“That’s good.”
Flora let out a sigh of relief and then reminded them again.
“I’m going to help now. You two better not peek!”
After getting a clear answer from Tiffany and Leon, footsteps gradually faded away.
At that moment, as everything around them grew quiet, a smile spread wider across Tiffany's face.
After a moment of contemplation, she couldn't help but ask, “Leon, don’t you want to open your eyes and see what’s going on around us?”
Leon’s deep voice responded, “Nope.”
Tiffany sighed in resignation. “Alright then! I wanted you to take a look for me.”
Then Leon spoke seriously, “Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You just want to catch me with my eyes open, don’t you?”
Tiffany couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, you got me.”
“But don’t you think it’s a little intriguing what the kids are up to? They’re being so secretive.”
“I do.”
They chatted casually but didn’t open their eyes.
After a while, everything became even quieter.
As Tiffany was guessing what was happening, she suddenly heard urgent voices in the distance.
The two of them immediately fell silent, and the footsteps grew closer, heavier than usual.
Just as she was trying to figure it out, Tiffany felt her foot being lifted.
Instinctively, she pulled back, but when she realized it was a small hand, she calmed herself.
Guessing what the kids might be up to, a smile appeared on Tiffany’s face. She couldn’t help but ask, “What are you planning? Mommy’s getting a little nervous.”
Leon added, “Daddy too.”
Then Sam’s voice came from nearby, “Mommy and Daddy will see soon, don’t worry!”
Tiffany patiently agreed, though she couldn’t shake an inexplicable feeling inside.
Soon, she felt her socks being taken off, exposing her bare feet.
Then, her lifted foot was gently placed back down.
With her eyes closed, her other senses heightened, making the experience even more extraordinary.
She had no idea what the kids were planning, but she went along with it, lowering her foot bit by bit. Soon, she felt warm water envelop her entire foot.
The soothing sensation spread through her body, and the water temperature was just right, making her feel incredibly comfortable.
Tiffany’s furrowed brows relaxed, and she felt a wave of indescribable emotions.
Her eyelids fluttered as she felt a small hand massaging her foot.
The pressure wasn’t strong, but for a child, it was impressive.
As she was still processing everything, she felt another small hand on her shoulder, starting to massage gently.
Tiffany leaned back, adjusting to a more comfortable position, and couldn’t help but comment, “So this is the surprise you prepared for Mommy and Daddy?”
Leon’s deep voice came again, “You don’t need to do all this for us. It’s too much work.”
But there was no response.
Instead, Barry’s voice came from beside her, “Mommy and Daddy, just close your eyes and relax for a bit!”
Tiffany finally relaxed, lying there quietly.
For some reason, the accumulated fatigue of the past days seemed to melt away in that moment.
Her eyelids fluttered, and her whole body felt an indescribable sensation.
As time passed, just as she was about to fall asleep, the kids stopped.
“Mommy and Daddy, you can open your eyes now!”
Hearing this, Tiffany slowly opened her eyes.
She saw her two children sitting on small stools, washing their feet, and Flora behind them, massaging their shoulders.
“How was it? Did you enjoy it, Mommy and Daddy?”
“We learned this from a teacher on the phone! But we’re not very strong.”
Flora chimed in, “Flora wanted to help too, but they said I’m too weak, so I just massaged Mommy’s shoulders!”
At that moment, looking at the kids’ bright, earnest eyes, Tiffany took a deep breath, feeling a lump in her throat and an overwhelming emotion in her heart.
Despite trying to control her emotions, her eyes reddened.
She hugged her children tightly, her voice choked.
Leon also held Barry in his arms.
“How did you become so considerate? Giving Mommy and Daddy such a big surprise! We’ve been so busy with our stuff lately, we haven’t spent much time with you.”
But the kids giggled, showing no sign of resentment.
“Because we know Mommy and Daddy have been really tired lately. And we noticed Mommy hasn’t been very happy, so we prepared this surprise for you.”
“As long as you like it, everything we did is worth it.”
Their young voices were full of sincerity.
Hearing this, Tiffany took a deep breath, trying to suppress her emotions.
Unable to help it, she laughed.
“Mommy’s mood affected you, and instead of blaming me, you prepared this surprise. I don’t even know how to express how touched I am.”
The kids laughed, “It’s okay! We’re already happy now.”
“And if you don’t have time, we can do our own things and prepare another surprise for you next time.”
Leon ruffled Barry’s hair, “We don’t need you to work so hard. Just being happy every day is the best surprise for us.”
“Look at your Mommy, about to cry because of you.”
He spoke with a teasing tone.
Tiffany glared at him playfully, “I was already about to cry, and you had to say that.”
