Chapter 78 Whether I Seduce Men or Not, What's It to You?

Strange.

Very strange.

Walking out of Wren's office, Elsie felt even more confused.

Why had her attitude softened instead?

She was clearly angry before.

Then it hit her—someone must have deliberately helped her.

First, she ruled out Daniel. Since their meeting in the lobby booth yesterday, Daniel hadn't given her a kind look.

The only time he seemed somewhat normal was when Rhett took the initiative to give her credit, and Daniel's expression toward her softened a bit.

But after Chris stirred things up, Daniel didn't speak to her at all from start to finish.

Could it be... Rhett?

Elsie didn't remember ever meeting Rhett, but because of her poor memory lately, she thought it over carefully after going home yesterday.

Rhett was an eighteen-year-old young man, handsome, with that cold demeanor that women really liked.

But she definitely didn't know him. So why was he so polite to her, even going out of his way to be nice?

Still, none of that mattered.

Since it was a "suspension" rather than a "termination," Elsie had a chance to turn things around.

If she could seize this moment and salvage the contract between the Wilson Group and the Diaz Group, she could make up for her mistakes.

Back at her desk, after thinking it through, Elsie made a bold decision—she wanted to go to Daniel's office and volunteer to visit the Morgan Group as a project team member.

In fact, Elsie knew the project details very well, even better than Aria and Jada.

Those two were natural optimists. Even with Chris causing trouble and the Wilson Group taking it very seriously internally, they both thought it was a done deal. They'd been shopping and hanging out these past few days, not bothering to learn the project details at all.

Just as she was thinking, the door to Jada's office, the business director, opened.

Jada looked at her with a complicated expression.

Her breathing was heavy; you could even hear her rough breaths.

You could imagine how terrible Jada's mood was right now.

She looked at Elsie, scratching her hair forcefully with both hands, like a crazy person.

Finally, the anger in her eyes overtook her reason.

"I heard you've been temporarily suspended."

Jada asked.

"Yes, Ms. Thomas."

Elsie didn't know what she wanted, but answered respectfully.

"So that means you're not really part of the company right now?"

A dangerous smile appeared at the corner of Jada's mouth.

As she spoke, she went crazy and tore all the documents on Elsie's desk to shreds.

The employees nearby were startled by her outburst and quickly left their desks, hiding at a distance, afraid to speak up.

Jada was Wren's niece, from the Thomas family, and there were rumors about her and Daniel, too. Trying to stop her would be thankless—no one dared to provoke her.

After tearing up the documents on Elsie's desk, Jada gasped for breath, smoothed her hair, and asked, "I didn't touch you, did I?"

Elsie was also quite scared and instinctively shook her head.

"OK."

With that, Jada somehow found the strength to lift a chair and smash it hard into Elsie's computer.

The monitor shattered with a deafening crash.

This finally alarmed Wren in her office, who rushed out to stop her.

"Elsie, you shameless bastard! Do all the men in the world have to revolve around you?"

"You were born with a slut's face, destined to be screwed by every man in the world. You and your mom are both trash, both whores..."

Elsie could accept people cursing her.

She could even endure being slapped and beaten.

But if anyone insulted Mia, that was her bottom line, her uncrossable boundary.

What about seducing men?

What about all the men in the world revolving around her?

Most likely, many people had seen her sitting with Daniel, Chris, and Rhett yesterday, and word had reached Jada's ears.

And with the project failing, she'd only received a "temporary suspension" punishment, which Jada probably thought was the result of her bewitching men.

Elsie herself didn't understand why this was happening, why she had to suffer this undeserved disaster.

Even Mia had become an outlet for Jada's emotional venting.

Aren't you jealous of me and Daniel?

Aren't you jealous that I sat with Rhett and Chris?

Aren't you jealous that I might still stay at PAT Marketing Company?

With the deceased Mia being insulted, Elsie lifted her head, looked coldly at Jada, and mocked:

"Whether I seduce men or not is none of your business. If you're so capable, why don't you go seduce them yourself?"

Jada, held in Wren's arms, froze.

She seemed not to have expected Elsie to strike precisely at her weak spot.

A few seconds later, a hysterical scream rang out:

"Elsie, I'm going to kill you today!"

"Don't hold me back, I want her dead by tomorrow!"

"I'm not doing this project anymore! What does the Wilson Group's fate have to do with me? Today I'm going to make this bitch die!"

Just as she was going crazy, a voice came from the hall, steady and deep, emotionless yet carrying an intimidating authority.

"Jada, repeat what you just said."

At some point, Ronan had appeared at the entrance to the project area.

"Ronan, she's just a kid who doesn't know better..."

Wren pinched Jada hard. Even with all her nerve, Jada quieted down now.

"Yes, indeed."

"But kids have to grow up someday."

Ronan smiled and nodded, giving Wren face, but turned back to look at Jada:

"I'm asking you to repeat what you just said about the Wilson Group. Also, are you really not going to work on this project?"

"I..."

Jada completely sobered up, her eyes showing panic, tears streaming down her face.

She collapsed to the ground with a thud and began crying softly.

Elsie showed no expression, walking past Jada and Wren.

Without pausing for a moment or glancing at Wren and Jada, she walked straight through the aisle between the workstations.

As she passed Ronan, Elsie leaned forward slightly and bowed, greeting him:

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson."

Ronan nodded in response.

With that, Elsie walked straight out the door.

Ronan felt that today's Elsie seemed a bit different. Watching her back, he said, "You've been temporarily suspended."

"Yes, I received the notice," Elsie answered.

"Planning to see someone?"

Ronan could probably guess that Elsie was going to see someone. He felt that right now, he was the one who could help Elsie the most—and this was the perfect opportunity to win her over.

"Yes."

Elsie didn't answer directly. She was in a bad mood, still angry about Jada's unreasonable outburst.

"Good luck."
