey and wandering around on your own." He chuckles next, releasing my wrist as I grab it to me - enjoying the freedom.
"I wouldn't run away you know." I complain - slightly annoyed that even after I had married him - he still didn't trust me.
"I know... it's other people in this house I don't trust princess." He winks, as I ponder his words.
Who else was in this house...
"I don't want you going anywhere in here without myself, Nolan or Grey is that clear?" He shifts on the bed to now sit beside me.
"Yeah..." I sound wary, as I watch him open his arms and signal for me to move in closer to him.
Confused, however I comply, as I couldn't explain the trust I had in him at this point. Although his temper terrified me, I found myself trusting that he had my best interests at heart with every decision...
I cautiously lean in to him, feeling his arms wrap around me in a comforting hug as I lay my head on his large chest.
"There's some shit I need to take care of back in New York... and it's no longer safe for you here in Italy... so our last few days here won't be as fun as I had hoped." He speaks softly now, running a strong hand through my tangled hair, as I remain silent and listen.
"I'll make the end of our wedding up to you... that wasn't my original plan you know." He speaks again, seeming frustrated now with the events that had happened.
"I still weirdly had fun." I comment, remembering my day spent drinking with my two friends as I smile.
"I know, but I had other plans for our night together..." His voice suddenly grows lower, as I gulp - feeling the heat erupt within me like a new born fire...
"Wait... do you mean...?" I whisper almost inaudibly, causing his chest to rise quickly as he begins to chuckle beneath me.
"That's exactly what I mean princess... even though our marriage doesn't come down to love... that doesn't mean we can't have fun..." I can practically feel the smirk plastered across his face as we both lay comfortably on the bed.
"I'm not a... I mean I haven't ever... uh... I haven't..." I try to be honest, not wanting him to think that I was just his typical experienced whore...
"You're a virgin?" He states the obvious, as I instantly turn my face and burry it in his side - feeling the sheer embarrassment rush to my face.
To my surprise, his other arm comes around to wrap me in a hug, comforting me. I had expected a laugh, or a snarky comment, but instead he just offers me a strong hug.
"I like that... I'm sure I can show you the ropes if you'll let me." He mumbles into my hair dangerously low, as I feel a soft kiss being planted next on my head.
This man is seriously playing with my heart...
"O-Ok..." Is all I manage before I can process his words fully, as we spend the rest of the night laying comfortably in this new unfamiliar room cuddling.
The big bad gangster... yet here he now was as my husband... holding and comforting me... like he was a completely different man.
